  1. If you want options, why would you take the option to use certain mods away from a large segment of the playerbase? Workshop isn't better or easier than other distribution methods. The de facto standard for distribution is the forum itself anyway. Curse and kerbalstuff have nice hosting options, yet most people use mediafire or dropbox regardless. The fact is workshop limits your options, it makes having multiple versions of a mod in one place (e.g. lite or other variants) difficult, it makes configuration difficult, it has size limits, doesn't support modpacks, and locks people out of using it. Overall it's a profoundly bad system. But I guess one-click install is your killer feature here. Try CKAN for that.
  2. Tried removing the part from the squad folder, tried career mode, tried different resolutions. Nothing.
  3. Nothing happens if you click on any buttons, sometimes the buttons don't show up at all. Buttons may appear if you use sorting by name, weight size or price, but they don't work. I already said all this. I have also tried starting new games.
  4. No steps. Steam auto-downloaded 1.0.1 and that was it. I have restarted, reinstalled, rolled back and rolled forward, verified at least 10 times and it persists. It seems to be 1.0.1 alone that causes it. 0.90 is fine, 1.0 was fine.
  5. Simple solution: make jet engine parts long. Nobody stores fuel inside of the engine anyway. Minimal effort, and the same result as a more complicated solution. I'd make a part like that but I don't know how to mod KSP.
  6. As pictured, using the Steam version. Update: Can't even move existing parts. It is also possible to glitch it to show some parts by sorting by name/cost etc. Most of the buttons don't work but sometimes the part spawns embedded in the floor. Update: Re-installing doesn't work. 1.0.2 did nothing either.
  7. Monetization made everything ****ty over at Minecraft. Don't make the same mistake. A mod is and should be a labour of love. If you attract people to your game with money, you're attracting the wrong crowd.
  8. What you'll want to do is get in a parallel orbit with Mun with a bunch of fuel to spare, then wait until the right moment and increase your forward speed until your elliptical orbit intersects that of Mun. You'll want to do this opposite in your orbit from where you want to go. Which is about 45-50 ish degrees ahead of where it is when you begin. Watch out for the speed as it gets really sensitive once you've reached escape velocity. Also, if your orbit is off vertically you can change the angle by accelerating perfectly perpendicular up or down to it. If you're too slow you can maybe fix it by speeding up inside the Mun's path, kind of like you'd do if you were to try and catch up with someone on foot or in a car chase. Try not to come in too hot, and watch out that your rocket doesn't tip over and split into little pieces with no fuel left. Which may or may not have happened to me. <<
  9. Well we can generally agree that even as it is, it's a pretty cool game.

Somehow I don't feel first person fits the style at all. I guess it's just a matter of not using it but it seems like third person is just the way to go for the silly cartoony look of the game.
  11. Well I'm a bit pragmatic about it. Once the paid version implements something really cool that you can't get in the free one or just generally reaches a level above and beyond then there will be money thrown at the screen. Until then I'll wait it out. Now that you mention minecraft that is probably the reason I choose to go this way about it. I bought MC early on in alpha, seeing how awesome it was and how much there could be done with it. But today I almost regret that, because 1.0 is not appreciably different from alpha in any meaningful way.
  12. Well without the tycoon bit then you're basically orbiter lite. It's having actual game mechanics and building a space empire that interests me. Not just flying. I'm fine with the fact that a lot of advanced features are going to be far off. These things take time and there's lots to do. But if it's never going to come then that is basically a reason for me not to buy.
  13. I just found out about this thing. Not sure how I didn't know about it sooner. So far I've only played the "demo". I hear there's munwalking and landing struts in the paid version? That would be nice, considering my first mun result: But ultimately it's not so important, so I think I'll stick to free for a while. Apart from new parts and fancy features the main thing I'm looking forward to is the tycoon aspect of the game that is basically non-existent right now. It really needs economy management, space port building and all that. I think that more than anything will provide replay value. Like some sort of evil genius in spess. I also know they are working on more planets? I think first they should make the existing ones more interesting. It's great to (fail at) landing on the mun, but once you're there there's nothing to do. And the main planet is basically just green grass and water. Nothing very interesting at all.
