Still on the moon looking for the Monolith. Got the 'General Lee' rover going from equatorial crater to equatorial crater. Note: a rover traveling at 522 km/h on the moon handles more like a spacecraft than a car. Wicked hang time! Longest amount of time airborne: 19 seconds. That\'s a 2.75km jump. -

I\'m making this attempt as well. This is the Armadillo Utilizes the MechJeb Cmd Module, the Cart, and an 'Ion engine' mod. I\'m not sure where I got the Ion Engine Battery and Solar Panel mod from. I usually consider it cheating but on the Cart I rationalize it as there are solar power and battery power cars so this keeps with the spirit of the challenge I think. Currently 30 mins out side of KSC -

I\'ve been wanting to map the controls of two joysticks to the inputs one for for pitch yaw and roll and a second for translation. Can KSP take input from two sticks?

I\'m using 14.3 and every time I hit Tgt+ Tgt- Rel+ or Rel- the craft turns the exact same direction Radial+.

Closest I\'ve ever come was 5.4km. Never been able to get closer.

At what point does it lock onto the target? I aligned my plane, synched my orbit and was withing 5.4km of the target and I still have no data on the rendezvous tab.

Ive been having a problem balancing the mass of my ship, maybe im just putting things in orbit that are just too big, because when I use RCS to translate up down left and right the ships orientation shifts. Any tips on how to correct this?

Well I cheated and put this big guy in orbit around the moon. Very nice work on the modeling. Can wait till docking is released. Suppose I\'ll have to figure out how to rendezvous in orbit before then. >.< -

I put a station at the GSO height but its orbiting clockwise whereas the planet is rotating anti-clockwise. Anything I can do to reverse the direction of orbit? -

Ok those velocities aren't the velocities at the time those are the velocities that I had to change to. So at 165km I applied deltaV (velocity change) to 2148m/s. -

Im going to give Hohmann another shot today. Im wondering about your method of deorbiting within sight of the space center. How do you do that accurately? -

Yeah you can't see but I was using the Sphaera mod. I had a tank and a half of deltaV left. >.< -

Flight log -Way overshot insertion into orbit at 50km, ended up with a highly eccentric orbit. -Apogee was approx 165km. deltaV 2148 m/s -Hohmann transfer to 50km deltaV 2058 m/s -Orbital injection at 50km deltaV 2423 m/s -Minor burns to stabilize orbit -Ended up in a fairly stable orbit at approx 64500m +- 1km (If my theory is correct performing the burn on the opposite side of the planet should have me hit atmo over the space center) -At T+ 01:04:19 second pass over the space center -At T+ 01:19:16 altitude is 64190m estimate opposite of KSC -Calculate change in deltaV to 2278m/s -Firing -[hold breath for next 15 mins] -T+ 01:26:00 altitude 52000m, suspect I may have misjudged the burn. -T+ 01:30:00 altitude 38500m speed 2370m/s and certain I fouled the deorbit burn. -T+ 01:32:00 ATMO -T+ 01:35:31 Touchdown Failed to land near the Space Center but take solace in that I ended up on the proper continent and on line with the target area. -

I have a theory that Im going to test. Im going to launch and maneuver into a circular orbit, say 50km. When I am on the opposite side of the planet from the space center I'll do an Hohmann transfer orbit burn from 50km to 34km. Im hoping that by doing that Ill place the perikee over the space center and hit atmo right over it. I'll let you know my results. -
Used some third party parts. Lift Off Going Gone Retro fire Glide-slope Chute deployed Home! I dont thing my run counts cause the the third party parts.
