  1. Chapter One- Richcott: "You two just get patched up in the infirmary.. we'll go see about Jorfen and the Packer." Lenald: "We aren't too bad, we can come along if you want." Sigfel: "I wouldn't take any chances. We can handle it." Richcott: "That Packer was blown to smithereens. If one of those frakers survived the hit, I'd buy him a drink" Loke: "They can drink their own urine in hell." Lenald: "Loke, let's go get patched up." - - - Richcott: "I'll go check on the other ATUV, little brother. I have a hard time thinking Jorfen survived the hit." Sigfel: "Yeah... I'm going look around by the Packer. Maybe I can get one of the engineers to get all the explosives out of one of the missiles. I wanna keep one of those babies..." Richcott: "We could modify those tank tracks for the back of our ATUV! Maybe then we could convince the colonel to put a big ol' machine gun on the... Aww, man. Poor Jorfen." Sigfel: "Tough guy, he was. Shame for him to have passed." Richcott: "He was supposed to go see his kids in a week." Sigfel: "Bad luck right there." Richcott: "I think we've had the better side for the past few months. Jesus, this engine block is just-" The loud sound of a gun being fired went off. Richcott turned towards Sigfel's position. Richcott: "Jesus, no.. no no no.." Richcott ran, his rifle in hand. As he got closer, an enemy hobbled out from behind the base of the Packer. Nearly half of him was burnt.. his left arm was gone. Richcott: "Stop! Stop right there, or I'll sh-shoot!" Rich was in tears, for his little brother Sigfel,no doubt. He fired. Richcott ran towards Sigfel, who was near unconscious. Richcott: "Hang in there.. You're gonna be fine, little bro."
  2. Shame to say, The Journey Forwards has been scrapped. However, I've got a new work in progress right here: The Equinox II- A tale of Vengeance.
  3. I don't know if I'm allowed to embed songs into my work, so I guess I'll find out if the link is ever disabled. ALSO: If anybody is ever wondering what a certain mod is, feel free to ask and I'll answer as soon as I can. Another thing: I've already put together two crafts just for the prologue, and I expect much more to be made. Even though they are for pictures, they work as they should. You can ask about those as well!
  4. Prologue- Was there a time when we weren't at war? Hell if I remember. Was born into it... then we had that time of "peace". If only it could've come sooner... 7 years later this frakery started. And now, nearing 5 years in, I'm wondering when the hell it will end. Loke: "This is Delta Squad, the Packer has left our ATUV heavily damaged! Dead in the dust, for christ's sake... Lenald and me are pretty beat up, but I don't think Jorfen survived the hit." Richcott: "P.O.S mother frakers coming right at HQ... Me and Sigfel are heading as we speak! Hold in there and don't do anything stupid.." Loke: "Copy that.... He's searching, alright." Richcott: "I see your position." The ATUV sped across the grass, tearing up dirt as it hit bumps and cracks. Loke: "Another ATUV? Richcott, I thought you would-" Richcott: "Trust me on this. I'll buy you an ice cream cone when we get back." Loke: "I need you to hear me out-" Richcott: "Relax, I've got this under control." Sigfel: "Maaaybe you should just listen to-" Automated Radio Broadcast: "Warning. Air-to-land missile heading towards your position. Leave the area immediately. 2314 meters away. Warning. Air-to-" The ATUV lurched to a stop near the two men and their broken ATUV. Sigfel: "Loke, Lenald, Run!" As the ATUV's wheels gained traction and took off, one of the Packer's rockets fired and struck into the broken counterpart's tire. Loke: "Best damn defense these junkers have offered, by far!" Lenald: "You can say that fifty times again, Loke." Automated Radio Broadcast: "Warning. Air-to-land missile heading towards your position. Leave the area immediately. 1178 meters away." The missile shot almost dead over the group fleeing the danger. They ducked down as the hell-screeching device dove itself straight into the Packer and screwed over the party inside's day. It was over. Where should I start? You want me to tell you everything? Jesus, is there going to be some block party afterwards? Is Bon Jebi going to play me a song? Fine, just expect to be here a while. My name is Sigfel Kerman, and I was the Equinox II's commander....
  5. Chapters- Prologue Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three Chapter Four Chapter Five Chapter Six
  6. And I'm here being astonished by ice forming at all. Deep southern U.S... it only snows here once every ten years....
  7. I say we make a new thread once this one hits a thousand.
  8. Please, some of you, have respect for the moderator team's decisions on this subject. Arguing is never the right answer when it comes to these and everything will go smoothly if we have a calm discussion.
  9. I've had this problem in the past. It's not very clear where this thread needs to be.
  10. Runs perfect on highest settings. I'm very happy. Back to the story... I've got back into the groove of the game. It's building time. (Coooming sooooon)
  11. I didn't attempt to run it completely high settings, but at somewhat high settings it runs so, so so so amazing.
  12. Reporting in from my new computer! 1 TB of storage, 8 GB of Ram, and 3.5 GHz of processing speed.. certainly much better than my previous. I'm downloading KSP onto this baby at the moment. Give me a couple of days to get situated and expect a new chapter soon.
  13. I'm headed there myself! Good luck with your story, can't wait to read
  14. Update: I made a mission patch to the story so you all could enjoy the story just a bit more
  15. I like the Eve base idea. I think it would offer quite a story; a long-term space mission can offer a view point on some of the choices in life.
  16. Yep, I know what I said: January. I just couldn't hold myself back! I wanted to get this chapter in. However, the story will be in full motion starting late December. Enjoy!
  17. Chapter 5 One week before launch, Aurora Space Association headquarters The headquarters was holding quite the celebration. Everybody in the offices and even other workers came to wish good luck to Harvin, Jerbo, Shepmund, and Enbald before they took on their big journey to Dres. Harv stood up from a table. Harv: "I'd like to make a toast.." He smiled. Everyone looked his way. Harv: "..to good spirits, and to an amazing mission to Dres.. with 3 guys I wouldn't trade out for the world. This is the journey forwards.... our journey forwards." Harv raised his glass. Next came Shepmund, Enbald, and Jerbo. Cheer roared from the rather large crowd as the four clinked their glasses with joy. Harvin recognized plenty of the faces in the crowd, and one stood out; It was Burtley. Harv's fading smile rose back. Once the four began to greet some members of the crowd, Harv went straight to Burley and gave him a big hug. Burtley: "It's really good to see you, Harv." Harv: "Same with you. How's retirement treating ya?" Burtley: "One can only stay home so long. I've got a little job running a hardware store. It's funny.. whenever one of the employees complain about having to learn where everything is, I show them some of the old spacecraft manuals.. back when we had to use a pencil and paper to get home." Harv: "Those were the days, alright." Burtley: "How about you? I'm surprised you have enough will to go through a mission this big. You're 57 and still going. Well, I guess I wasn't far off at the time." Harv: "I don't want to ruin the surprise." They smiled. Harv: "Burtley... can I ask you a question?" Burtley: "What is it?" Harv: "Do you ever wish you stayed in the association for just a while longer?" Burtley: "I think I've had my fair share of missions." Harv: "You weren't upset when you left?" Burtley: "Let me tell you something here. You shouldn't be upset at the end of your accomplishments. However, you should be glad that you've completed them. Be glad that you have possibly changed the world with them. It's your choice." Harv: ".. Thank you." Burtley smiled. Burtley: "It's what I do." Harv made his way back to the main room to say goodbye to the others. Harv: "Hey guys, I'm heading home. See you all later." Jerbo: "Aww, Harv.. but the night's still young!" Harv: "Yeah, and I'm not." They chuckled. Enbald: "See you later then!" Shepmund: "See ya." As Harvin left the building, he looked up at the sky. Harv didn't realize it, but this moment was much like that day long ago, as he and Burtley looked out towards Minmus. Harv: "One more week.."
  18. Oh looky, I made that "The Space Race" logo on the second image.
  19. I should mention that I'm sorry for the long wait, however, it does benefit in the long run. I'm getting a lot of time to think up ideas... can't wait to start this up again.
  20. Thanks! I reread this story so far thinking it would be bad, but I'm happy how it is.
  21. It's been so long since I started this story, but after a very long hiatus, I do intend to finish this. I'm getting a very better computer during the holidays, so I will finally be able to get back to glorious KSP without the ache of running on minimal settings with bad lag. With the actual mission in the story having yet to start, I can jump right back in and get this rolling, so re-read the written chapters if you want to, and get ready! Update, 12-12-13: Couldn't wait, had to make a new chapter.
  22. Great Chapter! Sort of off topic here, but it would be really dramatic if Jeb were to show up back at Kerbin alone after months of no communications between the ship and Kerbin.
