Well, i had to find some sort of excuse for the random blue lights i placed so yeah

A tall monolith on the terminator of a cold alien world, build by a long gone civilization. the blue lights are emitted by a emissive fluid at the bottom of the mountains. Made with Terragen 3 (free version) and blender 3d

yeah, i noticed that too, here's another shot but now with the exposure time set to 1 instead of 2: this is as close i can get to the real thing i guess

I finished importing the entire moon into terragen. here are some renders: The moon as seen from Earth: The moon as seen from Lunar Orbit: No normal maps were used, everything is actual geometry

That was a beautiful video! especially the beginning, when it was almost completely silent (besides the wind and the music) and then you see one small dot moving in the sky. i have to agree that there's something addicting and satisfying about drawing craters

haha, imagine this mission being realistic. first players are put into a shooting sequence that ends in sickness and players stopping the game because they get send into a uncontrollable spin. 2 minutes later you see the cannon shooting retrograde, leaving about 99% of all players confused because ''it doesn't look like it's going to hit earth''. now the best part: the player gets to sit in front of his/her screen enjoying the view for about 1-2 hours while the station slowly de-orbits itself using rcs. i hope i made my point clear. it's an arcade fps guys, not an advanced space simulator, and it shouldn't be

hey, not his entire community is cr*p. those who actually have brains will probably find ksp by pewdiepie, and become part of this community. and those who don't have brains will just watch the video and leave afterwards

i don't think it's necessary for squad to give him a free copy looking at the amount of money pewdiepie makes everyday i have to admit that i'm pretty interested in his reaction that most of the fuel tanks have the form of a barrel

yeah, the interface is pretty strange. but once you understand the basics of it you can get some pretty amazing results (without too much effort)

trying some procedural planet stuff: terragen is just awesome
