  1. The excessive thrust and fuel is to "KSP part" scale with the real thing. If someone wants to rebalance it, go right ahead. Also, if you think this one is too "kerbalized", check out this more realistic rendition of the Project Apollo stuff: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/29411-Apollo-Mission-Pack-Development-%28Beta-version-released!%29 http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/apollo-lmcsm-replica/ Heh. Well, I *did* write that the petals execute a meticuously planned maeuver with very little room to spare when separating. I think with the strut in place, I didn't need to limit MJ's thrust. I know, but I do it by principle. Keepsd people from complaining. Besides, if anyone wants to finish a kerbalized S-I and S-IIC, there are some basic models included as well. See above. Everything is to "KSP part"-scale of the real thing.
  2. While waiting for the release version of the AMP, why not play around with a kerbalized S-IB, S-IV, SM and SPS? http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/not-a-saturn-v/
  3. Released after a long drying period. http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/not-a-saturn-v/
  4. Good. More time for me to do something else then (Far Cry 3 or so).
  5. Leave the post as it is. It might be useful to others.
  6. Well, I've tried that with my parts and it didn't work. This is a pic from 7: http://i.imgur.com/YNVZuYF.jpg And: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transposition,_docking,_and_extraction#Missions
  7. I've carried over a 18.0 save into 20.0 without problems (after adapting mod parts and modules to the new config formatting).
  8. If a Kerbal gets killed during launch, reentry or landing their name will be added to a memorial wall, an investigation will be launched and no expense will be spared to ensure that this will not happen again! If a Kerbal is stuck in space, he will be rescued, no matter the wait or cost required. No Kerbal shall accept the futility of its existence when stranded in space, no sir, not on my watch! And damn well not as long as I am head of the space program! EVERY! KERBAL! WILL! DIE! AT! HOME! (The NASA method of playing KSP helps minimizing casualties, by the way.) (This does not apply to probes.)
  9. From my record file: First Kerbal in space.................Merbree Kerman...Kerbcury 2 First suborbital flight...............Merbree Kerman...Kerbcury 3 First Kerbal orbiting Kerbin..........Merbree Kerman...Kerbcury 2 First EVA.............................Merbree Kerman...Kerbcury 4a First free floating Kerbal............Merbree Kerman...Kerbcury 4a First docking.........................Merbree Kerman...Kerbmini 5 First Kerbal to die...................Sheldun Kerman...Kermini 2...Parachute Failure Note: Sheldun had exactly one flight. Every other flight (Kerbcury: 5 flights, Kerbmini: 8 flights) was Merbree. He's the friggin' John Young of my game!
  10. Having four decoupling fairings works just fine (not this mod, obviously). The only drawback is that symmetry modes won't work, i.e. you'll have to rotate and attach each fairing separately. IIRC the flower petal method was exclusive to Apollo 7 and got rid of after one petal did not fully open (not-quite-as-angry-alligator). - Edit: Method: Set up four attachment points on the fairing base and just add a decoupler to the fairing. Make sure that the high gain antenna is not extended and then sinply decouple when needed.
  11. Well, NASA or the Soviets would approve...
  12. I'm loving 0.20 and can't deny it. Performance has improved and the new part organization scheme is sa-weet*! (*Efficient and orderly, just perfect to satisfy my german neuronal network.)
  13. Reporting right from the low end of hardware: Faster and smoother.
  14. Welcome! Hot Beverage Inc is back after yet another catastrophic tea spill in one of our factories! (This time, however, the chief engineer got demoted to chief janitor.) We finally managed to get our most beloved products back into production again. Same prices, same look, more SCIENCE! Due to yet another catastrophic unfortunate incident at our factory involving questionable organic material, we were forced to relocate our business to a different, but much more promising location (Shantytown, that run-down shop with the familiar Cup logo). Long story short, the cleanup involved lots and lots of pyrotechnic work and biologically deviant Kerbals from the cleaup (man, that material was really, REALLY questionable) had to be sent on a glorious exploration mission to Kerbol (helmets of to you, you magnificent mutated specimen!). But we wouldn't be HBI if we didn't put a positive face on dire situations! Our products are now 0.01% organic - as we're not taking any risks this time - and available with a huge discount! Pay for one part and get them all! Where, you're asking?! Take a left at the place with the "Biohazard!" signs plastered over it, go straight down the road, take a right and follow NovaSilisko Ave. for 12 kilometers. Don't let the run down houses fool you! We just wanted to be the first to claim this up-and-coming part of town for prosperous business development. If you run into the "Cup" sign, you're there! (Map Directions) Come pay us a visit and enjoy the most sterile parts available on Kerbin! Pleeeeeease! Portfolio: (We honor traditions as change is an evil thing!) 1. Fuel Cells Going to the dark side of [random planet] and worried about running out of electricity for your electric coffee maker!? Look no further, we've got the perfect advanced electrical solution! 2. Sensor Module The exterior appearance of your spaceships is too cluttered? Sensors hanging all about? Ever confused a gravioli sensor with a thermo cup of tea? Well, HBI has the king of advanced science tech for you: The unbeatable, unbreakable and undeniable sensooOOR MODUUUUUUULE! Grab it at our shop while it's still hot! Or better don't. Because it's hot. 3. Kerturn IB Need a lift? Call 0-7225-MECHJEB. Wait for an answer. If someone picks up, tell him that "Heavier rocketry is superior to specialized construction. Very heavy rocketry? Yeah, that'd be your mom." Don't worry, it's a supersecret passphrase. For maximum hilarity, don't forget to ask for "Kerbaltoads". Endorsed by HBI: FASA Kerturn IB - with bump maps!
  15. Is the Module Manager contained within the DealyReentry.dll? If not, the manager's .dll is not in the download. In any case, thanks for this. I can finally retire PerkledHostage's reentry mod.
  16. I initially had a script for that, but it didn't work for all configurations. Hence, you'll need to apply any changes yourself. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/30559-20-And-mods?p=386545&viewfull=1#post386545 It at least worked with all the 0.1 scaled parts I have installed.
  17. Old Plugins -> KSP\Plugins & KSP\PluginData New Plugins -> KSP\Gamedata\[Modname] Support for the "old" folder structure will not be provided forever, by the way.
  18. Okay, now we've got Macs covered. Great work! [Edit: I've linked to your script in my post.] The only thing missing now is Linux (but I think everyone has the Python libraries installed anyway). Basically yes, but some (older) parts have scaling problems with their attachment nodes in 0.20 and thus need to be modified as well.
  19. "Forgetting about electricity" would rank top three in a list of reasons for huge "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"s.
  20. Simply perfect. I'll sneakily steal this one for use in my game if you don't mind.
  21. I've taken a look at the mod manager. It might be that it auto-updates all part.cfgs of older installed mods by default. I'll put a warning into the first post.
  22. Is KWRocketry 0.2.33 updated for 0.20? If so, you won't need to use these scripts. If you *did* use these scripts on a mod already made ready for 0.20 just run "Revert.bat" and you'll get your original configs back. It's not designed to be run by itself.
  23. I've given 0.20 a whirl and seen no ill effects so far. And don't worry, your old part.cfgs will be backed up in the process.
