Am I understanding this correctly? Mission to capture an asteroid?
stallion x1 replied to Whackjob's topic in KSP1 Discussion
If the astoriod that is movable it would be (presumably) classed as some sort of debris in the games code. now would that mean that we could potentially move some files around / edit the text files and use it as a part on a ship? -
"ahh just neatly pulling up now..." as i watch my plane glide graceful as a bird into the air...... *sees aileron gently tap a clipped in part* Watches as it has violent convulsions and spirals with all the grace and poise of a rhinoceros on an ice rink ......

Yeah the main thing about the movie was the underestimations of modern weapon systems. And now for my favourite plane of all time: A-10 Thunderbolt--its main gun fires at 3,900 RPM Ammunition---the most extreme i have heard of was a mixed magazine of Armour Piercing Incendiary,High Explosive incendiary and Depleted Uranuim Ammuntion This combination can render almost any MBT in existence useless in a few short bursts. Sustained fire on a kajiu? Absolutely devastating would rip holes straight through its body due to Depleted Uranuims self sharpening and self combustioning war head not to mention the radiation from the superheated dust... (aploigizes for spelling im Dyspraxic)

The Dubious Science of COD Ghosts
stallion x1 replied to Lundmunchkins's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Actually the reason for shooting the ODIN straight down is because although it requires a greater D/V it increases the impact speed of the projectile meaning it goes from orbit to target quicker. So for once COD got its science right and to be honest all the had to do was copy the rods from the gods idea that someone had as it basically identical to ODIN. -
Post the errors you have made when you started playing at KSP!

My first mistake was thinking ( Warning Extreme Levels Of Incompetence Follow) I didnt realized you could use wasd to change the direction of your craft........ So i deciede to put engines on the craft sideways so i could get into orbit. Nuff said many lives were lost in the resulting pinwheel of death........ Now i wish i never told you that.............. -
its a known bug known as "infi Glide" its quite fun isnt it Must say those are quite pretty designs.

Is it possible to exceed the speed of light?
stallion x1 replied to stallion x1's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Ok thanks the responses i now see the bit i got wrong makes sense now..... (Sort of) -
Am i right in saying that speed is only relative to the location of the observer.... So therefore if you were to accelerate object "a" at .5c in one direction and object "b" at .5c in the opposite direction then surely from the view of an observer on object "a" the speed of object "b" would be the speed of light..... Im guessing they is some sort of massive problem with this idea that i haven't noticed so please tell me...

In my opion its has got easier to land due to better sas/asas. However.. it is now much harder to assemble a base on the moon as the undualting ground means docking ports are mismatched....

what about some sort of space taser that could cripple a ship by rendering it unoperative? not sure it would be efficent though... Or a low yield nuclear warhead purely because when a nuclear warhead detonates it emits an EMP pulse which would destroy the elctrical systems on a ship ...... Maybe... im no expert

You can use a program called autohotkey to rebind controls on your keyboard very easily. For example my Right Control key is mapped to my middle mouse button as i am using a trackball mouse
