  1. blue is often honored members of the community, VIPs so to say. yellow or orange is sometimes used for donators or other supporters.
  2. i usually end up in a polar orbit because i rolled to the wrong side to start a transfer. again. Time to get a navigation system installed on the old capsule... :
  3. I once tried to leave atmosphere with SRBs, and exploded at the black line (border to space) due to overheating.
  4. That is until you start to power up again because your descend is too fast and overshoot. The upwards acceleration decreases the snycronized drift which causes your craft to move opposite to the body\'s movement.
  5. You have to realize that it\'s not you who produces lateral motion. It\'s the body you\'re descending to that\'s drifting away. Synchronizing that is a pain... Just something I wanted to say since I never found it anywhere - this is my perspective on that little... problem.
  6. I don\'t know what happened, but after uploading this I found that I had a whole copy of ksp in my ships folder O_o Upgrading to .14x2 properly helped now, though.
  7. I came up with a nice little system that lets you kill dead weight in .13, unfortunately the stage sorting bug still makes it hard for me to actually use anything like that. It is capable of lifting off if you purge or empty tank 3, but you\'re advised to prefer use in low gravity / atmosphere surroundings. (It\'s not a pepperpot design, it\'s a twin daisychain feeding a mono engine)

  9. i discovered that last week when hacking around in the part.cfg of rcs_block and deem it a cheat because its a non official part.
  10. That I understand, but try to build a rocket with liquid boosters that mirror the shuttle\'s launchcraft boosters.Yeah, they\'re probably solid boosters, but 'our' solid boosters can not be sized up for this and decouplers would make our crafts at least three times as heavy.
  11. not necessarily. the center of a rotation exhibits no force at all, so it would be the best docking place.
  12. I don't see why this is a problem if I don't want to split up the fuel among the child engines.
  13. where are the batterys? as far as I know stations have to orbit planets several times a day to keep their altitute, which would put them in the planetary shadow at least half of the day.
  14. anyone else having troubles with this zip package? its probably encoded in some propertiary code that 7zip nor the windows zip handler can access or the upload simply broke.

  16. I was tired off waiting for side attachable liquid engines, this works just as well!
  17. how am i supposed to use the retros? closest to 'proper' i got was starting it and detaching the stage in two different steps. when i put it in the same stage, the retro is allways ignored. can't be right.
