What do you think the Mystery goo really is ?
Bob's Guardian Angel replied to ouion's topic in KSP1 Discussion
For serious... most likely a non-Newtonian fluid. I think maybe it's just kornstarch and water dyed a creepy color. -
Made of tinfoil.

Mod-friendly research tree.

I agree to this. -
Today I decided to launch a simple probe to Duna. While the rocket was large, I added several reaction wheels and generous RCS thrusters, like I had been advised to do for a large rocket. Then I launched it. It decided to flip itself over while the SAS did absolutely squat to keep it from spinning to the right. The SAS didn't apply any torque at all until it was about 45 degrees over, at which point the mission was unsalvageable. Any help?

Realistic Mode and Arcade mode.
Bob's Guardian Angel replied to Warsoul's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Warsoul ,I hate to say it, but you are just spamming the Suggestions forum trying to turn KSP into StarCraft. It's a rocket simulator, not a science-fiction game. -
I would appreciate if Squeegy could drop me a modpack for that custom railgun mod. Seems cool as hell.

Better Stock Crafts
Bob's Guardian Angel replied to Bob's Guardian Angel's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Next time the time limit WILL be smaller to make it more exciting/convenient. I'm thinking of going with Giggleplex, maybe making it two days. -

Better Stock Crafts

General commonsense items like parachutes, etc. It is a little open to interpretation but generally it means any way to decrease the chances of perishing in a fireball. -

Pretty is not necessary. Small and easy to use is GOOD! -
Could I trade a Melon Racer card for a Jebadiah card?

Better Stock Crafts
Bob's Guardian Angel replied to Bob's Guardian Angel's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Thank you sirs! These look good and I will test if they are easy to use. Voting will begin Friday. -
Hello all! A while ago I was browsing this thread and realized how many of the stock crafts simply don't seem good. While some are extremely useful and serve as good first steps to making workable designs, many are hard to use or simply don't fit with the structure of the game. So I decided, following the brilliant idea formulated by patrickcanttype, to make a community challenge that would update or replace stock crafts to make them better examples of efficient construction techniques. How will this work? Quite simply: Each week or so I will open a submission for a certain type of 'stock' craft and provide an existing official stock craft to replace. At the end of submissions, the forum community will vote on the best craft. Once the winner has been selected, they will receive bragging rights /a special thank-you/ anything else I can come up with. Important: I am changing the rules. Once we have accumulated at least eight craft we will open voting. This is to prevent voters from being hung up on the number of potential choices. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: 1. Make it SIMPLE, SAFE (relatively), and EASY to use. In most cases the stock crafts are used by newbies attempting to learn the controls better, so ease of use is a major factor. 2. Make it a good example to emulate. Use sensible design techniques and make it strong and reliable! 3a. Crafts must be compatible with current version of KSP. 3b. Crafts may not contain mods. This is a stock challenge, after all! 4. (IMPORTANT) Submit the right type of craft for the right week. Don't show us a spaceplane when we are looking for a lander! If you do, your submission will not be considered! 5. Follow all of the SPECIFIC submission guidelines for the type of craft that is eligible this week! 6. Put some pictures or a video to show or describe your craft. VOTING GUIDELINES: 1. Vote for the craft you feel best fits the guidelines. Vote for the safest, most practical crafts! 2. Don't vote for your own craft. With that in mind: THIS WEEK'S CATEGORY: Long-Distance Probe! Make an interplanetary probe that is small and efficient. Should have high Delta-V! Replaces: Ion-Powered Space Probe SUBMISSIONS: SkyRender's "Deep Space Probe" stupid_chris's "Ion Probe Replacement" Giggleplex777's "Ion Propelled Probe" ZingidyZongXXX's "Space Probe A" ThePsuedoMonkey's "HybrIon Probe" Grim187's Ion Probe series Spartwo's "Interstellar Probe Mk3" Flixxbeatz' "Ion Maiden" maro's "maro-technoir DSM" Francesco's "IonCross DSP" Captain Sierra's (untitled) Leaderboards: ____________________ Long-Distance Probe: 1. 2. 3.

Kerbals all over the world were elated by the first successful Mun landings and colonization efforts. However, the established infrastructure is aging, and we at the KEX launched a new program: the Kauna Kea Initiative. Named after a famous Kerbal observatory, the KKI is designed to stargaze and hold a crew of five scientists and workers, in conjunction with future plans for expansion. The first mission was headed by Thompoly Kerman, a brave Kerbal who was also the first Kerbal to walk on the Mun and had advocated for a return there. Liftoff! Burning to the Mun. Thompoly is halfway through his snack reserves. Orbital hooha. During correctional burns Thompoly caught sight of a beautiful Kerbin almost-eclipse. Landing next to an outdated piece of mission architecture. Thompoly is elated! Last few meters... Nailed it! Thompoly plants a flag. Up next: Crew transfer and work duties! I'll post more shortly!

Thompoly was my favorite Kerbal-he was the first to reach the moon

I Survived the Mun- mostly...

SUCCESS! Thorvald was rescued, but now we have another couple of Kerbals on the Mun. Great. Next up my job is to send down a scientific base and some rovers for them. Here's the picture. -

Quick update- rebuilt the vehicle from the ground up! It is now supposedly less likely to explode. Aw, we lost the protective cone. That's alright, we can still make it! Oh firetruck no.
