If you read the list of planned features I believe it says you will be able to build bases. Whether or not they can manufacture, I don't know, but I hope so! I am also hoping for refueling to come with docking- make really long flights easier. But then you would have to get fuel to refill the tanks in orbit, which means sending up fueling rockets, which require fuel to get up... To much effort for that? I dunno. But I just had an epic idea. In-orbit VAB.
