The last Five years of STS flights almost exclusively dealt with supporting the ISS, not an ignoble end, but still not the best that could have been done. Possible, IF you want to wait another 100 years for them to decide it's profitable. Private industry? Not going to happen, do you really see Branson doing a mission without first class accomidations? I have no idea at this point, maybe aliens contacted us and said to stay home or get whooped, it seems all we do is one step backwards anymore.

Well Dad, evidently it is! The ability of programers and gamers has pretty much surpassed the abilities (and computer memory) of my early days. Heck, they took a man to the moon and brought him back with less computing power than what is found in a cheap digital watch. Slide rulers and long form have given way to CAD designs and Gigs of data. This game uses more memory than all Apollo flights together, man I feel old. Time for a Martini and the hot tub...

I was lucky enough to see STS 3 land at White Sands back in 82. Not as good as watching a launch, but a darn fine memory none the less. If all you need to be called a 'Space Port' is lots of flat land, then New Mexico wins the game.
