About me
Bottle Rocketeer
-
I built a machine from old parts running a Duo 1.86Ghz clocked to 2.4Ghz which just wasn't fast enough for this game.
-
Isn't it amazing how they actually landed on the moon with less computing power than it takes to run this game
-
I got it running quite well on 256mb Vram, 2.4ghz dual core and 1gb ram, but it would struggle on take off and re-entry, and would crash after v20 was released. Runs like a dream on my main machine though: 2gb Vram, [email protected] and 16gb ram.

a) Though it is a plasma and not technically fire, it sure does look fiery and it is hot. There is nothing sluggish about the flames/plasma/whatever in the Apollo vid c) They look clearly orange at times to me Finally, if you don't think the old Apollo re-entry footage is spectacular then that is your opinion, but I think it is very spectacular and that is what I want to see when I look out of the window when I'm in there with the Kerbals, all I'm seeing at the moment is the view.

What kind of Hardware do you use to run KSP
bainbridge replied to acidr4in's topic in KSP1 Discussion
2500k @ 4.6ghz 16gb ddr3 6950 I am the bottleneck in my system. -
Getting into a stable orbit around Kerbin was the pinnacle for me. First Mun landing was good, as was exploring the system, but just getting into space was my highlight. I run the game with stock parts and settings and still can't dock!!

How long did it take you to dock ...

I still can't dock, got within 100m. I can't get both ships on exactly the same plane. -
Please help me align the planes for docking

Excellent thanks, 1km and closing! -

Thanks for your reply Vanamonde, I'll give it a go now. PS can you please explain the green orbit ring which appears once I'm locked on target? Instead of the Apoapsis and Periapsis there are ascending and descending nodes. What is this all about? -
Had to OC my 2500k to 4.6GHZ to get reasonable framerates on takeoff, one of the most cinematic bits of the mission IMO. Even after the overclock I had to reduce the number of sepatrons to get a smoothish launch. However hard it is to get this game running on multicores it's worth it.

Thanks for all your replies folks, looks like I have a whole load of new stuff to learn if I want to get the most out of this game! Also thanks for the warm welcome
