  1. Thats actually an interesting idea that could add another flavor of difficulty to the game. Only problem I can see with this is changing how you play career mode. The devs balanced the game to give you science, money and rep depending on where you are in the game. Hard mode makes those rewards much less so you have less room for error and makes you have to have a more thoughtful "design and piloting". Moving the KSC away from the equator would require a rebalance of the reward system so its actually possible to make it into orbit. Or maybe i'm just overestimating how much it would scale the difficulty, definitely a good idea though.
  2. People have already spent millions on space tourism and I cant imagine the bussiness getting any smaller. companies are already offering more than whats already been done. The value in this is obvious, the beauty of space. I'm still baffled by how cool KSP can look even 500 hours into the game, there is something about seeing space that you'll never be able to fully replicate on earth. If I wanted to make a business "in space" tourism would be on the top of my list.
  3. Dangit im stuck at school till 8 PM ):, been fun riding the hype with you guys cant wait to see all the new stuff!
  4. I told ya guys we were gonna reach 500! 600 here we come
  5. Were breaking EVERYTHING! KerbalX, the fourms, the FREAKIN LAWS OF PHYSICS
  6. I think we made Einstein roll in his grave a long time ago
  7. This quantum waveform is going to bring us to page 500!
  8. You dont need that old junk where this trains goin
  9. The train is going BEYOND THE THEORETICAL LIMITS OF SANITY HOW FAST MUST WE GO?
  10. Bring a laptop and claim you're doing physics work. The hype train stops for none!
  11. Meanwhile the Kerbal AMD engineers back off...
  12. I think most of the passengers have just fallen asleep
  13. I would disagree After playing this game for far too long new challenges are needed. Missions and only a limited amount of funds and parts to do it makes the game "hard" again. Getting into orbit is suddenly a challenge again if the game forces you to only a few parts. I can see how you wouldn't want to be confined but after you've built your super Jool space station, landed every rover design imaginable on Duna and constructed a super mother ship the game starts to get a bit stale. Thanks to career I cant do all that stuff unless I rationalize and think into the future which is really all this game is about
  14. What about a compromise that takes only the best out of procedural planets? For example there could be a planet (and only one planet) that is different whenever you start a new game with a seed. This makes it so the entire community can still have all the base planets along with another planet that's slightly different every time you come to it. You don't even have to change the name, nobody goes to dres anyways why not spice it up a little?
  15. Besides mario 64 my favorite old game would have to be homworld 2 to this day I have not played such a fub rts game
  16. Not sure if the rest of the world realized this a long time or not at all but the ending to portal is wrong After playing KSP for about a whole year now and I have realized that if you need to get out of the moons SOI you would need an incredible force all at once (a.k.a all the air coming out of the portal) and since wheatly didnt crash back onto the moon obviously all the force needed to get into orbit around earth or even around the sun would be so immense that you wouldn't be able to hold onto anything and chells arms would've ripped off. I'm no physicist but aren't I correct?
  17. Im excited for the tech tree aspect of the game, being able to slowly upgrade my space program sound fun
  18. I would say atleast 8000 minimum because on scott manly's videos that the usual amount of course not everyone watches youtube so it could be different
  19. It actually can work IRL ive seen it on youtube but the guy said it only works for about 20 min D: As for it being in KSP..., idk because the solar panals will only give electricity when in direct contanct of the sun that why you cant even get a small amount of charge from an explosion or light from the mun Only one way to find out
  20. everything from I think late october 2012- April 2012 was destroyed, stinks to have you account wiped luckily mine was at the very edge of the destruction so I lost literlially everything but my account Anyways welcome back to the fourms
  21. Some mods like hyper edit seem like a great idea at first but totally ruin the game play. I used to play a game called civilization 4 it was a good game it was challenging, fun and creative but i found this button called "world editor" What it did was basically make it so you can spawn units in and tip the balance of the game. After I discovered it I vowed to never touch and i would play completly letgit but eveytime the game got even a bit hard I would always glance up at the darn world edit button and finally i started to use it Then I started to use it more and more, eventually the game wasnt challenging anymore and i grew board of it. What I am trying to say is use mods at your own risk personally I think there are some amzing mods out there that make the game so much more fun but keep in mind its only yourself that your cheating if you do use a cheat mod
  22. http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Planned_features Not entirely certain if this is updated regularly but the stuff shaded in blue is usually for the next update hope this helps
  23. I checked those mods and they still deal with parts, I was wondering if for some reason you were not allowed to make some kind of mod that its totally different from parts such as changing the landscape of a planet or even adding a new solar system or something that dose not have anything to do with parts
