  1. Hello all, I've been doing pretty well with KSP since I started a few weeks ago. Landed on Duna, Eve, Mun, Minmus, built a handful of stations and ships/landers. My problem is, my main interplanetary ship can make it to Duna, but does not have enough fuel to come back. I get it back into orbit ok but then need to send another ship to dock and and save the Kerbals, thief the leftover fuel and burn back to Kerbin. I'm looking for some Craft files of your interplanetary designs so I can learn from them. If your willing to share your ideas that would be great. I don't have a picture of my ship since I'm at work. (Working hard or hardly working..) The current design is - Docking port - 1 Roc ASAS - 1 Roc Mono tank - 6 landing struts - a crew module - a three man pod - a rover on top that I change up it's release method for none atmospheric planets. - 6 Small solid boosters to do the first burn to leave Kerbin enroute to Duna. Then they are released - 12 of the large size cans one on top of the other to make 6 doubles (The cans are same diameter of the Nuke engine's can't remember the name of them) - 6 Nuke engines * It makes it into Kerbin orbit full of fuel. I have it setup to release the upper 6 cans when they are empty and for take off from Duna I can release 4 more to leave 2 fuel cans and the 2 Nuke engines for lift off. This will get it into orbit but not even close enough fuel to head back to Kerbin let alone slow down when I get there. Also, my additional concerns being that if I can't go and come back from Duna, how am I going to be able to even attempt Jool. I need to learn some better designs. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  2. Ok guys, thank you very much for the info. Just removed it and problem solved. It's a shame.
  3. Is it confirmed that this MOD does this?
  4. Good day all, happy Friday! Perhaps one of you can help me answer this. I've suddenly ran into a problem where each and every rocket (Including the default rockets) I launch causes the LSE's to explode once I release them and engage the engines. I've always had the engines and LSE's release in the same first stage with no problems before. I recently installed the Lazor system for the docking CAM but that is the only mod I put in recently and it seems rigt after that I now have this problem. This is causing my heavy rockets to wobble baddly in the first few meters and only my extremly solid builds survive. Any ideas how to fix?
  5. Let's slow down a little. He wouldn't reply as the "Community manager" if he was no longer with Squad. We wanted info or some sign of life, we got that. Let wait and see what comes of it. Ok back to my atempts in building my moon base. Wish me luck...
  6. That's good news. It's a good idea to update your drivers as "thetommygunyeah" says if your problems persist. I had problems with crashing at the beginning as well but thanks to KSP tech support we figured out it was a driver issue. Also check your vbios is up to date as well. I run on a laptop so I had to upgrade not only my Nvidia drivers, but my Intel graphics as well. I still have a little bit of lag in the game but no crashing or blue screens. But that's more due to the age of the laptop and not a driver issue.
  7. Ok thanks guy. I'll give Mechjeb 2 a shot. Did a few more tests yesterday. I found that a mix of manual and Mechjeb worked out best. But ultimately I only used Mechjeb for the last 3k since I had to land on an angle to save the Kerbals. Unfortunately the rover I built and tested on Kerbin didn't fair too well on Duna. But it's all about trial and error right !
  8. Hello, I trying to find the most fuel efficient way to land. I've landed on Duna twice manually and a third time with Mechjeb but all three times where different ships. I'm trying to figure out which is the most fuel efficient way to descend to land. Mechjeb slows the ship down and then uses the engines almost the whole way down to keep speed at about 400+. When I do it manually, I would get to about 15k (Duna atmosphere) and pound on the accelerator to bring me down from 800+ to a vertical decent as fast as possible. I'm wondering if the full burn I do is more fuel efficient than the way Mechjeb does it? As a second part to my question ...The only reason I wanted to try Mechjeb was because on Duna it is much harder to pin point a specific spot to land (i.e. save stranded Kerbals) than it is to do manually. (For my novice skill set that is) But not only do I think Mechjeb is less fuel efficient, it still ends up being at least 60-80 km away from the target which I can do manually anyways. I start with "Land on target" from a 100km orbit. Do I need to have a higher or lower orbit to help Mechjeb hit the spot?
  9. Hello, can anyone let me know where the newest link is for the Kethane pack. I've been searching and found one from October, but I'm not sure if it is the newest one. Is it still this one ? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/23979-Kethane-Pack-0-4-3-Download-link-now-up-to-date-after-forum-catastrophe
  10. Hello all, I'm looking for a link to a ship capable of lifting a lot of fuel into orbit. I finally designed a ship capable of lifting a full orange take to the station I have in orbit but it still makes for a lot of trips to fill it. I'm sure someone has designed a ship that can lift large payloads. I need some ideas. Also, the ship I designed CAN get a full can up there, but usually I need to re-launch about 4-6 times to get "lucky" that it doesn't fall apart during ascent.... Thanks
  11. Same thing happened to me before I noticed the probe was out of power. When you use time accelerate the power drains instantly for the most part. I put on some batteries and a solar panel to counteract.
