Trust me, you'll see it from Orlando as long as there is no cloud coverage. Downtown Orlando is some 45 miles from the pad. I live about 130 miles away and can see every launch as long as the skies are clear. Enjoy the show!

Oddly enough the explosions so far. I accepted a contract to test a radial decoupler while landed on kerbin. "Rocket" had only two parts, capsule and decoupler. Hit the space bar and watched the decoupler fly 250m and land in a giant fireball. Laughed my butt off.

Mun and minmus are given. Also landed manned on duna, probe on Ike and in orbit of Moho. Still got the rest of the system to go. And like you I've been most productive on exploration with 24.2. Had the game since 18.1

Landed a probe on Ike for the first time... Got Jeb enroute to Duna. See how that plays out, would be first manned landing outside Kerbin and its moons, but depends on fuel after duna capture. And a probe on its way to Eve.

Just use notepad or some other text editor. Guaranteed to work!

It hasnt changed mine too much. I was playing on an 2008 i3 laptop with a generic low end graphics card, so my ships were low in parts count anyway. Recently upgraded to a much nicer machine, but kept the practice. I focus the ships around two or three contracts, note the total payoff for successful contracts and strive to keep costs below half of that, which is easier than I expected. That way I'm not obsessing with trying to recover every dang part like so many on this board is trying to do. Plus easy extra money to do non paying missions.

Its lag hell on my win 8 i7 16g ram laptop. even the title screens are lagging...went back to original version for now. I can wait.

I'm hoping that in the future you can use funds and science to upgrade your existing parts. For example, upgrading an engine would see in increase in thrust, isp or a weight reduction.

Just remember... you dont HAVE to do every contract. There's a big red x next to the green checkmark. Hit it and say next contract please. That said... sometimes the contracts sound so stupid, your curiosity gets the betterf of you.... happened to me a few times.

Mine had been forgetting to do science to unlock new techs. Here I am playing and wondering why I keep doing atmosphere testing of stuff. Talk about a hard facepalm when I realized why...
