Favorite place to get a burrito?
Capt.Joseph Kerbertson replied to Capt.Joseph Kerbertson's topic in The Lounge
Get outta here... J/k. Before I knew any better, gas station burritos were the bomb. Then I moved to Texas... holy crap, had I been deprived. -
Nobody is saying it's not. I think he's just saying he doesn't understand the logic behind destroying ones own neighborhood for the sake of being angry. It doesn't make sense, riots in general don't make sense. Protests I understand. Be angry, shout, band together and shout together, but riots... completely different mentality.

Not sure what you've seen, but the evidence showed there was a struggle, that the "eyewitness" was in fact wrong on all counts. There is over 4700 pages of evidence, none of it points to cold blooded murder. The only abuse of power I've seen was the initial response to the riots back in August.

This is on wireless. Nighthawk router, n600 wireless adapter. comcast.

People aren't understanding how a grand jury is selected or how long they serve. It's not like the normal process where you take a summons to the courthouse and are selected for the day (it's called a petit jury). They are chosen at random, either through voter registration or drivers license. Public safety officers are automatically excused because it would be a burden. Some grand jury's sit for up to 3 years once selected and are very specific in what they do. They aren't there to determine guilt or innocence, they are there to determine if there is enough evidence to go to trial.

They are finding that the majority of trouble makers arrested are not from the area. They are just there for a fight, there to stir the pot.

No, it has to do with this : http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/08/14/michael-brown-ferguson-missouri-timeline/14051827/

The sun. For reasons.

I don't think any one person should be the representative for the whole of humanity. It should be a group, representing the wide variation of the human species. While the military has our interests at heart, I don't think we should display our clubs to someone so advanced that they have traveled the great expanse of space to visit the smallest of worlds. Musicians, artists, poets, engineers, mathematicians, geneticists these are the people that should show them who humanity really is.

What do you think of bullying and what is being done?
Capt.Joseph Kerbertson replied to CelticCossack51's topic in The Lounge
In terms of bullying here is my frame of thought. I have two kids (teens now). 1. Communication. If it happens speak up. You'll continue to be bullied if the situation isn't drug into the light and shown for what it is. 2. Confrontation doesn't always work, but sometimes it does. Calling them out on their bull mess can cause more friction, but it can also show their own insecurities and often times rally people to your cause. The more people the bully bullies, the more folks will step forward when someone has the intestinal fortitude to stand up to them. Standing up doesn't always involve fist to cuffs, but be prepared (it's only a temporary pain, and you'll feel so much better that you stood up for yourself). 3. Involve authority figures. You have parents for a reason, they are there to stand up for you when you can't. When they get the school involved and the school does nothing, parents know where to escalate things to ensure it gets taken care off. The principle has a boss, they answer to someone and all campuses have adopted zero tolerance policies in regards to bullying. If the problem isn't getting solved at a school level, the superintendent doesn't want to hear their school isn't protecting students from harm. 4. Make yourself less of a target. I know this sounds harsh, but you are being singled out. This isn't the time to hide, it's the time to make friends. Be in a crowd, the more friends you have, the less likely it is you'll get bullied. Adulthood isn't the same animal at all as highschool/teenagerhood at all. Most adults have chilled out by the time they reach 25, you wind up making friends with the guys who would have been bullies in their day and find out they had their own issues. You find common ground. Adults tend to communicate as opposed to chest thumping. If I have a problem with someone or something they did, I let them know. I don't go behind their back. I expect the same treatment. In my adult years, I have yet to get in a fist fight. I fought all the time as a teen. I'm turning 37 in January. -
I just picked me up a super monster from Freebirds , grilled steak, white cilantro rice, monterey jack cheese, refried beans, queso, pico de gallo, onion, on 2 12 inch flour tortillas... all wrapped up in 15 sheets of foil. Thing is as thick as my forearm and just as long. Where do you get your favorite burrito from? What do you get on it?

Would this be able to run KSP at acceptable framerates?
Capt.Joseph Kerbertson replied to Rainbowtrout's topic in The Lounge
My kids A-10 with a dedicated R9 270 plays anything on high settings. Those APU's are amazing little chips. -
Couldn't afford the beta. 70 bucks... really?

If you keep up with your teeth, there aren't any problems. Strangely, if you neglect them, they tend to decay, making your visit to the dentist an unpleasant one. Being an adult has blessed me with some wisdom on this subject.

I love helos. For all intents and purposes, it shouldn't fly, helicopters don't want to fly. But they do and most of the time, gracefully.

Capt.Joseph Kerbertson replied to xtoro's topic in The Lounge
I did it because I could I guess is the best answer. Wife gave the go ahead for a gaming rig, I went all out. If I had to do it over, I would have gone with a slightly cheaper GPU and did SLI instead. I still can't touch my GPU for under 400 and it's getting old, but it blows the 7 series away -
Not really any different.

yup. She also makes something called Rushki?, it's a sweet bread with walnuts and raisins. Not sure if you've heard of it.

Do you like broccoli and other vegetables?
Capt.Joseph Kerbertson replied to bartekkru99's topic in The Lounge
Absolutely love veggies. Raw, cooked all good. It's weird, as a child they made me gag. -
Every christmas we: 1. wife makes cheese triangles. Mmmmm. Feta stuffed pastries 2. kids and I make puppy chow (aka muddy buddies) 3. roast a 70 lbs pig. We feed around 20 people (friends and family) Halloween consists of everyone in the house dressing up (scary), decorating the outside of the house with fog machines, strobes and lots of costume blood and we scare the crap out of the neighborhood. This will be our 8th year. Neighborhood kids love it, family and friends stop by and hangout. We dole out about 9 lbs of candy (that's a lot of candy)
