  1. Don't worry, they have crash-protection. I crashed a rocket into the box, and the game crashed!
  2. I put Jeb, Bill, and Bob in a little protective box by the launchpad for this reason. They can't escape, but they do have a good view of rocket launches/crashes.
  3. I decided to put Jeb, Bill, and Bob in a prison protective box (with a great view) by the launchpad so they don't die. Then, I decide to make a "small" space station in Kerbin orbit, and on the second launch, I decided to see how "protective" the box was. I crashed the rocket into the box, and the game crashed.
  4. Do you have fine control on? HarvesteR said somewhere that when you have it on, the RCS will auto-correct it's thrust depending on how far away it is from the CoM, like it did before 0.18.
  5. I also agree. From what I have experienced, the new ASAS system seems "weaker" and less responsive. Before, the ASAS will immediately lock into place when I turn it on, but now, when I let go of the controls, it doesn't lock immediately into place like before.
  6. See this. Edit: Saw something pop up in the bottom-right... FHSDJKALHF SDJKASEFAJKSDFHJKASDFASDASDFASDFADTGOQWEURIKJFHWJKADFS
  7. Yes, the engines with a larger specific impulse are more efficient, and engines are more efficient in a vacuum than in an atmosphere.
  8. He did help me make a better gravity turn. Before, I did it at 30 km until he showed me. He also taught me some real rocketry, too.
  9. Other than the awesome new SAS system, there isn't that much new in 0.21 that radically changes the gameplay, at least for me. I do like the revamped KSC and Kerbin, but it seems that the "smaller, more frequent updates" is just "smaller updates". The change from 0.16, released in July, to 0.17, released in September, was a major, game-breaking update (added planets if you don't know), yet it only took 2 months. 0.18, also a big update, took nearly three months. Yet, 0.19 took three months but wasn't a huge update like the previous two, and the same for 0.20. I still love the game and the devs are working quite hard at the game and trying to make the game less buggy, but it seems that progress has slowed in the last few updates. Let's hope that 0.22 would have more.
  10. If this is true, then I will immediately place Jeb, Bill, and Bob in a small, protected box in front of the launchpad to forever watch rockets launch that they can't go on. Unless, of course, I have a "completely safe" and tested rocket that will take the trio to some base or station, and put them in another box.
  11. That is simply how the game places things. Rotating it will just make it clip into the part it is placed on. Try placing structural pieces or the rectangular wings so you can place the triangular one on those wings.
  12. I would let him play Kerbal Space Program and see how well he does.
  13. Bought the game at 0.15. It was the jet engines that really wanted me to get the game, and ironically, I suck at planes.
  14. Thanks Galacticruler. I just got it.
  15. The sale ends today and it is really cheap at $4. I'm not sure whether it is worth it or not. I may end up getting it, but I'm not sure.
  16. After playing around with the Thrust Corrector, I feel that it makes jets quite overpowered. Turbojets normally barely get up to 225 kN at higher altitudes, but this makes it peak at nearly double that at 450 kN, which is great!
  17. It seems they are using 0.17, which was before the graphics overhaul of 0.18 and the ambient music in the VAB/SPH and space, which may explain the graphics and sound ratings.
  18. Assuming craft files still work, you can put all the modules of the station together in the VAB, transfer that craft into the 0.21 download (when it comes), and edit the persistence file to get it into the same orbit.
  19. I am currently designing a mostly stock replica of the Apollo 11 mission, using a lot of part clipping. So far, I have this:
  20. You can actually place a radial attachment point or a docking port on top of a parachute, so you can put a nose cone or something else on top of it.
