Im pretty sure i figured out your mistake since I got a v1 of 278m/s and a v2 of 242m/s first off your μ is wrong according to the wiki the gravitational parameter of Kerbin is 3.5316000*10^12 m^3/s^2 which will throw things off second and im not sure if this will really cause too much error but i also added the radius of Kerbin which is 600,000m to r1 and r2 so they are r1 = 700,000m and r2 = 1,200,000m I also kept everything in terms of meters instead of converting to km then back to meters
  2. Ive been trying to fly the current Munbug and I've had no attitude control when the csm and Mem are docked making it rather difficult to get the space craft into orbit around the mun. Had this problem in 20.2 as well so i dont know what it is.
  3. I really like your gemini/titan 2 launcher, and like you said i had barley enough fuel to get a 89 by 68 km orbit. Keep up the good work

  5. So I've been experimenting with gravity boost's lately, namely Duna though Eeloo, and through experimenting my results have been inconclusive A. B. Now my gut and mathematical degree tells me that image A. should raise my orbit but my results haven't been very conclusive Ive also been able to boost my orbit with a B. type flyby but in both instances I've only been able to boost my orbit back to Kerbin and the DeltaV required to get to Duna would have been more than a direct trip from Kerbin. I guess my two questions are: 1. is this type of maneuver not beneficial by a limitation of the game 2. which encounter is ideal for a gravity assist

No i have no problem with a standard docking procedure, my Mun ship is also a clonepollo type. the problem is that the stack is terribley unstable, and i dont know i just like the stack seperators more than the decouplers. but i would seperate the csm from the stack and it would start spinning uncontrollably.
  8. Well first off you know its a good rocket if it lags my computer lol. S-IVB fuel tanks arn't connected to the rocket so when i was mid burn i had to scramble to move the fuel from the full tanks to the empty one that fed the rocket. Also shouldn't you use a stack seperator instead of a decoupler between the CSM and the lander its also a pain in the butt to dock the two, so much so i had to cancel the mission right there, and i was so looking forward to using that lander oh well, I really like it though

So I have been working on a Apollo type rocket (modeled after the Apokee design that was here on the forum's I feel bad that I don't remember the poster's name) to get my kerbals to the mun and back safely, everything was going great... My earth departure stage had just enough fuel to get into a near perfect Munar encounter and the CSM has plenty of fuel to do all the things that it needs to do to get the kerbals back safely to Kerbin. Any way after a few of theses missions going off with out a hitch I decided to put a munar rover to my MEM, so i did a very minamalistic design and weighs next to nothing and really shouldn't affect the rocket what so ever but now when I try to launch the damn thing it just blows up on the launch pad for no reason. The first thing to go wrong on the mission log is the stack seperator that connects the descent stage and ascent stage of my MEM is "coming into contact with" the fuel tank for the descent stage and everything goes to hell which is suppose to happen, so i dont really understand why its failing so bad if anyone has a suggestion that would be very helpful. Before attaching the rover After attaching the rover so as you can see i didnt really change anything except remove a few struts (that i feel were unnecessary anyway) to keep them from clipping into the rover.
