I love the fact that there are different cousins of the Kraken. I can imagine them playing poker at the table next to the dogs
-
I have many > rocketxxxx Mk IV's because Mk I 'sploded on the launchpad, MkII forgot RCS, and Mk III may or may not have had parachutes.

Best quote on the thread so far.

gonna be honest with you guys, almost voted for Arduino, that things freakin awesome.

I'm going to have to agree with you a bit. I love that my missions have a purpose now. To go forth and acquire (god, doesn't that look like a strange word?) science. For the first time I have an actual Space Program. Notice the capitalization. I've got three or four iterations of three different base rockets, and that makes me really happy. However, the set number of points with a multiplier marking down points really gets me the "grind" feel. You get a new science part, and the only thing you do with it is run it through the exact same profiles you did all of your previous launches, to maximize points gained. I feel like it's science by rote, which science should not be. A possible "fix." The game gives you and your space program a certain low amount of Science per mission, with your instruments giving you a chanceTo: Breakthrough! This way, you just keep launching missions as best as you can, but sometimes, you get that little "Extra" that makes the game worth it. I dunno though, You're listening to the ramblings of an inebriated Eskimo, and I think I'm done here.

It looks like he knows one of two answers to the question "What does my rocket need?" In this case, moar struts.
-
The thing that makes it look normal is his understanding and ability of perspective, it's perfect. Nothing stands out because it looks like it's in the wrong frame/focus. It's actually pretty amazing.

To me, the word Kerbal is almost synonymous with the adage "trial-and-error." We try many crazy things, blow them up unintentionally, generally quite spectacularly, go back the the VAB and try again. Eventually, we come out with something that has a function and works well. It's different than real life because our missions take place in the same place as our simulations do. SpaceX did many hours upon hours of maths, and simulations, and engineering things that MIGHT go wrong, because well, a 10-story rocket costs a whole butt-ton of money. It's not cost effective to just slap together a fuel tank with an engine with a new guidance system "just to see what happens" We do this in the blink of an eye, because other than a little bit of guilt at slamming Bob, Jeb, and Bill into Kerbin at hypersonic speeds, it doesn't actually cost us anything. Edit: This

Holy crap, thanks for linking that. Should be a stock option

So you've got your engines forward of the center of mass, your yaw/pitch movements are going to be reversed. See what happens when you turn off SAS, and see if you can't keep it in mind that the controls are reversededed.

New Space-X rocket is the most Kerbal rocket I've ever seen in real life
eskimo replied to ultra86's topic in The Lounge
Because rockets are simple. Everything I've heard about SpaceX's hardware has had the KISS principle applied to it. Now, their software and their vision? They're doing more, pushing harder, trying NEW things with rockets. -
You know whackjob, you are by far the most unique player on the forums here. As soon as I saw the screenshot, I thought "Holy crap, whackjobs at it again." And sure enough, I look over to see who posted, yup, whackjob. I like to think that your launches are the epitome of "I think I can, I think I can"

I especially love the "Space (essentially)" above 30 clicks -
Invent a name for the first city on Kerbin.
eskimo replied to Custard Donut (In Space)'s topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well, looking at some names, we have a Jamestown, named for James, a Yorktown for York, a Georgetown for George, we gotta have a Kermantown. It'll be near Launchton -
I primarily fly rockets in KSP, and I just started using a gamepad for it. Left stick gets yaw and pitch. Right stick gets translation on the lateral and vertical axis, while the left thumbstick click is translate forward, right thumb click is aft. Roll, not as important for a rocket IMHO, gets the shoulder buttons. Seems to be working out pretty good so far.

I believe the most underrated one is The Mun; come for our rocks, stay because your rocket sucks

Well, if you move the the, then sentence makes sense

You don't need any plugins, just right click your command pod (or probe) and hit rename vehicle or vessel, let's you rename it and give it the desired icon.

So, my 4-year old son has been watching me play KSP, and...
eskimo replied to capi3101's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Imagination is freakin awesome. and I wouldn't mind seeing any of these in the game. I've got a four year old myself, and in our early days we had some...... issues with the spacebar. We now have a standard procedure for separation of stages, it doesn't happen without a countdown, which he loves. He always asks me when we're gonna play the "Green-guy-game" -

I am the Phoenix, rising from the ashes of 9 or 10 posts. Didn't take as long to burn as I thought it might. -
I was starting to get bored myself. Then I downloaded the remotetech mod. Holy crap, talk about a complete change in style of play. Enjoying the hell out of setting up a good LKO satellite network, and eventually an interplanetary one. As for waiting for updates? I'm OK with their current style, Because I don't want to wake up on X of Y and find out an updates been delayed until Z. Waking up with a "holy crap, .20 is out, I hope I miss the server crash" is a great, great surprise.

You know, I think I might buy this game after I get paid in November, too many bills this month, spent all my money on halloween candy. Do ya'll think it's worth it?
