Safecracking challenge
CatastrophicFailure replied to klond's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
So, I gave this challenge a try... ...and the safe opened itself as soon as I hit space. Poor Bill. So then I decided to take a page from @qzgy's book and just take off and nuke the site from orbit about 5000m. After all, it's the only way to be sure. And then I sort of destroyed the entire universe. But that safe is now cracked! -

Interesting useless factoid I just made up compiled: Out Of 90 worldwide launch attempts this year, 18 were from SpaceX. That’s Around 20%. So they, alone, launched as many rockets as China (more, if ignoring China’s 2 failures), nearly as many as Russia (20), and about 2/3 of all US launches (29). So they were effectively the third busiest launch provider in the entire world, and their only real competition in terms of numbers were the world’s second and third largest economies. Russia’s still the third largest behind China and us, right? ...and people said they’d never even hit double digits this year. lies, damned lies, and statistics pilfered from Wikipedia. -
NO. Tho it seems @Ten Key is around...

What @IncongruousGoat said, also the fairings are supposed to have steerable parawings, so hitting a great-huge-net-sized net in the middle of the ocean shouldn’t be that insurmountable. -
Dagnabbut I'm trying to sleep, here! Go pester @qzgy.

Nah, based on @tater‘s retweet it’s just having a nice lay down after all that Heavy lifting. -
BRB, going to juice some Kerbals... Nah, it’s basically just an image for eye candy. One of these days, there will be a space game with particle-based, physical, gravitationally accurate ring systems. And it will be glorious... and probably pay-to-play...

Aaaaaaand there goes a mental image I did not need. *shudders* Hm. I may need to find some taller hills...

I would think you’ve got a few days, at least. The static fire won’t be this week, sadly. What we will see first (maybe this week) is FH rolled out and erected at the pad for fit and fueling checks. Might even need more than one, the static fire will come some time after. (Read: days) -

So... sounds like they got there fast... then took it slow... [cue epic sax] If she’s anything like that other Saffron, can’t say I blame him... If you don’t have Netflix it’s also on iTunes. And worth the coin if you get the boxed set from Amazon or even used off eBay. -

This is one that’s worth seeing . I think you’d enjoy it. -
And what a blast from the past. The level of detail you put into these sequences never ceased to amaze me. How much is borrowed from actual Apollo procedures?
