  1. FWIW, according to a comment on this article referencing a NASA tv presser, the leak is in the helium spin-up system and shouldn't be a problem. That seems funny tho, why would a second stage launching a Dragon capsule need a spin up system at all?
  2. Quite right. This will be the first ever daytime RTLS landing, so with no squirrelly over-the-horizon communication to get garbled in the final moments, the live footage should be pretty spectacular.
  3. Update #1, day 34. And so it begins. The Machine spat out instructions this time. First, launch a vessel. Second, learn something new about this strange place. Then it spat out a bunch of parts, some sort of chits, and something that looked like week-old pastrami. Smelt like it, too. At any rate, 'the Machine' sounds too ominous, so I tasked Andrei with naming it, if only to distract him from the pastrami. We are now calling it the General Entropy Negation Engine, or GENE. I suppose it's as good a name as any. GENE wants us to launch a vessel. That much, at least, was straightforward. It's small, but at least nothing exploded. Except Vlad. I warned him to stay away from the pastrami. For now, we're all going to get some rest. Mostly because GENE is quietly humming something about a daisy and it's creeping us all out.
  4. Hi, this has probably been covered somewhere in the thread but I'm not seeing it at all in the wiki either. Basically, how can I turn off/waaay down science gain from Development? Just using the default profile I'm getting like 16 science/day, and when it takes 20-30 days to build a rocket, kinda killing the challenge.
  5. This Saturday, 7am pacific/10 am eastern/can't add right UTC. Weather looking iffy, but this article says they're finally going for an RTL landing again. https://spaceflightnow.com/2017/02/15/weather-could-stand-in-way-of-falcon-9-launch-saturday/
  6. Start you miserable piece of PЏҬЇЍ! I swear, I will personally have you shipped to Kerberia! I have to get to eternity you ЬЯЭZЊИЄVЇЙG SҐДLЇЇЍSԞҰ GФЯБДҪҢԐVЇЍG GДДДДДДДДДДҢ!!!!!
  7. My memory is still foggy... all of ours are. No one remembers exactly what happened. The greatest minds from all over the Union were gathered together for this, and now, they are stranded here the same as the rest of us. Andrei and Vladislav are convinced the Empress herself was somehow involved. Me, I'm not so sure. Our prospects now are mixed, at best. We can breathe the air, there is something on the ground that looks like grass, but I don't think we're on Kerbin anymore. And who the PЦҬЇЍ is Toto?? At any rate, we can live here... and the Machine keeps spitting out food. Although honestly the term "food" is a bit of a stretch. But the skies... They are like nothing any of us have ever seen before. An enormous moon hangs in the sky, painted blue and green and red. Other travellers beckon too, but the stars... there are no stars. Only angry, burning clouds of crimson. Somehow, it is fitting. It seems we have all we need for the mission, to build a glorious space program for our glorious Union. But we have not heard from them in... I'm not sure how long. I'm beginning to doubt we ever will again. Yet we will press on, if only for lack of anything better to do. The work will keep idle hands from thinking too long on the situation. From the ground up, we shall forge a space program! We shall reach out to the strange sights in the sky, and learn about this, our brave new world! And perhaps, in doing so, we shall find our own way back to our glorious Union. Could it be so simple? Could these constructs of fire and metal become the bridge between worlds, the vessels to carry us on the long journey home? ЍЧЄҬ.
  8. Oooooh it has an actual atmosphere?! Is reaching it even possible? How bout landing? Maybe if I go at night, hmm...
  9. Re-he-heally? And it's just a simple matter of unzipping a folder to Texture Replacer?
  10. Well, landing a rocket is quite literally applying the product of mass and acceleration...
  11. As always, your determination is the stuff of legend. Ancient Norse legend, apparently...
  12. Brilliant! That worked like a charm, I can even throw some GPP flags in to spice it up a bit. In other news, with great trepidation, here's my Rald/GPP setup-in-a-box: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aawzgg8o0b9ig0o/MyRald.zip?dl=0 It's probably very inefficient if not very broken altogether. IF anyone's actually gonna try it, please please please backup your backups, then back them up again to a thumb drive and put it in a safe deposit box in Switzerland. And now, after much ado, I think I'm gonna actually go and play this sucker for once!
  13. Cool... now how can I corrupt such a thing to my own uses? (So that future updates of the decal mod won't break the flags I want to put in.)
  14. Quick question @Galileo: The GPP sub-group for Decal Stickers, how'd you do that? Is it an add-on MM config or something the other author included?
  15. Did that change quasi-recently? I seem to remember seeing a big black blotch before?
  16. So, apparently for eclipses to work at all, first you have to turn them back on in the main menu. I know, right?? I'm completely shocked! Er... Tho they're not quite eclipsing... more like, making a big hole in the scatterer effect? Do terrain shadows need to be on too or am I missing something else ridiculously obvious? (Rald is behind the barrel. It's not a big barrel.)
  17. Any ideas on the eclipse not working? Can moons cast eclipses on other moons or just the parent body? Maybe that's throwing it off...
  18. The idea is to work up to it. Given that their last kerfuffle was launchpad related and this is a brand new pad, I hope their checks are very thorough. They were pretty close to that cadence before September...
  19. Well, I did just that. And just did that. The only weird reaction I'm getting is no eclipse of any kind, at least not from Rald. Here's my exact file: Scatterer_planetsList { mainSunCelestialBodyName = Ciro scattererCelestialBodies { Item { celestialBodyName = Gael transformName = Gael loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = True eclipseCasters { Item = Ceti Item = Iota Item = Rald } planetshineSources { Item { bodyName = Iota color = 1,1,1 intensity = 0.0799999982 isSun = False } Item { bodyName = Ceti color = 1,1,1 intensity = 0.0499999982 isSun = False } } } Item { celestialBodyName = Rald transformName = Rald loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = True eclipseCasters { Item = Ceti Item = Iota Item = Gael } planetshineSources { Item { bodyName = Iota color = 1,1,1 intensity = 0.0799999982 isSun = False } Item { bodyName = Ceti color = 1,1,1 intensity = 0.0499999982 isSun = False } } } Item { celestialBodyName = Gratian transformName = Gratian loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Geminus } } Item { celestialBodyName = Augustus transformName = Augustus loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Otho Item = Hephaestus Item = Jannah } } Item { celestialBodyName = Hadrian transformName = Hadrian loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = True eclipseCasters { Item = Nero Item = Minona Item = Muse Item = Narisse } } Item { celestialBodyName = Tarsiss transformName = Tarsiss loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = True eclipseCasters { Item = Gauss Item = Loki Item = Catallus } } Item { celestialBodyName = Hox transformName = Hox loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Argo } } Item { celestialBodyName = Niven transformName = Niven loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = False } Item { celestialBodyName = Tellumo transformName = Tellumo loadDistance = 100000000 unloadDistance = 200000000 hasOcean = True } Item { celestialBodyName = Gauss transformName = Gauss loadDistance = 500000000 unloadDistance = 1E+09 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Catullus Item = Loki Item = Tarsiss } } Item { celestialBodyName = Nero transformName = Nero loadDistance = 500000000 unloadDistance = 1E+09 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Hadrian Item = Minona Item = Muse Item = Narisse } } Item { celestialBodyName = Otho transformName = Otho loadDistance = 500000000 unloadDistance = 1E+09 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Augustus Item = Hephaestus Item = Jannah } } Item { celestialBodyName = Catullus transformName = Catullus loadDistance = 300000000 unloadDistance = 500000000 hasOcean = False eclipseCasters { Item = Gauss Item = Loki Item = Tarsiss } } } celestialLightSourcesData { Item { bodyName = Iota color = 1,1,1 intensity = 1 isSun = False localRange = 1 scaledRange = 1 fadeRadius = 1 } } sunflares { Item = Ciro } } Also, is this like a MM file? Can I prune it down to just the relevant bits for Rald?
  20. . . . and I'm seeing right off the bad, I'll need to make some more tweaks for Rald to work right with Researth Bodies, first.
