  1. With mod parts (I don't think there's any considered very unbalanced) I have a 1.57 ton one man rocket that I've got to a circular 92Km orbit (currently no transport vehicle), and a 1.1 ton one man helicopter on the back of a 4 ton extreme off-road flat bed that'll nudge 100m/s on a slight down hill. Without mod parts probably 20 tonnes moving very slowly. Are any mod-patrs OK? and, does a helicopter count as an aircraft? It's still a long way to drive twice but I was going to do it for the other thread that was deleted. I may start the trek there if it's OK to use any parts.
  2. It is a problem with the DEMV mk3, or rather the plugin it uses. There's a new version of sfrPartModules1.dll that's used by the DEMV seat to show the Kerbs in external view that's been fixed. It's included in the new SFR pod, I'd try that new .dll.
  3. Even when you perfectly balance the thrust and mass in the SPH unless the craft is symmetrical as soon as you start to move in an atmosphere the drag effects of different parts have an unbalancing effect. RCS + SAS modules or MechJeb's "Kill Rotation" can make things easier.
  4. If I didn't need five posts again I wouldn't of bother putting a "yes" in here.
  5. Trolley wheels and suspesatrons probably closer to flying than driving.
  6. I haven't done that much with boats but it seems like it's only when a part enters or leaves the surface that it's torn off. If it's touching the water and stays touching it or it's above and stays above you're fine. Hydrofoils seem to be the safest at speed (submerged floats with a long strut that keep the upper parts out of the water). Just don't have any individual parts that leave or enter the surface when you're moving fast.
