  1. you're not that far off, at ~40000km you'll meet Duna's sphere of influence. play around with the maneuver nodes: from the screenshot you seem to be a little "late", I think a correction burn in a combined prograde plus radial inward direction should help. do it right away, and then correct the orbit inclination at the AN node.
  2. hey, make sure you get the right attribution there
  3. well Eve's atmosphere is lower than Jool's, but I'm failing to understand what "using your velocity from your solar orbit" means. anyone cares to explain this better?
  4. good luck achieving a TWR of more than 1 with ion thrusters only. edit: I've tried it and it's possible, but it's really painful to takeoff without the help of rover wheels.
  5. ah yes, I remember this challenge was posted before the forum went down. that's how I kept myself busy for the time being but allowing RCS makes it almost too easy: I used solids to launch directly from the ground to Mun intercept, and RCS for orbit injection and landing.
  6. Yup, I got wiped out by the "Great April Purge" as someone has humorously called it a few threads below Oh well, this is a chance to start out fresh I guess. I'm here hoping to get another "Happy launching!" blessing from Capt'n Skunky of course and to repost this token of my appreciation for Squad: Keep up the good work guys!
  7. gotta reach 5 posts again yes my account was deleted, too bad I signed up in December 2012 while I began playing KSP in October.
  8. the Voyager Probe: currently on its way to the Jool system, that will reach in about three years of Kerbal time. it will exploit the gas giant gravity well to perform a slingshot maneuver, coupled with ~3000 m/s of acceleration provided by the LV-N engine, shooting away from the Sun and into deep space.
