About me
Bottle Rocketeer

When I succesfully landed on Duna with Jeb and brought him home safely with tons of fuel to spare

I had some good old fun

Sounds to me like Bill tripped and fell into the ground at four times acceleration. That would hurt alot even at Minmus gravity!

Does the Community Want Better Aerodynamics?
Roman_legion replied to spudcosmic's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Sure better aerodynamics. But forcing players into proper reentry angles doesnt feel kerbal. -
Finish up IVA on some of the command modules.

Most important lesson you've learned in KSP?
Roman_legion replied to Tassyr's topic in KSP1 Discussion
While that is true, it is rarely the case for most things you want to dock that they have their CoM in the EXACT middle of your craft. Also, when docking, orientiate yourself using the nav-ball, having kerbin either to your left or to your right. That is the direction in which the 'ground' part of the navball will be oriented. -

Always always ALWAYS put the RCS blocks DIRECTLY ontop of the center of mass. Four blocks at the front and four at the back WILL NOT HELP YOU DOCK. -
To me it seems theres is no difference in the science output once you go into orbit around Kerbin vs just pointing your rocket straight up and going into space, either in sub-orbital jumps or highly elliptic trajectories that has you nosefive hard back on the surface. Perhaps tweak is so actually being in orbit gives more/different science than just being in the vacuum of space.

Reusing Science Equipment??
Roman_legion replied to dpraptor's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yes you can reuse the science modules. When you design your craft, slap an antenna or similar onto it, and you can transfer the data back to kerbin. The leaves the science module open for buisness again. Just remember that transferring science takes an enourmous amount of electricity. -
When I figured out that rover wheels can have rotations that look like they are correctly placed, and then being insanely frustrated when the rover will just sit on the pad and not do anything!

I did a massive mission with 6 propes and a Laythe lander to the Jool system, the entire thing has taken atleast 12 hours, and now when I arrive after the massive interplanetary burn, the ladder on my Laythe lander is too short and the Pol prope is out of electricity, facing its solar panels away from the sun. Atleast I have 5 more propes for the rest of the moons!

I did my first docking without rcs

What do you name your space agencies?
Roman_legion replied to GalaxyGryphon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I call my program the Asgard Program. All rockets are named after some figure that appears in Norse Mythology! -
They should totally make that something that could be turned on or off.
