Certainly the rover may seem big in terms of an actual 1:1 scale to an astronaut (no other than Jeb, obviously ) compared to its real counterpart, but in the beginning of the build I didn't care at all of the scale but for the looks. Actually I have not designed any functional lander other than this LSAM on-going project: As you can see in the last pic the LER is a bit bigger than the hab module of the lander, so when designing the actual "lander" part I'll bare in mind the dimensions of the rover just so It can accommodate into the lander properly (although I'm not into that for the moment). Cheers!

Hello all! As of a first entry in this post i'd like to share a few of my projects. I've always looked at the Constellation Program as one of the most ambitious developments of the space career, but sadly it didn't came to good. Today I have for you a few remainings of that idea which I'm excited to share, such as the Orion Space Capsule, the LER (lunar electric rover) and of course the Ares I launcher. Those who remember me may also recall my first iteration of the capsule called "Project Orion" (which dates from over a year). As of now, the new Orion capsule and the Space Exploration Vehicle platform (aka LER) are ready and fully functional. Not as well though, is the Ares I rocket, which still suffers from minor things such as stabilty and other sort of clipping problems related to the Orion which causes the capsule to not start the main engine. So, I won't bore you anymore, here are some (rushed) pics : Ares I Orion MPCV Space Exploration Vehicle P.D: sorry for my english if anything is wrong (I am always worried of not express myself properly), and again, sorry for the rushed images where the "aerodynamic forces overlay" thingy appears. P.D. 2: btw no mods used here, all stock. Just got installed Ven's Stock Revamp to make things prettier.

Fairing engine enclosure help
Dieguscus replied to Dieguscus's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
@SaplingPick that's what I though for a moment but then I remembered I have pretty basic idea of how to edit the cfg so I don't know how to make it work besides modifying the entire rear. - - - Updated - - - UPDATE: I managed to make it work by updating slightly the rear portion of the vehicle. It still has the "Thud" engine but now repurposed with the objective of making the new and functional "Spark" engine more robust and bigger since it has lower isp. -
For a while I've been thinking in a new way of designing my aircraft fuselages so, since the announcement of the new fairings an idea popped up in my mind. Today, and as of motive of the release of KSP 1.0 (yay! ) I finally tried surrounding a main aircraft body with this enclosures so that the craft could get the shape I wanted and also be more aerodinamic (image below showing an early X-37 concept with the technique described). Once I placed all the fuel tanks and the engine inside of them, I proceeded to launch but once I was on the runway and toggle up the engine, the game displayed a message saying: "Cannot activate while stowed!". I tried to reattach the engine into an exterior part that weren't inside the fairing and then reposition it inside again with the idea in mind if that could do the trick, but again it displayed the same message. If anybody knows how to make it work I'd be pretty thankful! P.D. sorry for my english. It's not my mater language

I'm glad you remember the Orion craft. Also about the video, yeah it seems they arranged them in a new position, I didn't notice about that since this craft designed was made a long time ago, just updated yesterday with the new 0.24 parts. - - - Updated - - - It docks like a charm Why don't you give it a try?

DUE TO THE CHANGES MADE IN 0.24.1 THE SHIP ENGINES DOES NOT HAVE THE PROPER SIZE. STAY UP FOR AN UPDATE COMING SOON. Introducing the all-new 2014 Boeing CST-101 exploration vessel. Expanding your space traveling reach for you. MAIN DESCRIPTION Once again, here at Dieguscus Corp. we have managed to develop a vessel capable of the transport of several crew members among the stars. The all-new 2014 Boeing CST-101 is based on it's real counterpart, same as Project Orion. This vessel has capacity for 3 crew members and serves as life-vest in case of emergency of your own space station. The propulsion system has been redesigned to accommodate to the new purposes of the career, with the new RCS engine technology. The O-10 Monopropellant Engines serves as the main control method for the vessels but if you need some extra thrust you can always help yourself with the Vernor Engines located at the bottom of the craft. Last but not least, is also equipped with four blocks of LV-1R Liquid Fuel Engines, each with five of those motors just for extra maneuverability. Also equipped with action groups: Press 1 to activate/deactivate the four main 0-10 Monopropellant Engines. Press 2 to activate/deactivate the Vernor engines. Press 0 to expulsate the Scape Tower once your middle stage has reached its end. ADDITIONAL SPECS Total cost: 117,608 FFunds. Total mass: 150,867Kg. ISP value: 318s. Amount of thrust: 2,800kN. Total amount of DELTA-V: 2,255m/s. Just like Project Orion, once your mission is done and you are on a low Kerbin orbit, the Crew Module will detach from the Engine Block and will carry the crew to land. PRODUCT IMAGES Important Info: Please note that although the Crew Module and the Engine Block are separate pieces they keep linked by some decouplers and sometimes when you try to separate both parts in space may not result until you enter in the atmosphere so keep in mind that it can malfunction for several minutes. But not everything are worries! The kerbals will stay in great shape and you can even think about this way of decoupling as a celebration... (because of the explosions). ENJOY! (Tested with several crew members. 89,7% of mission succeed. All tests were done in closed areas and performed by non-trained stuntmans. Dieguscus.Corp does not responsibilice for future injures or deads.)

[Showcase] Replica Craft thread!
Dieguscus replied to Mr. Pseudonym's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Welcome to a new way of space travelling. Welcome to the new Golden Age of extraplanetary exploration. Welcome to Project Orion, the most accurate space vessel ever done. MAIN DESCRIPTION Our engineers in Dieguscus.Corp have managed to make one of the most precise, well-crafted and engineered ship kerbalkind has ever achieved. Project Orion is based on its real world counterpart, the Orion MPCV, which will carry astronauts to the future planned missions of the NASA space agency. Project Orion is mostly made-up of two major parts: the crew module, which will contain the crew and all the life-support , and the service module, which acts as the propulsion system of the vessel. This propulsion system consits of one LV-T45 engine which serves as the main engine of the ship and a set a four auxiliary LV-1R liquid engines for extra movility. Is also equiped with the latest RCS thruster technology for efficiency and precision control in zero gravity. Also equipped with action groups: Press 1 to toggle both OX-4L 1x6 Photovoltaic Panels, Comms DTS-M1 long-range communication antenna and deactivate torque of the MK1-2 Command Pod. Press 2 to activate/deactivate the main LV-T45 liquid engine. Press 3 to activate/deactivate the LV-R1 engines. ADDITIONAL SPECS Total cost: 65,530Cr. Total mass: 17,345Kg. ISP value: 363s. Amount of thrust: 216kN. Total amount of DELTA-V: 2,202m/s. Congratulations! Now you're good to go! Once your mission is done and you are on a low Kerbin orbit, the Crew Module will detach from the Service Module and will carry safely the crew to land. PRODUCT IMAGES Unfortunatelly we have not developed a reliable launch system that could bring Project Orion beyond Kerbin, but I'm sure each consumer will manage to do one of them (specially with the new SLS parts). Originally Project Orion was built because of the non-accurate Orion MPCV ships. If you share my dream of bringing some vehicle to the kerbals that could transport them safely beyond Kerbin don't doubt, download now and enjoy several missions with it and its crew.
