Thank you for working on a texture switcher. I had started in on painting one of the small tank textures. There would have been eight to do just for that one tank. Luckily I thought of another possible solution, deleting the whole page and filling the page with one color because the templates were probably taking from the area they needed. It was done in a minute and surprisingly it worked. This is a small lander transport and refueling station built with your tanks.
The central tank is MonoPropellant and the four outer ones are LFO. Should the LFO tanks need fuel lines to the MonoPropellant tank for the fuel to get to the engine?
-
Thank you for the Orbital Orb, it is just what I needed for my small lander transport and refuel station.
-
Any lander I build with the ALCOR blows up in orbit when changing the view from one ship to another.
-
Talisar, I miss the old-style white tanks. Could you release a white pack? If you wanted to do just a one-off without mods, it would be great to have the small LFO tank, 4 of those would fit in perfectly on the space ship I'm building. I tried re-texturing the small tank in your current pack, but I don't have the skills.

Thank you for the Orbital Orb, it was just the style and size I needed for a small space ship.

I noticed the problem too. When you try to click on the thumbnail or the printed name below the picture on the front page of Spaceport, the front page just reloads.
I see what you mean. I got to the LLL download by holding the cursor over the picture and then clicking on the title in the window that pops up.
-
It works for me, and it's the same parts as in the download on the first page of this thread.
It's great to see it finally up on SpacePort, but odd on first seeing it sitting there in the middle of everything else like nothing special, instead of one of the best things in Kerbal.
(Using trusses to the docking ports for attaching first and second stage rockets, along with quantum struts, is my solution for lifting a long spaceship, and leaving it clean after separation.)
-
Thank you Mihara, I'll go put that together now.

Small is beautiful!
Yes indeed. This would be nice to have, but I'm not sure what to do in order to get it. Can someone tell me how to make this part from the code posted by Mihara?

These look like they will be great, will use on lots of ships.

.............EDIT: please do not remove anything from EE. I find the variety refreshing and love having it. I really like all the engine types which mean there is an engine for every job. I think I have a probe for every engine you offer in that pack. an art change and new parts would be fantastic but I'd really be dissapointed if stuff was removed.
Totally agree with you on this Captain Sierra, I wouldn't want to have to build probes and landers and even small orbiting stations without having these parts. hoojiwana has made things a lot easier for 'smaller is better' rocketeers like me.

Lack thank you for the new parts. For a while I've been trying to mod parts like turning fuel tanks into crew quarters and using other hatches, without a lot of success. Your great crew hatch that works with the Vanguard mod and the crew quarters that have the same look as the fuel tanks now makes it possible to make the kind of retro lander I've wanted. I'm working now on a matching orbiting station using your LLL parts to carry the lander out to the planets.

Will wait patiently for the kawaii as à ² _à ² uck engine.

Thank you for welding the two T8-9x parts. I made a quick 2 stage rocket to test it, nine tanks, no asparagus, a few struts, and was out among the planets in no time, and that was going straight up! Didn't have any wobble. The T8-9x will change how I build my lifters.
-
Pruning the T8-17x to the inner attachment points would probably be best since if I visualize it correctly using Sr beams would leave more room for wider tanks when needed.
-
Great idea Kadron. Could you weld up a T8-9x sometime? A part like that would be VERY useful for the size rockets I usually make.

Cool,beautyfull,compact,usefull,amazing...i like it so much, and i missed WEKA mini shuttle, please keep it up!!!
+1 I look forward to flying the Pook shuttle. I had some great flights with the WEKA and some real white-knuckle landings after intense re-entries. Used it as long as possible, until maybe half a year ago. Good luck on this project!

Nuke, I've tried re-texturing the png files for the 2 liquid fuel tanks into something that will fit in with the stock look, like an off-white, but can't figure out how to do it with Microsoft Paint. Could you or someone else do it for me or give me some suggestions how to do it? Thanks.

I've added the intermediate welding tutorial.
What's most notable is that is shows you how to stretch pieces in only one dimension, so if you need to stretch/contract a truss piece along it's length to make it fit, you can do that without changing the other dimensions.
This is also a potential solution to improving modularity and reducing memory footprint. Instead of having a dedicated strut, double strut, 1/3 strut, 1/6 strut, you could take the 1/3 strut, weld 3 of them together to replace the strut, weld 6 to replace the double strut. KSP would only load one model for those 3 parts (instead of 3 models) and unlike the existing parts which aren't multiples of each other (strut is 1.5, double is 2.982, short is .516, unscaled), you could shrink the 1/3 strut length to 94% and after scaling would be exactly 1.25m - a standard size. The standard strut would then be 3.75m, the double 7.5m, etc. That way if you need to build your station up with components, you can do it and always wind up with the same dimensions. I'm planning on doing the same thing with the Octo fuel tanks, eliminating the triple tanks for 3 singles welded together, etc.
Something for Semni to consider. I'll probably work up the .cfg files myself, which I'm happy to share.
Maybe you could work something out with Semni so you could post a download of your welded/modified parts?

Looking good, can't wait, just what I need for my lightweight explorers.
-
Always good to see updates to your engines, one of my favorite mods. The semi-gloss finish does add depth, very nice.

regular chip just gives the data in the VAB/SPH. No display shown when in flight.
flight chip gives you the flight data when you launch
Oh. Now it seems pretty obvious, the "Flight" in "EngineerChipFlight" is a big clue isn't it.
-
Question: what is the difference in the regular chip and the flight version? If this is explained somewhere and I missed it please point me in the right direction.
R3ality thank you for the rescale information, there have been times when I wished the chip was smaller.
-
.....I should be able to knock some general 1x1 parts to handle that sort of thing reasonably quickly, especially now you can scale parts within the .cfg.
Good to hear, there have been a few times I've also wished there was a 1x1 RCS part.

I'll take another lander up and check the logs when it blows up and let you know.
