Nope not dead... I am working on all my final projects in school, progress should be ramping back up in the coming weeks. Though I am still looking for someone who has some experience in unity and building config files. So if anyone is interested who has experience please PM me. Thanks! -

Apparently they have scrapped the 4 engine core and are going with a 5 engine core stage, so Ill be going back to my original 5 engine core, but Ill be including the 4 engine core. -

Actually havent had much time to work on it, final projects have begun so I've been working on school work. I'm still working on the models but its geared more towards my needs for school. I'm currently UVing and preparing the texture the RL-10 and the Cryo-Stage, I also have to remodel the ORION pod because Im not satisfied with it. So I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to start converting the assets over for KSP, it may not be fore several more weeks when the term is over. But I am looking for someone who wouldn't mind taking over the Unity aspect and config file aspect of the project since I'm not sure when ill be able to dedicate enough time to really learn unity and making the config files working properly. I feel if I continued to make the config files and work in unity the mod wouldn't be up to par with what would satisfy me. So if anyone who has solid knowledge of config file construction and unity who would is interested in partnering up with me please inbox me. -

Well I believe it is going to be shipping out with the orange foam insulation. But I prefer the artist renditions it does look a hell of a lot sexier than the Ares platform. But if people really want the orange foam core stage that wouldnt take too much time to do. -

I based the distance of the SRBs on the reference, I've been trying to cancel out the wobble without using struts I have a few more things I want to try before I make any changes. Right now, the values are just place holders so Im not quite sure. Pointed the same way I have them. Yeah I may just have to have it as a visual thing. But Im still going to toy around with it. -

Haha I might be able to do that. Yeah its just a placement texture till I get around to actually texturing them. -

just about every reference I found has them pointing the way I have them, I think I had a similar discussion earlier. I assume they are meant to be discharged while the SRBs are still going, so it works in that instance. I want to keep them that way, I just have to find a balance between the nosecone boosters and the skirt boosters. But you can easily flip the skirt ones if need be. -

Here's a video of what I have so far, still have some balancing to do when it comes to fuel and what not. And for some reason the game slows down when the SRB's are about empty but I just jettison them anyway they hit the ship if I jettison them when they are empty, so thats something I need to fix too. But you get the idea. -

A little angry right now, so I was going to post an issue I was having with a shroud decoupler where it would lag while it was decoupling if I staged and then fired my engine separate, it was pretty severe, I tried all sorts of solutions and couldnt get it to work right. It would stage ok if the engine and shroud were together but there was still a tad of lag. Well I wake up this morning and everything is perfect. I have no idea what was going on. still a few issues I have to work out but its kind of coming along =P -

Well I just figured id make it separate and it seems to be working that way. Im trying to make a decoupler right now for the SRB and it doesnt seem to be importing into KSP at the right scale, right now its a too big, but its at the exact same scale as everything else in unity I dont know why its showing up in KSP as being bigger. Im going to try one more thing and Im just going to move on. Ive spent too much time wasting time on this decoupler. -

I dont think anyone would have an issue rendering 100K tris you dont need a high end system to render that many on screen. And I know polys are converted over to tris for game engines. Im failing to see your point? -

I made that same argument earlier about the collision meshes, lol. Oh well it seems no one can agree on what hinders performance an all I can say the game is still in alpha and nothing is very optimized but is getting better. I'm working from my higher poly meshes anyway (which really aren't very high poly). So I could eventually put those in game with very little effort on my part. Thanks for your input! And I'll be making sure the collision meshes are well optimized! -

yeah I think you are right... i just checked bobcats and it isnt on the same stage. So ill probably seperate them which is not a big problem. Thanks for pointing that out! haha ill add it if you like it lol. -

I thought tht could be remedied through the config. Bobcats core stage on his American pack has separation boosters that fire separately I believe from the main engine. Ill have to check to be sure. -

I have the nosecone as a separate part right now, but I wanted to keep the bottom boosters attached and have them stage separately from the main. Thanks for the complement -

Sure am!! LOL thanks! Ok here you go guys, I have the SRB, Advanced Rocket Booster, and the J-2X Stage UV'd and ready to bring into the game, these are the high poly versions I knocked a lot of polys off of them from the original models so hopefully everything will run well in game. I should have them in tomorrow with just temporary placement textures so expect a release this weekend . -

I have the 2600 poly version in game right now, but the 200 poly version is all I need to project all the details onto from the high poly version. And what you mean not much more than 500, even KSP uses more in their stock parts. The LV-T30 uses atleast 1000 And I'm almost 100% sure people use more than one of those on their rockets. But as I said Ill be making low poly versions so people could enjoy them, but saying more than 500 is reserved for high end rigs is ridiculous since the game uses parts that are more than 500 polys. -

ok here is the reworked SRB and the Advanced SRB. Ill probably get these two and the 3rd stage J-2X in game by the end of the weekend, I just have to low-polyfy them. The textures shouldnt be too hard, but I may just put some place holder textures or something so I can get something out so we can play around with them, and work on balancing while I work on the textures for them. -

Oh that makes sense, about the comoffset, thanks for explaining it to me Yeah it took me a while to figure out the thrust transform thing but I got it down though Now I just have to figure out how to do the gimbal and emissive texture stuff and ill be good well atleast on the engines. The mars transfer vehicle looks like it would be a lot of work but it would be a lot of fun in game.
