  1. Sure - I'm still working on the diffuse and normal maps because I keep adding more windows to the Mars Colonial Transporter but I'll post a screenshot of what should be the "final" version. The new cargo capsule looks almost exactly like the current version, except without windows, reconfigured RCS ports and with a working top hatch. The 4 round plates located around the perimeter of the center of the capsule are gone as well, since it doesn't use any engines other than its RCS. I'm finishing the wrap-around parachutes for it right now and will post up a shot of that, too.
  2. Do you mean that the actual models aren't working when you add the heat shield variables to the .cfg files? I'm using cylinder primitives for those with this update.
  3. I've fixed the blank console issue on the low-res pack along with something from the 23.5 to 24.2 change that made the interior instruments float above the console: Download from LazTek: LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack 3.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack HD 3.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack LR 3.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion 2.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion HD 2.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion LR 2.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive 1.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive HD 1.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive LR 1.1 [KSP .24.2]
  4. Thanks for the heads up on the monitor texture. I'm using a combination of a cone and a sphere primitive for the colliders for the Dragon V2, per the suggestions made earlier in this thread. What else do I need to do to make the V2 capsule work with DRE?
  5. I have a different Dragon V1 Cargo capsule that I will add to the Launch Pack right after I confirm that my new colliders for the V2 capsule are workign correctly with Deadly Reentry.
  6. I've finished the updates to get everything up to speed with KSP .24.2 and have posted them here: Download from LazTek: LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack 3.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack HD 3.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack LR 3.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion 2.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion HD 2.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion LR 2.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive 1.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive HD 1.1 [KSP .24.2] LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive LR 1.1 [KSP .24.2] I've tested these with Farram Aerospace and Deadly Reentry, as well as Dark Server multiplayer, MechJeb and the largest install of the Environmental Enhancement mods with no problems at 64 bit and 32 bit on Windows 7. Please inform me of any issues you may have and I'll do my best to straighten them out.
  7. I've created all the parts for the mods the only way I know how, which is with Maya and Unity using separate visual and physical models for each part and am not aware of any other way to make parts for KSP. Are there any resources online regarding building for Deadly Reentry that I can study?
  8. I'll check to see why things aren't attaching to the inside of the V2 trunk and I forgot to mention the Dragon Cargo is also included in the updated Historical Archive. I've made it hollow with interior sides that allow attachment of equipment in the case of KSP adding some sort of cargo scenarios to the career mode. The top hatch/cap attaches separately and opens and closes on the Dragon Cargo to allow access into items within.
  9. I've finished the updates to the SpaceX mods for KSP.24. After this, I am updating the Historical Archive with the Falcon 1, Falcon 9 Block 1 and Merlin 1C engines and adding the new SpaceX Planetary Colonization mod with Falcon X, Falcon XX and Mars Colonial Transporter spacecraft. In addition to the following changes, are there any other issues I need to address for this update? >>>>CHANGES IN LAZTEK SPACEX LAUNCH PACK v3.1: - Updated all models to Unity 4.5 except those with emissives, which are staying at 4.2.2 due to incompatibilities - Changed all prices for research and part purchase to reflect prices established by .24 career mode - Moved Falcon Heat Shield to SpaceX Historical Archives mod as it is no longer necessary by using aero retrobraking - Dragon V2 Parachute - Changed attachment point to accommodate changes in Unity physics - Dragon V2 Trunk - Reduced size of cargo to allow space to attach docking port at top - Changed engine control keys for Merlin 1D clusters to a configuration that allows more control >>>>CHANGES TO SPACEX EXPLORATION EXPANSION KIT 2.1: - Updated models and prices for KSP .24 career mode - Replaced MonoPropellant Tank with 200 and 400 MonoPropellant tanks with more accurate tank sizes - New Explorer Heat Shield V2 with same design as new Dragon V2 - Moved Nerva II and Advanced VTOL engines from Experimental Engine set along with several spaceplane .craft files - Added Aft Dock to Dragon V2 Explorer craft to allow rear docking with V2 trunk attached to orbiter - Moved Docking Trunk to SpaceX Historical Archive mod >>>>>>> CHANGES TO SPACEX HISTORIC ARCHIVE 1.1: - Moved Falcon Heat Shield from SpaceX Launch Pack - Moved Explorer Heat Shield and Dragon Docking Trunk from SpaceX Explorer Expansion - Changed launch keys for .craft files

  11. Thanks, everyone for all the help in getting the bugs worked out of the latest releases. I've been incorporating fixes as I find them and plan to have the next release of the three mod packs, including more older SpaceX parts for the Historical Archive and the low res versions, right after KSP .24 gets released. In the meantime, I have an experimental engine pack that I will post up here shortly. Here's a preview of my Advanced VTOL SuperDracos at work:
  12. I rebuilt the Dragon V2 model, tweaked some graphics and added the missing umbilical connection between the trunk and capsule. Everything is available here: LazTek SpaceX Launch 3.0, Exploration 2.0 and Historic 1.0 packs [.23.5] (6/15/14) LazTek Temporal Anomalies is pleased to announce the availability of our SpaceX Launch Pack 3.0, SpaceX Exploration Expansion kit 2.0 and SpaceX Historical Archive 1.0 for Kerbal Space Program v.23.5. Available for download in medium and high resolution versions, these mods include replicas of the new SpaceX Dragon V2 capsule and trunk, SpaceX Falcon 9 v1.1 and Falcon Heavy launch platforms, plus special configurations for exploration, asteroid redirection, refueling, colonizing and more! Add the SpaceX Historical Archive for access to the original DragonRider concept spacecraft. 13. I already created the tri-parachute system demonstrated with the DragonRider concept test capsule in the video, but just saved it for the Dragon Science/Cargo capsule I'm including in future editions of the SpaceX Historic Archive mods. While perfectly suited for the Dragon cargo capsule which has no engine nacelles, the imbedded channels for the two diagonally-situated side parachute lines go right through two of the SuperDraco engines, so I assumed that the final version would simply combine all three chutes into one channel up the back.
  14. Thank you for your comments - I wish I could have been as close to the capsule as you have been. I actually first built a retractable ladder but decided, with the chrome accents on the hatch, to complement them with chrome-ish rungs instead. I might still put the retractable in as an option, though. Elon specifically said that this capsule would still use the exact same parachutes as the cargo Dragon, which I take to mean they work the same way on the actual, launchable capsule that we'll see later this year or next. These parachutes use a drogue that rips a line up the back of the Dragon from a narrow, shallow channel that is covered with polystyrene foam and then spools out from the top. I hope I'm right, but as always will modify in the future as these parts become reality. Interestingly, I almost assumed that the top ports were for something else and only added rcs to those just before I released the first version of the Dragon V2. I'd also like to know how the winglets on the trunk are really going to work. I would assume they are control surfaces, but the Dragon V2 separates from the trunk long before the atmosphere plays any part in reentry. I think the animation that accompanied Elon's presentation influenced the little gap I left between the capsule and the trunk, since the gap is also in the video, but I believe I will get rid of that in future releases.
  15. I'm almost ready with the regular and low-res versions of the new mods but would like to make certain I've squashed any bugs with the HD version first. Has anyone run into any other issues beyond the ones already discussed here?
  16. Zoom in underneath to place the docking port while the camera is in the capsule looking up, or use the LT SpaceX Dragon V2 .craft file and it's pre-made for you. I haven't been able to reproduce the sound or decoupling issues. Are other people having this same problem? Perhaps I need to combine another plugin with my mod to reproduce it?
  17. I have completed my new SpaceX Launch Pack HD v3.0, SpaceX Exploration Expansion HD v2.0 and SpaceX Historic Archive HD v1.0 mods and they are available now on my server and will be available on Curse after the regular and low res versions have been tested and uploaded later today or tomorrow. LazTek SpaceX Launch Pack HD v3.0 LazTek SpaceX Exploration Expansion HD v2.0 LazTek SpaceX Historic Archive HD v1.0 This first build of the SpaceX Historic Archive contains my original Dragon 2 spacecraft, now renamed DragonRider in the VAB but using the original names in the .cfg files. This should ensure continuity of existing builds and scenarios and is the primary reason for the creation of this version of the mod. Use of its .craft files requires installation of the Launch Pack and Exploration Expansion mods. Upcoming releases will also include versions of the original Falcon 9 Block 1 launch platform and Dragon Science and Cargo capsule. >>>>CHANGES IN LAZTEK SPACEX LAUNCH PACK v3.0: Replaced Dragon 2/DragonRider spacecraft with new Dragon V2 capsule, trunk, ladder, nosecone and parachutes with versions unveiled to the public by SpaceX Parachute designed to fit new Dragon V2 Ladder simplified into new Dragon Ladder with rungs attached to front of Dragon V2 capsule New Dragon V2 nosecone opens and closes without ejecting Dragon V2 trunk no longer uses attachable solar panels with covers and has been redesigned to resemble Dragon V2 trunk seen in the animation that was unveiled with the introduction of the new Dragon V2. Falcon Remote Control now has top decoupler to eject Dragon V2+trunk directly, eliminating need for adapter SuperDraco Engines are now smaller and are designed to exactly fit the Dragon V2 nacelles when attached in pairs that are rotated +60 and -60 degrees from center. it is no longer necessary to rotate the capsule when attaching the SuperDraco engines >>>>CHANGES TO SPACEX EXPLORATION EXPANSION KIT 2.0: Added Falcon Tanker upper tank part and LT SpaceX Falcon Tanker .build file that uses it Changed all ship builds to use new Dragon V2 capsule and trunk Docking Trunk no longer needs separate decoupler/adapter
  18. Update: The new Dragon V2 and its attachable engines and parachute system are completed and I'm making the texture reduced versions right now for upload on Curse and my server later tonight. I have redone the SpaceX Launch packs to replace the Dragon 2 with the new Dragon V2. For those who are using my original Dragon 2 for their current builds/scenarios or simply want to use it in addition to the Dragon V2, I will also make available the first version of my SpaceX Historical pack.
  19. I've tested every image format used by the export function with the parttools script add-on for Unity and while other formats may save space in the mod files, they don't reduce the graphic memory required when actually loading up in the game. Are my results different from others?
  20. Glad to hear the positive responses. The issue with the engine animations is directly related to my attempt to combine the engines with the capsule, so I'm making an all-new update to the capsule that uses attachable engines that fit in the nacelles and can be fitted onto other parts to use as a radially-mounted engine that uses monopropellant. In the meantime, here are the latest updates which include the new trunk: LazTek SpaceX Dragon V2 Update 1.1 LazTek SpaceX Dragon V2 Update HD 1.1
  21. I've completed the next round of additions/fixes, which includes: - Trunk/decoupler with built-in solar panels - SuperDraco engine glow - Correct sizing of capsule in relation to 2.5-meter parts - New interior with black/tan carbon fiber seats and new control panels Before I release this update, I want to fix an issue that seems to consistently cause the engine animations to stop working after any mission reversion. Are others experiencing this?
  22. Ok - my first update to the Dragon V2 includes better landing gear that use the actual landing gear module and the glow from the SuperDraco engines. Are there any other updates I need to do before putting this out and getting to the trunk and parachutes?
