  1. I also think weather and better looking atmospheres would be a good addition to the game. I downloaded the EVE and Better Atmosphere mods which make them look cool, but there isn't really weather as such. A massive dust storm looming over the horizon on Duna would look amazing. Or a launching from Kerbin during a lightning storm. Also, volcanoes and geysers on planets and moons would look good as well.
  2. And I thought Goat Simulator was a strange idea for a game... Not that it was a bad game, I think its quite funny! But I think its gone too far this time, I mean, who wants to spend money on something so boring and useless.
  3. Yeah, I guess we could be that! Well England are out, although, one of our main aims of the last 6 years has now been achieved. We are now as good as Spain!
  4. Well it looks like England are heading home, unless Italy win their next two games and England beat Costa Rica next Tuesday. Oh, and then we have to get, or Uruguay or Costa Rica have to lose 4 on goal difference to go through. In shorter terms, its quite unlikely!
  5. I'd say go to the Moon first. Although its not that similar to Mars, and the distance between the Earth and the Moon is nowhere near to distance between Earth and Mars, I think it would be a good stepping stone. Just to try and set up a base relatively close to Earth first incase anything goes wrong as kind of a test. Then, once everything has been tested on the Moon and we have a suitable design, go to Mars. Perhaps we could also build a prototype of a ship suitable to go to Mars in orbit around the Moon, keep the astronauts in Lunar orbit for the amount of time it would take to reach Mars, land them on the Moon and then do the same thing again to simulate the return journey. Although that would be quite an expensive option with little point other than to test the ship. Perhaps the ship could be reusable so we wouldn't have to build another ship for the actual trip to Mars, reducing the cost.
  6. You could use the Kerbal attachment system (KAS) mod to make your own teather. I'm not sure if there is a working mod for 1st person EVA, but it would definitely be a cool edition to the game.
  7. Recently I've been thinking that perhaps we are some kind of experiment. Maybe not the entire universe but just our planet. Maybe some other alien species put life here as an evolution experiment and are observing us and just watching where we end up. To see if we destroy ourselves, or live long enough to become as technologically advanced as themselves.
  8. I like the idea, but portraits should only be shown if the Kerbals are from the current mission and in the 2.5km range. - - - Updated - - - Perhaps this problem could be solved with the idea above I posted.
  9. I guess there could be, thinking of all the stars out there with potential planetary systems. Its quite likely for there to be something similar, although I'm not sure there will be little green creatures with their own space program!
  10. Trust me, there will not be a new version for a while yet. They have not announced in going into experimentals or anything yet, and they usually do this. .24 might come out in April. Also, I don't know why you are asking the moderators to keep it open. If they shut it once, then it was breaking some rule or another. So they will likely just shut it again.
  11. I de-orbit stations, but not satellites. But only if I'm bored of them and/or they get unstable. I just think they are too big to be sat up there abandoned. Anyway, its always fun to see the fireworks of a massive thing on re-entry.
  12. Gaming, swimming, railways. Pretty expensive life style but I enjoy it so I don't really mind.
  13. It is big enough to pull its self into a spheroid. Even though they were quite blurry, the pictures from Hubble show that it is spherical.
  14. Hope you are okay, take as a long as a break as you need.
  15. I'm not sure if I've just got the wrong idea of what you said, but I from what I've have just read, I think you think there will be lots of asteroids going everywhere. I think there is only going to be a few, not an entire belt of them.
  16. Please donate just £2 a month to stop helpless giants being thrown on top of rockets and being launched into space.
  17. The site seems a little buggy, sometimes the ribbons which are shown for each planet/moon while making the ribbons don't show. Although, when I clicked submit, all the ribbons were shown and in the correct place so it doesn't matter too much. It does seem however, the ribbons are not showing in peoples signatures.
  18. It would be cool for with planet with mountains sticking outside of the atmosphere to have clouds or something, they could look amazing from the top of the plateaus.
  19. You see, I wish I could do that, but Jeb threatens to set the SRB factory on fire if I don't let him be the first Kerbal to test a new rocket. He is just so addicted to explosions...
  20. rockbloodystar, it is down for me too. The ribbons also aren't showing in our signatures. I'm hoping the website will be back up soon, I need a flag for my Mun base!
  21. I've had a similar problem to that. I was doing a mission to Duna and had two probes to deploy on the mothership, but only one would decouple and the other wouldn't. I used the same mothership on a recent Dres mission and the probes decoupled fine. I think the problem you are having could be solved by launching the flight again.
  22. Isn't that really just getting their technology any then telling them to go away, that they are unwanted in a way. Perhaps if we helped them colonize somewhere like Mars, we could live their with them too. Not that colonizing and making Mars habitable is an easy task though. Perhaps the Aliens will be more willing to share if we offer them something in return?
  23. No. As a few people have pointed out, the first launch should never be manned- unless its a Kerbal rocket... Anyway, back on topic. Anything could go wrong, delaying, or possibly even leading to the cancellation of the program, which no one wants. Although, I guess something could go wrong on any launch. But something is more likely to go wrong on the first one, so the first should definitely be unmanned.
  24. I'd say give them a home and help them out in some way in exchange for their technology. Then perhaps we could colonize other planets and moons and perhaps terraform them, creating more room for Humans and Aliens to live together. However, in reality we will probably kill them and steal their technology or put them into slum conditions and a plot similar to what happens in District 9 will occur. We set up unhygienic refugee camps for humans, a similar thing will probably happen to the Aliens.
  25. I got one named Barsted, which sounds like another word but spelt differently. In my main save, I have one female Kerbal who is called Fernie Kerman.
