Currently parachutes are just an animation that stops when your velocity reaches 0. If you land or either cut the chute while landing it simply disappears instead of falling on your pod/tearing away, respectively. I would like to know if one day we may have proper chutes that actually remain in the world after being deployed. Thanks for Reading, Happy Flying!

Better IVA outside view
RazorWolf19 replied to Tygroux's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
IVA, I find, is impractical for actual use in most cases because the UI gets in the way. Imagine you are actually flying an airplane, in your FOV the window goes below the middle point, so you can get a decent range of sight. In KSP, however, all of the windows end in the middle of our FOV so all anyone can really see is the sky; there's no ground view (which is extremely important when landing a plane). TL;DR: All IVA UI (control panels, navball, etc) should be lowered so that it ends 3 1/4 down to the bottom of the screen. Thanks for Reading, Happy Flying! -
I've thought about this too, though I haven't run in to any major problems like you have. Anyway, I don't understand why it was necessary to implement a "turn, then "plant flag" animation" when you could just blend the "idle" (standing) animation with the "plant flag" one. I say this because I know they already use this technique with walking on low-gravity bodies (Gilly, Bop, Pol Etc). If you look at the changelist for 0.17 to EVA, you will see that they "Implemented dynamic walk cycle blending for EVA Kerbals under G levels between 0.17 and 1G" which basically makes their walking loop look smoother and more continuous. (At least to MY knowledge) Thanks for Reading, Happy Flying!

Yes, that was the point; OP said it's a ghost satellite dish and the only building that ever had one is the tracking station. (I thought that was implied...)
-
It's been mentioned multiple times before; Bill Jeb and Bob are known for their uniquely orange-coloured spacesuits, but they do not have the models while on EVA. I mean, I know it's not a priority because it's simply aesthetic but it doesn't seem like something that would be particularly difficult or time consuming to implement. The reason I say this is because its only a colour change and not a model change, also they have it while in IVA and in their portraits while in flight. So, is there any ETA or even any official word at all of whether/when this will be implemented? Thanks for reading, Happy Flying! NOTE: I say it seems "easy to implement" this feature but I have absolutely ZERO knowledge of coding and generally suck with computers so I apologize for ignorance.

Wow, just 0.8.3 now? DAYUM! Nice work, community! -
Just a Question about the current KSP Staff
RazorWolf19 replied to 100cottage's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well, considering some of the work you've done, I don't see why they WOULDN'T want you on the team... (sorry for ass-kissing by I do honestly mean it ) -
Just a Question about the current KSP Staff
RazorWolf19 replied to 100cottage's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've been thinking about this as well, I will be following this thread in hopes of getting official word; thank you for posting. -
what version of the game did you download first?
RazorWolf19 replied to duncan1297's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Same. I found the game through KurtJMac when he started playing it in 0.13.2. I liked it, but not quite enough to buy it; especially since I myself am too young to have a credit card and my parents never bothered getting one. In 0.17, however, my desire to play grew and I downloaded the demo. After playing for a couple weeks I worked up the courage to ask my dad if I could get this game as an early Christmas present (this was during KerbalKon, Nov 30 2012). To my surprise, he said he'd been deciding whether or not he should get one for a while now and since this game was < $20 he was okay with it. Sadly, the credit card took a whole month to arrive (especially because of the busy holiday season) and on December 31st I finally got to play it in 0.18.2. Thanks for reading! Happy Flying! -
I'd hate to speculate, but I feel like it's happening tomorrow (Monday).... However, I've been telling myself that every single day since last Monday...

Will the second space centre still be there?
RazorWolf19 replied to Kerbface's topic in KSP1 Discussion
No, KSC2 is not there due to popular demand; it is an Easter Egg. It was added in version 0.15 when they re-did Kerbin to look like it did up to 0.17. (It was reachable by the then-new space planes and their extremely efficient engines). Hope this helps, Happy Flying! -
I don't think any were added in 0.20, which makes this thread redundant.

New Mun in 0.21 , See pictures! [pic heavy]
RazorWolf19 replied to Luxmaster-CZ's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I like the craters, but they seem a little... excessive... especially in the map view. This might be because you can see them clearly from orbit whereas on the real Moon they are less defined. I don't know, anyway, great work Harv! -
DAMMIT! Ninja'd... Nice one

OhmygodwhatisthisthreadIdonteven...

I would like to know the answer to this as well, as video settings and the terms behind them are not something I'm very adept at. Also, in this thread you did ask a question, so instead of stealing your question I'll try to answer it as well(to the best of my abilities). I believe that turning your rendering down increases FPS, but makes you more likely to clip through the floor/Easter Eggs. Hope this helps! Thanks for reading and Happy Flying!

How long did it take you to dock ...
RazorWolf19 replied to StainlessSteelRat's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Docking took me a while to fully understand; it's probably one of the hardest single game mechanics. Getting a rendezvous was extremely difficult because I didn't know what to do with all the fancy-shmancy indicators and displays. I watched Scott Manley's video and, honestly, it didn't help at all... mostly because I was new to the game and I didn't understand the lingo. THIS video really helped me because it was more of a "Docking For Dummies" style in the sense that he walked you through what everything was step by step: http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1b99FQpxd4. Docking itself, however, was extremely easy BUT ONLY if your RCS thrusters are placed in a balanced manner. This is what gave me the most trouble: I had finally gotten a rendezvous, but I had absolutely no translation control over my ship. Looking back, I can even see myself getting more and more frustrated at the RCS simply by the names of my crafts ("Dock, Dammit" , "I Swear, Man" , "F***ing Dock!"). I got over this by using the CoM indicater in the editors and testing my payloads for docking stability pre-launch at the space center with "Hack Gravity" enabled. I hope this helps, or atleast inspires you somehow (probably not, though). Thanks for Reading, Happy Flying! -
Well my answer to this depends on how you state the question... Do I want to be a Kerbal in the sense that I get to discover new things, have my footprints be the first on other worlds, pilot creations beyond my dreams, survive ridiculous catastrophes and walk it off with a smile and never have to maintain my body (honestly, food?)... then, yes. However... Do I want to die all the time, get stuck in orbit forever without fuel and know nobody's coming(I won't die because FOOD, HONESTLY ), spend years on the surface of another world for a rescue that will ultumitally strand me in Kerbin's oceans and then simply get deleted? Well...no.

You mean like an SSTO?

The "You know you're playing a lot of KSP when..." thread
RazorWolf19 replied to Phenom Anon X's topic in KSP1 Discussion
When you see a box of herbal tea and mis-read it as "Kerbal Tea" -
I know this, that was my point; the portraits dynamically change. (but they didn't in the past) Yeah, overlooked that, sorry. However, in the future when they add life support and death from too many G's it will be feasible to die in the pod and have a K.I.A.
-
The Kerbal Emotions are dynamic and they change with the events of the flight. Also, each Kerbal reacts differently to certain situations depending on their courage and stupidity values (if they are stupid, they laugh more/ if they are courageous they don't freak out as much or often). As with the K.I.A, I'm not %100 sure why they were removed or when, but if I were to take a guess I would say 0.16. The reason for that is because 0.16 is the version which added EVA and therefore ever-changing pod occupation. In other words, there can't be a K.I.A if a new Kerbal can simply board the pod and take that place. Happy Flying!

Can you see other planets from Kerbin's atmosphere?
RazorWolf19 replied to SoldierHair's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'm pretty sure It's possible to see other planets from anywhere in the Kerbol system. However, these planets are only single pixels until you get close enough to notice any respectable size difference. That being said, YES you CAN see other planets from Kerbin, BUT I find it very unlikely that you would be able to recognize them... so, you could just say no. Happy Flying! -
Why Do Things Just FALL APART In This Game?
RazorWolf19 replied to NeoMorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
No, atleast not in my case. I don't play with mods, not yet anyway. The only mod I've ever downloaded is Kethane, but I have that in a separate save and it has one flight in progress; a little Kethane mining drone on the Mun.
