  1. Naw, I've seen this guy posting around on this forum... he knows what he's doing. I'm sure there's another problem.
  2. Funny you start a thread about this specific topic on this specific day. I'm starting to do interplanetary stuff in my game right now, and I recently set up a station around Duna (to connect my ships orbiting) and the first real mission to the surface was a three-pilot lander with two rovers on the sides. The landing went successfully and I left the two rovers and two Kerbals on the Dunan surface, sending the lander for a direct ascent to my station. The problem is that I was a little low on fuel so I just BARELY rendezvous/docked and now I don't have enough fuel for a return. I think "OK, well at least they're docked, I can send more fuel to them". I set out designing a fueling ship which ended up having to use half it's payload fuel to actually get into orbit. Now I have to refuel my refueler... once again, no big deal. More designing. Launch. Random failures...over...and over, different every time, too. I tried launching the same damn ship for a little over an hour and at one point I'm just like "screw this!" and rage-quit. This is the first time I've done that since learning how to dock. I feel you, man.
  3. ...Alright...? I think this goes into the development forum...you know...as a suggestion? I DO agree with you, however.
  4. Well, when I said "people on the older side" I meant more in the high forties and fifties even (like my own father)...sorry for the misunderstanding. Also, the "Gears of Slaughter: XI" really cracked me up, nice one
  5. Hehe...if only, right? The thing is he DOES have an interest in space, just not games.
  6. 14! Also, I'm really happy to see people on the older side expressing interest in video games! Now, if I could only get my dad to play...
  7. No, It's not a new discovery. Someone has found it previously. It's a retrograde marker for your Maneuver Node. (points opposite the direction of your maneuver) I'm not sure, but I think a dev commented on it and said it was forgotten because of priorities or something... don't quote me on that, though. Happy Flying!
  8. ...Mother of God... Thanks for posting this, however this only makes me feel worse about my lag problems as I am not confident with my computer skills and would never attempt something like this... GAH! So close, yet so far... Oh well, bad frame-rate for me I guess.
  9. -Snipping Red Wire... -Painting Easter Eggs... -Falling Down Moholes... I have some more, but they're half-assed so I won't bother. EDIT: I thought of one more! -Minimizing FPS...
  10. I was looking through some KSP files, and I seem to of found an extra, unused resource in the resources .CFG If anyone wants a look, the resources file can be accessed through: GameData/Squad/Resouces/ResourcesGeneric.cfg It's the last one, right after Monopropellent... Its called "Testium" Do you guys think this is some early testing of the mine-able resources coming in the next few updates? Feel free to comment if you know anything about it, I'd really like to know. Thanks For Reading!
  11. Well, you could use a Hitchhiker Storage Container, which doesn't count as a command pod so it won't fill with Kerbals. OR You could do the same thing you did in 0.19 and just EVA the Kerbals and leave them on the launchpad so when you launch another ship they will be cleared. Happy Flying!
  12. Well, the first thing I did when 0.20 came out was check if my station still runs like a dead turtle. Turns out it does. Anyway, with the new Kerbal Knowledge Base (Awesome, BTW!), I was able to find out that this station is only 334 parts... yet unplayable for me. I would like to know how large your stations are before they begin lagging, because I personally would like to know JUST how bad my computer is. Please don't take this as complaining about the patch, really, I'm not. Don't get me wrong, there is a definite improvement, however my station is just too much for my CPU to handle.
  13. As a whole, the 0.20 update is pretty much leaning towards the good side. However, i'm disappointed at the performance improvements; my game doesn't lag MORE, but it hasn't become any smoother either. But you know what? I'm not gonna complain about it 'cause the game is still great, and I handled it at this speed before so i'll handle it at this speed now. Sorry if this is a pointless post... just my two cents. THANKS for reading!
  14. I know it's been said millions of times before, I would like to personally thank squad for all the great work and obvious effort they put into this game. THANK YOU SQUAD! It's not much, but that's really all i had to say... well...actually... 0.20 is awesome as well
  15. I would love to learn the formula for calculating Delta V, I can imagine it would be extremely useful for my interplanetary missions. So, just a thought here, is it something to do with: -Amount of Fuel -ISP -Thrust from Engine And if those are the values, how do you work with them to get a m/s answer? Thanks in advance.
  16. First thing I'd do is see how well my Kerbin station runs. 'Cause seriously, I have like four ships attached and its basically unplayable even with max physics delta time. Then I'll probably mess around in paint with flag textures for a few hours.
  17. Sorry if I'm bugging you, but wouldn't it make MORE sense to release it on the weekend/Friday so the site won't crash? (less people, less lag?).
  18. OK, OK, I give up. You win. Thanks for the reply, it helps a lot
  19. Ah, thanks Sal. But when i mentioned that small rocket with the Mainsail, I actually flew that thing all the way up to the North Pole... still nothing. Is THAT normal?
  20. So up until recently, i never had any interest in using terrain scatters because my machine can barely handle the game as is. However, when 0.19 came around my game began running a little bit smoother. I turned them on and brought the density up to %100, but when I opened up the game, no trees/rocks were to be seen. I thought maybe it was just the space center, so I went to the tracking station and opened up a Mun Base: same result...nothing. I played around with the slider but it had no effect (%100 is just as dense as %10). Getting desperate, I turned on cheats and strapped a Mainsail onto a tiny rocket and began traveling around Kerbin in search for terrain features. Nothing. I know the feature works and I've seen how dense it's supposed to be in videos. So... what am I doing wrong? AND, how do i fix it? Thanks for reading!
  21. That's an interesting way to think about it . However, I think you misunderstood me. When I said that the space center scene hasn't been updated, I didn't mean the actual space center in-game, I meant the selection screen when you start the game (where you can choose the VAB, SPH, Launchpad, Runway and Tracking Station facilities). Thanks for your thoughts, though.
  22. Just wondering, how come the space center scene hasn't been updated/replaced yet? I mean, the Kerbin texture was updated from that ugly puke-green grass way back in 0.14, and then once again in 0.18, but there's still no visual change in the space center? Or is it just because the devs are waiting to change it when they introduce the new buildings? (as far as i know, these are just placeholders) Anyway, thanks for reading, have a nice day!
  23. Thanks for this! I downloaded the "All In One" package, it's interesting to see how far the game has come. Hopefully one day you'll get the rest of the versions!
