  1. What I always do is turn the RCS on and off. So let's say if you want to turn your spacecraft by 180 degrees, turn the RCS on for maybe around 2-3 seconds and then turn if off. Once you're near the end of the turn, turn the RCS back on to stop the rotation. As for docking using Mechjeb, you are absolutely right. Mechjeb goes crazy with RCS! However, I don't think a "fix" would be as easy as it sounds for Mechjeb to use RCS properly. But who knows... maybe one will come up with it someday.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to check it. So I guess we just wait until NathanKell fixes it... or is there a way of notifying him? Apologies, I'm not very familiar with how these forum threads work.
  3. Hello everyone, I was experimenting in KSP recently when I noticed a bug with the terrain at the Hammaguir launch site. It seems like the ground beneath the launch site is lifted a few hundred metres up. So when I launched my rocket, it crashed into the lifted ground a few seconds after lift off! Could you guys also check your Hammaguir launch site and see if it has the same bug? If so then NathanKell must be notified so he can fix it. Cheers
  4. I came across this mod called CoolRockets and saw that it also has RSS support. Basically it adds the visuals of the vapor of cryogenic fuel and also ice breaking off the rocket upon lift off. I just thought I would share this so maybe it can be added to the 'Suggestions' list of mods. Cheers!
  5. I commented on this forum thread a while back and complained at how time consuming it was to re-install all the mods this overhaul requires after every update. I am very genuinely impressed at how far this mod has come since I last played KSP. I installed the whole package on my computer in about half an hour as opposed to the 3+ hours I would normally have spent. I would like to congratulate and thank all the people involved in this project(specially NathanKell for managing most of the work) for their dedication and hard work towards making KSP a simulator rather than a game. I wish you guys all the best. YOU GUYS ROCK!
  6. I have always used MechJeb to launch my vehicles and make accurate or long in-space maneuvers. You have got to experiment with different ascent profiles to obtain the right one for your vehicle. I suggest doing a bit of maths and figuring out your vehicle's abilities and specifications e.g. initial and final TWR of each stage, specific impulse of each stage and so on. Then you will be able to decide on the ascent profile you will want to take. It's essential that you get the FAR config for MechJeb. Just one bad thing about MechJeb is its stiffness on the yaw and roll of the vehicle during ascent. Because you don't have an ascent profile that includes roll and yaw, on launches that are inclined, MechJeb often manages to nicely screw up your vehicle with the help of aerodynamic forces! Other than that it is a very nice tool, not to mention a realistic one as well, that manages to simulate computer controlled launch for those who don't know how to do fancy programming. Hope my experience was helpful.
  7. Thanks a lot NathanKell and the rest of the modding community for understanding. I would love to use the mod bundler as soon as it is available. Cheers
  8. Dear modders, Firstly I would like to thank all you awesome creators and contributors of all the realism mods for creating such marvelous and literally game changing mods for KSP. It has come to be an excellent collection of mods that changes the game into something that's no longer called a game but a simulator and this is awesome news for me! However, due to the enormous number of mods out there and the need to download a very large number of files to obtain the realism overhaul collection, it has become increasingly difficult and time consuming to obtain the collection of mods after each update. Personally, I am thrilled to dig into the realism overhaul and launch my own Proton or Soyuz rocket but unfortunately that means having to download the entire collection of mods, installing them and making sure everything is in the right place. This process takes at least five hours to accomplish and after a couple of weeks, it has to be repeated all over again. I would have had no trouble spending time on the process a few months ago but ever since I went to college it just is not possible to re-download everything because of the time needed. I know that packing up all the mods is not very practical as you will need the permission of every modder but please think of a way to solve this issue. This issue is growing as there are more updates and mods added to the list and there will eventually come a time when it is just impossible to re-install everything again after a single update. I would really like to get back to this game so please try and find a solution to this problem. Regards, Kasra Legitimate rocket designer and scientist
