Mission Duna 0.20 (And how it feels to be a Kerbal)
Windchild replied to Ferigad's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Nice format, with one major change needed... Checking the spelling (authoritys [authorities], stars [starts], etc) and grammar (Not all of as are related!) of this. Just a little more polish needed and it would be great! -
Thanks for making me the three flags
-
Would you mind making me three flags? 1. A black Trireme (like the one on this: http://wildwinds.com/coins/imp/marc_antony/RSC_0028.9.jpg) on a blue background 2. A blue Omega on a black background 3. The Union Jack (just regular, can't figure out how to resize it) Thanks!

Post your KSP community goodness here!!!!!

I think that the following deserve to be put in the KSP Weekly's. Project Babylon: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/26150-Project-BABYLON Laythe Mission: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/27552-Long-term-Laythe-Mission-(pic-heavy)-Now-with-**PART-5** -
I have landed a 'Mun Tower v2', which is a tower made up of two Hitchhikers, a Lander Can, and the least amount of parts to make it while it still looks good This is to remove some of the 1250-1500 parts currently around my 'Mun Command Tower' (which is going to be scrapped after I start building a modular Mun Base), most of which are from lander cans and their landing stages. Tonight, I plan on landing some more rovers on Minmus, which will no be used by the current Minmus research team. Tonight will also mark the start of my Munar Emergency Evacuation Base. I am also going to try (fifth time) to land the Mun Bug, a rover I build (launch stages from Scoundrel, thanks!)

I never leave a Kerbal behind except at a colony. However, I am forming a Mun Colony and am planning a group of Laythe Colonies (different islands). Any other planets/ moons are to be occupied until the Kerbals can return to either the Kerbin Hotel, the Mun Colony or (in the future) the Laythe Colonies.

Help required to launch this to the Mun
Windchild replied to Windchild's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I'm an inexperienced pilot (~100 launches, including failures at 25,000m or more, 0 casualties outside of testing [1 in testing] and bugs) Lucky, this is easier to control on a Gaming Laptop with 20 FPS to 2.3km, 40 to 20km and 60 above that The surface bug is so stable on Kerbin, I guessed it would be good on Mun... A few changes (mostly through batteries), and the Mun bug was born Glad to hear I was correct I can handle more parts, so ~550 isn't bad (I can do up to 700) Interesting to learn about it's previous iterations (thanks again ) That's good to know I'm currently traveling, so I haven't had time to launch again... -
Help required to launch this to the Mun
Windchild replied to Windchild's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I haven't got it past 30k meters That's no problem... I've only had time for two launches yet, neither of which were successful... Launch 1 got to 24,986 meters when it entered an unstoppable spin (game bug ) Launch 2 got to 70k meters when I had to end flight (no game related reason) For launch 2, I added some SAS Units for more Torque (please tell me if this doesn't work above 1, as I put on 6)... Handled much better and didn't require any RCS Thanks! -
Hello, I need some help building a rocket/ lander to get this to the Mun, where it will be transport for far away Kerbals... I would prefer if this wasn't changed from the current design (except the Rockomax 24-77's can be removed), as it is a series that I currently am using on Kerbin and plan on sending to Laythe. My Kerbin Hotel - from plans made by Macey Dean for a Laythe base, edited for use here - Commanded by Jebediah, Bill and Bob Kerman after successfully returning from Minmus (my only flight to Minmus and my farthest flight ever) - Nearly at maximum capacity of 22 Kerbals (manned by 20 Kerbals) Next to it is the Surface Bug... A transport to bring landed Kerbals (normally I can get a landing over or near KSC) to the Hotel, to load them them for the mass colonization of either Laythe or Mun.

Here are the pictures and a small description. Eventually, I plan on having it in a similar fashion to this thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/27552-Long-term-Laythe-Mission-%28pic-heavy%29-Now-with-%2A%2APART-5%2A%2A My first Kerbin Base: made up of tests on a Mun Base... All of this base's flights were ended to speed up launching (all Kerbals evacuated to the second base first) My Second Kerbal Base: from plans made by Macey Dean for Laythe, edited for my Kerbal Base - Commanded by Jebediah, Bill and Bob Kerman after successfully returning from Minmus (my only flight to Minmus and my farthest flight ever) - Nearly at maximum capacity of 20 Kerbals Launching the current Mun Command Module: Mun Command Module on the Mun: - the rover is from http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/26206-0-19-Dunebug-II-Duna-Return-separate-CM-Lander-Open-Top-Buggy-New-Design%21, as none of my designs have worked (yet) - everything else is my design, most of which were to drop off cargo (I tried to launch six rovers to Mun... only 2 survived in usable state) Mun Base: My Mun Outlying Communication Base: also from plans made by Macey Dean for Laythe, edited for this Base My Anubis flight's pictures are here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/26768-Anubis-Spaceplane-%28SSTO%29/page5

No in atmosphere pictures... 15 FPS means I have to pay full attention to the plane. However, I have some pictures of my flight now. I haven't refueled this craft yet.... Burning after leaving the atmosphere (still sub-orbital) Nice view of the stars: Looking back home (at apoapsis of 38 million meters) And, it still has fuel!
-
Everyone survived this: Rest of my photographs will go up in a little bit... Just preparing some story to go with them

Thanks (looks for like button) I'm too used to a forum that looks like this... But has a like button...

This is the first game I have played where uploading pictures can be needed, and my other hobby has a site where I can upload pictures easily... So, how can I upload pictures for KSP?
-
I'm very lucky... You'll see what I mean when I load the pictures (any help uploading?) Edit: I found Jeb, Bill and Bob!!
-
So far, I have had ~100 flights, all of which are manned. ~15 flights have landed on Mun. My Base (currently a bunch of random landers, four rovers and a communication base 3k from my main landing area) has ~30 Kerbals, commanded by Munbar Kermin. Two flights are orbiting Kerbin (Satellite and the Anubis massive SSTO Space Plane [34m meters by 38m meters, with 6k units of fuel left]) I have somehow managed to keep every single Kerbin alive, although I can't find Jeb, Bill or Bob (may have ended their flight after landing ) I'm using a Gaming Laptop, and have launched up to 800 parts at a time... Pictures coming later tonight.. Anyway... Hello!
-
This plane is the first plane I have managed to get into space... I managed to get it into a nice 34,000,000m by 38,000,000m orbit around Kerbin (Mun slingshot by accident) with just under 6000 units of fuel... It's also managed to drop me to 15 fps on launch... How many parts is it?
-
I'll suggest some Names: Capital Ships: Aquila Midway Enterprise Light Ships: Yorktown Warship: Spear of Kerbin

How did you learn?
Windchild replied to skipper8472's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Watching Scott Manley and HOCgaming... Doing the Math to see if what I made should work... Building a great abort system I'm wondering, am I the only one who hasn't killed a Kerbal yet? (and haven't done a single probe based launch...) Over 100 launches, no deaths (no quicksaves used except when Kerbin decided it didn't want to load...)
