  1. Nice! Looks like a single-engine EE Lightning too!
  2. Ok, as promised, here are a few pictures. First I tried to build an Astro-Train: Astro-Train I en orbite by comiquaze, on Flickr The concept worked, but it had no where enough d/v to go to Moho. So I went back to the drawing board and modified it so it could really work like a train. For that, I need to be able to ditch the main engine. Mise en orbite d'Astro-Train Ia by comiquaze, on Flickr So I stacked two more tanks behind the main engine and it took about 5-6 refuelling trips to top off the tanks. Ravitaillement de l'Astro-Train Ia by comiquaze, on Flickr No need to tell you that it was a failure. I loved the idea, but I missed the execution. Astro-Train Ia prêt au départ by comiquaze, on Flickr So I then blatantly copied Vanamonde's design and sent it on its way to Moho. Moho Station by comiquaze, on Flickr Moho Station by comiquaze, on Flickr Moho Station by comiquaze, on Flickr This time it worked. Now, I tweaked the design a little bit and I added a few Sr. docking ports and moved the standard ports around, to be able to carry a lot of stuff around. Constellation I by comiquaze, on Flickr Constellation I by comiquaze, on Flickr I'm currently adding modules to it, so far I have a CSM from my Agena family, I have a Space Station Core that's about to be docked and my Artemis lander will join them. All that will then voyage all the way to Minmus. I still need to add my Skycrane to it and to figure out a way to attach a few probes... Oh, and I still haven't figured out how to do a nice simple rover for the kerbalonauts to drive around in.
  3. I'll show you guys some pictures tomorrow.
  4. Well the second one that launched in one go, it wasn't carrying anything, it was just a test and I'm using it now as the future space station for Moho exploration. I still have much to learn.
  5. It worked, I made it to Moho with over 2000 d/v remaining. Sky's the limit now!
  6. I launched with all motors firing, barely made it to orbit and refuelled about 11 times until I had enough juice to get to Moho, where I arrived with 22200 d/v remaining. Looks like this is a winner! I have a few things I want to modify on this one. Many thanks again.
  7. Thanks, I'll be giving it a try. I fear many will die as a result...
  8. Hi! I currently have 0.20 and I'm using MJ 2.0.8. I built a nice big spaceship with lots of fuel to go outside the Kerbin area of influence and explore other worlds. I'm in a nice circular orbit, I'm in a suitable window to reach Moho, so I tell MJ to create a "Transfer to another planet", which it does. However, when I get to the end of that node, what should be my next maneuver? And the one after that? I'm at a complete loss. I've managed to do it once with a probe, but I can't recall how I did it.
  9. Vanamonde, I shamelessly copied your design since I couldn't make my giant space tug contraption to work. However, my part count is a little bit higher than yours and I'm unable to get it into orbit. I end up in space, not in an orbit with no fuel at all. How do you do it?
  10. Thanks guys, I'll try that out when I back from flying for the job. I'll let you know how it went.
  11. Hi! This is my first message here. I've been biten by the KSP bug last week, and I can't stop playing it. I've managed to build a space station in LKO and I'm planning on sending the first Kerbals to the Mun soon. As such, I did a test this morning. I built a satellite using the ISA MapSat upgrade and using my usual booster, I sent it on its way to the Mun using Mechjeb 2. Now, I used the 'Ascent Module' and the 'Launch to Rendez-Vous' feature to fly the mission. My booster did a fine job of flying it the payload into LKO, but then things went awry. The orbit never circularized, so I couldn't use the 'Hoffman' manoever. I tried various buttons, but all it did was to send my satellite in a huge orbit beyond the Mun and then using other buttons I managed to make it intercept the Mun but it then crashed on the surface. Luckily, it was unmanned, so no Kerbals were hurt. I'm wondering what could be the best way to achieve a Mun orbit with Mechjeb 2. Do I send the payload up on a parking orbit at around 100km and then circularize the orbit and use the Hoffman manoever to reach the Mun or ? And how do you get the craft in a LMO once you get there using the MJ 2 controls?
