  1. I don't think I've ever seen any mountains of significant size on Eve. It might not be geologically active.
  2. I find Eve to be very similar to Venus. It's in the same size domain as Kerbin. It's very hot. Check a thermometer the next time you're there, and those look like seas of molten metal to me. It has a very thick, soupy atmosphere. (Fun fact: the later Soviet Venera landers used a wide metal disc as a drag brake during the final landing, instead of a parachute.) If you land there, you're not coming home. Now that I'm thinking about it, the overall structure of the Kerbol system falls very nicely into place with Sol. Might be cool if it did some stuff a bit different, but oh well.
  3. Could you describe your workflow for building this thing? How did you keep all the parts accessible while building it?
  4. Hmm... someone remind me to do this one when I'm not at work.
  5. This is simultaneously hilarious and creepy.
  6. Actually, I'm more interested in building ships and stations in-orbit. They don't have to land anywhere, just derp around the system for as long as they can. There's not a selection for that.
  7. I'm going to take a guess that you're the 51+?
  8. 8/10. I'm afraid that if I gave you anything lower you'd make me look at that first person view again.
  9. I'm pretty sure that's not the case, Colonel Panic. Real ion engines have to take into account not only the path ionized gas coming out of the engine, but also the negatively charged ions pulling the spacecraft backwards. Also, the exhaust velocity out of an ion engine is absurdly high. Ionized atoms are just very very light.
  10. A crewed command pod doesn't consume power, but it doesn't generate it either, and it will need electric charge to run. If you don't have any scientific instruments or ion engines, you won't need to worry.
  11. I use the debug menu cheats on rare occasion. When I spend all afternoon building an interplanetary ship in orbit, haul it out to Jool, and discover that I'm 300 m/s short of making orbit, I'm not going to just do it all over again. When I'm making a video though, I do everything legit or specify that I've cheated and this is all just for funsies.
  12. I was also surprised that the surface gravity on Jool is only 0.8 G.
  13. They seem to periodically move to one of a set of positions, thus accounting for the clumping.
  14. I made this a while ago, but I only just noticed that there was a videos sub-forum here! Might be posting other stuff later.
  15. Kizarvexis: I just gave myself 100K for an Eve flyby, so your numbers are a bit generous. Halve them and you've got a deal. Anyone here do a good JFK impression? TheHengeProphet: I just noticed your name while typing it. You're up to no good, but I'll tackle them after the Munshot. Maybe during.
  16. I ran out of patience waiting for the career mode to come out, so I'm doing it myself. I will be starting with 50,000 dollars and will take jobs as far as I can manage. For the first one, the contract was self-imposed. However, now I will open the floor to all offers. Post a feat you want accomplished (a comsat network, or maybe a personal space station) and how much you bid to get it done, and if it looks profitable, I'll tackle it. EDIT: Okay, that's a lot of contracts.
  17. EDIT: I just realized that this doesn't meet the fan-works policy on videos. Sorry. The right thread is now at http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/24331-My-Kerbal-Career-A-Let-s-Play
