I had left over fuel in my orbital injection stage. Inused it to rendezvous with my station then separated... Not realizing That decoupling it would change its orbit a bit. It ended up passing within 300 meters of my station. I immediately built a ship with some structural bits made makeshift middle, got myself within 25 meters, and blew it up.

I'll probably play it... or not... nah, I'm gonna play it.

Yes, I'm sure the Devs are devestated that you poor souls might feel inclined to answer questions for new players. Everyone's reaction to new players is ,"OMG NOOBS!!!! Y U SO DUMB!!!! WACH TUTOTAIRAL LEVE ME ALONE!", in every single game ever released. You know what's funny? For an indie game, new players means more money for SQUAD, which means you old guys are gonna have more of a game to play. Maybe even a sequel in the future. And look at me, I was a "noob" 3 months ago, but I didn't come to the forum ranting and raving. I learned it all on my own and I'm damn proud of it, but some people need help and even I am spending time helping new players on Steam learning how to do things. This is a game, something you enjoy playing and talking about or else you wouldn't be on the forums. If they need help and you're willing to help, help. If not, let it go. If they post in the wrong section, don't be a jerk about it. This is one of the best communities for any video game. Let's maintain that reputation and keep being welcoming to the new guys and girls.

Which update has been the best thus far?
Travisfv replied to MacDuckenstein's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Everytime I read this thread from my phone I just see, "which update has beer..." But anyway. I think .21 is going to be amazing. Brandy new SAS, selecting who goes on mission (stock), and seeing the groundwork for career mode coming to fruition. -
I believe that after a nuclear Armageddon on Earth, small roaches took huge amounts of radiation, and grew very large and very smart. They adopted what human technology they could to their own use. Also, their love of snacks simply comes from the fact that aside from the Kerbals ancestor, Twinkies were the only thing to survive.

I know it wouldn't work, but I imagine if you were skilled enough (I'm talking like... smart person smart) it would be kinda crazy, If at some point you managed to launch so that when you do meet the other craft, speed matches for a quick moment, and then capture. Just imagine how cool it would be to launch and nail a target only a meter wide. But it is unfeasable so it's just my crazy imagination going crazy.

I'd like to quote you on the release date of "Soon". Do we have your permissions to print that and your name?
-
Sir! Sir! Can I quote you on that for the New Kork times?
-
Like a catamaran probe for Laythe made from those RCS pods?
-
They're killing me!!! I'm so damn excited I'm gonna burst. It would be great to do a 44th Aniversery Apollo 11 mission on the new moon terrain tomorrow!

Landed on Duna and returned. First interplanetary mission. Now stuck waiting for .21 or else I'm gonna lose any other progress with my new found ability.

I feel like kerbal engineer was a bit confused at the end there. It said I had 430 delta v leftover, but i think it also was counting the monopropellant (should not have brought as much as I did).

After over 250 hours in KSP, I have finally landed a crew on another planet, and returned them home safely. Up until now I had mastered the Kerbin system. Stations, Probes, Landings, Rovers, Docking, Rendezvous'. I can perform all of this within Kerbin's SOI without a fuss. That isn't to say I haven't tried. I have launched and landed plenty of probes and failed numerous manned times. Two days ago was my last failed attempt. As my ship dropped into Duna's atmosphere, the capsule was ripped from the rest of the ship. Needless to say it was a failure. So today I started again, carefully crafted the ship to have enough TWR, Delta-V, and parachutes for the landing. I breached Duna's atmosphere and skimmed over the surface. This gave me an orbit but my injection stage from Kerbin had some fuel, so I burned it and went for my landing. Touched down with 5 big parachutes fully deployed and at the last second fired my rockets to kill the last bit of speed. Simply looked astounding. Had 3050 D-V remaining. On the return home, seeing Kerbin in all her glory made my heart skip a beat. The capsule and landing module streaked across the atmosphere. Watching those chutes deploy and the legs go down was exhilarating. 430 m/s Delta V leftover. I have finally done an interplanetary mission. Sorry if everyone has heard enough of these. but dammit after 250 hours... I feel like I have opened up a whole new game. Hell, after 250 hours I still feel like I'm just scratching the surface and keep coming back for more.

Looking at you twcenter.com. I haven't seen blatant suppression of posters at all here. And the worst offense is deleting posts that disagree with your friends posts, almost to the point where it looks like he is talking to himself.
-
Yes we did.

Right now it's Call of Duty Black Ops 2 multiplayer. Trying to kill time until the next update, Total War Rome II, and GTA V. It sucks because I keep starting the game up to do something and I can't bring myself to start anything because I have no idea when the update drops.

I read that dig and was like, "these guys are a bunch if jackasses." You know what? I don't want to do the wiring on a very real space ship. 1. I spend hours in the VAB just building the rocket, to then do wiring for everything I want to test?! No thanks. 2. If you're going to attack other game in your games description, that shows a extreme lack of class and professionalism. 3. You know what? I've done the wiring on my classic Volvo, and helped my dad do his. You know what's the worst thing in the whole world? Wiring up anything, at all. It's time consuming and tedious and if you screw up something it could throw the whole thing off. No thanks, I'll stick to my cartoonish rockets and small, unrealistic universe.

How Did You Name Your Space Company/Corporation/Industry?
Travisfv replied to orangexception's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Mine right now is KSEA which stands for Kerbal Space Exploration Administration. But I might change it if I come up with a more original name. I really want it to sound like something you'd heard on the news. Like, oh I don't know.... NASA? Something like that maybe. -
Here is my list of rules which I refuse to deviate from. 1. Always, if possible, do what you are going to do in the game. 2. Where applicable, add more boosters. 2a. Either liquid or solid. 3. Every Kerbal is to be sent where they are going. 4. Mechjeb is something. 4a. So is Kerbal Engineer. 5. When de-orbiting a ship or part, make sure you're on the right planet. 5a. Or not. 5b. Scratch that, make sure you are. 6. Rockets are meant to go up. 7. Spaceplanes can happen to anyone, just not me. 8. Time warp is a legitimate tool built with the impatient in mind. 8a. Such as myself. 9. This is the end of the list of rules. 9b. Okay, this is the real end of it. 10. In section 9 there is a correction. It's meant to read 9a, where as now it reads 9b. Really though, I refuse to abide by any rules that doesn't suit me. Which is any rules.

I had KSP since version -50.21.... So I'm teh über veterans!!!! But really I've only played since it came to steam, but I have put 250 hours into it in 1 1/2 months. And back in -50.21 days, all we had was half an engine. And no Kerbin. And we walked 10 miles uphill in the snow bare foot to launch our half a rocket, and we were damn proud when all it did was flop to the side because it was made of noodles and old twizzlers.
-
Mostly everything is on hold in my current game. Once .21 hits, I'll be once again trying again to go interplanetary.
-
Undocking from my space station, I switch to orbit view. As I switch I hear the engines engage at full thrust. Aimed right at my station. Literally split it in half and sent it tumbling around Kerbin. Later realized I left the throttle up on my joystick... Which is now sitting in the closet because I refuse to let that happen again.
-
Everyone knows the Space Station dance. *ASAS ON for docking* Space station sways and moves with the beautiful sound of parts snapping, exploding, and Kerbals screaming.
-
I too would like to be a Kerbal. Or atleast live on Kerbin. They get all the cool space explorers, and we have... some satellites and an ISS. Sure we've been to the Moon, but are we going back? No. Have we been to other planets? No. You know why? Because Governments would rather spend billions on researching why people are fat or why cars are killing the planet instead of spending billions to put Man on another planet.
