  1. Yay, new series! Great fun so far, as always. This time though, I've decided to "play along", more or less - I'm mostly a rocket man, myself (hey, it's just my job five days a week) and haven't had much experience with building spaceplanes, nor have I ever used FAR or Deadly Reentry, which alter the game drastically after all. So, I've created a dedicated install with all the mods you listed here (and KW rocketry. I just *can not* play without it any more). What I'm still a little unclear about: What custom changes did you do? It seems you've altered the tech tree yourself (the stretchy tanks and srbs aren't on there by default, are they?) - would you care to share those .cfgs, or did I miss something?
  2. I've just watched "Europa Report", and I'm still pretty much floored (or rather: iced. Haha!). I'm a sucker for Hard Science Fiction, and boy, did this movie deliver. I don't think I've ever seen a more realistic depiction deep-space exploration since "A Space Odyssey". Although there's a main cast of 6 (six!) full people, comparisons to "Moon" will be inevitable - but they'll be justified. The direction, atmosphere and performances are great, conveying the utter desolation and danger of space, but at the same time, ever so slightly, an ambiguous sense of discovery and adventure. Nevertheless, this is essentially a horror movie, but let that not discourage you, silly people who don't like horror movies. There is exactly zero bull**** in this movie, and absolutely no cheap jump scares. My greatest problem with this movie is that I found the faux-documentary parts to be pretty much redundant, and at times anticlimactic. I would've very much prefered if the movie had actually ended on the last frame, without the Not-Tilda-Swinton CEO lady explaining why the last frame was so significant (not a spoiler, or so I hope). But those sections comprise about 5 out of 90 minutes, so it's a minor complaint. Anyway: "Europa Report" is, in my humble opinion, the best Science Fiction movie since "Moon". You should watch it.
  3. That video is magnificent. Uhm, also... this: (TOTALLY appropriate! )
  4. That's your loss. "Hurry up, we're dreaming" is a damn fine album. Anyway. I appreciate the idea, but the video works mostly thanks to the music. The editing is rather... jerky. As a whole it certainly doesn't live up to what it's obviously trying to imitate: (Those two videos should be mandatory viewing for every human being, by the way.) Don't get me wrong, that BFD-trailer is good. But it could be better.
  5. Dwarf Fortress. Everything else is just child's play.
  6. From the best damn Sci-Fi show there is: The Starfury actually is a space fighter concept that at least attempts to be somewhat feasible in real life. I'd guess that the design would, in fact, work pretty well as some sort of orbital tug and/or construction vehicle (minus the guns, of course ).
  7. A bug that doesn't exist anymore, or does it? I for one can finally place stuff on radial decouplers without finicking around endlessly.
  8. Considering they're probably 3D prints of the original models, those pictures at Shapeways might be pretty close to the actual miniatures. The question is: Are you willing to pay ~43€ for such a tiny Jeb? Anyway, my problem with the merch is that there's not enough of it! I'd like some more motives (and not just shirts, but also hoodies!) in different colors (well... one different color: black!), and I might actually get a few. And yeah: A large print of the old loading screen would be absolutely sweet. Who's the original artist, anyway?
  9. I started .20 this evening, and have encountered excactly zero problems in ~4 hours of play (to the Mun and back). The performance is *way* better on my oldish PC, too. As with any new version, however, I've made a clean install and have no mods installed yet. Are you sure that Subassembly doesn't work anymore, M5000? Building rovers in the VAB is a pain in the butt :-/
