Dog Gammit! I'm not able to see that here in Norway... I hoped to look at it through my telescope :c

I had a lander around Minmus, but I forgot to put on landing legs XD I launched a new rocket to minmus carrying the lander legs, and docked the legs to the lander. Also I recently gave up work the my Lodmir Space Station, it was going to be huge, but gave up eventually because it was to huge, and a lag machine. Deorbited it while I filmed it. IT WAS AWESOME. I need to post that video!

I'd probably name my pet Jeb if it were up to me

Okay, so got to my computer and took some pics. I don't know if they are good, because to me they seem a tad dark. Also some bad textures some places. Don't know if that's a setting or something else... Anyway here we go: This is the M1 supernova remnants view to the galactic core. Random asteroid view to the galactic core, and host star to the right. Star S Doramus's view of the large Magellanic cloud and Milky Way (Inside the cloud). Same thing... View of the Milky Way from the small Magellanic cloud. A nebulae and a cluster inside it! Another view of the Milky Way from a dwarf galaxy far far away... Some nebulaes in this picture... How many can you count? (I count twelve nebulaes) A weird looking nebulae. I like it. You can see it as a small dot in the previous picture. Two galaxies. I thought they were cool. These are actual galaxies, can't remember the name though. Same galaxies, different perspective. An awesome quadruple star system! ERMAGHERD. Though it isn't an actual system, it's called "RS 8404-479-7-1962945-4". RS for Random Star (randomly generated) -
So you understand everything about physics? I nominate you to the 2014 nobels award! On a more related matter, these kinds of movies are always gonna have something us geeks will complain about. No matter how hard the director tries to get it right. Like Europa Report. I complained so much, even though it wasn't so bad. I think i might have OCD or something lol

Will contribute with some screenies when i get to my PC again (next monday) -
Sometimes 64 bit can be overall slower, really depends on the system.

My gaming build: Intel Core i5 3570K, soon gonna overclock it. Asus Sabertooth Z77 board Asus GeForce GTX 770 (recently upgraded from Radeon HD 6970) Crucial Ballistix Tactical w/blue or orange LED's 1866MHz (8Gig total) Corsair H100 cooling with Noctua cooling paste 3x Corsair AF fans Corsair Carbide 500R, 2x 120mm in the front with LED's, one 200mm on the side with LED's OCZ Vertex 4 256GB Seagate Barracuda 2TB Chieftec something power supply 850W (OP i know) Asus DVD thing-a-ma-jigg (Who cares?) For input, I have: Logitech g400 mouse (LOVE IT) Standard Microsoft keyboard (LOVE IT) Corsair Vengeance 1500 (LOVE IT) Xbox 360 Controller (LOVE IT) Also had a 1TB external harddrive, but I lost it, or it got stolen :c Also there's blue LED strips around the case, and white LED's in the front fans and the big side fan. Will post pictures of it in a couple of days as I'm currently at my home, away from the computer (this is my school computer, which does surprisingly well at KSP for an integrated GPU...)

I agree with Kataeochi, IVA and B9 is the best experience! Have yet to try with a joystick though... I have a Xbox 360 controller though!
-
Oh, I didn't know they already made a 64 bit version for Linux! Though I think Squad is soon to update to Unity 4 with 64 bit capability. Really hope so!
-
KSP will not run any faster as it's currently only available in a 32 bit version, which can only use app. 4Gigs of ram. 3.92 to be precisly.

Probably would orbit the CoM for a bit, but later be struck by some debris. Or if lucky, the debris would just change it's course back and fourth because of the uneven gravity fields, eventually becoming so distant the debris will have minimal effect on it. Could a good way of testing the gravity effect thing would be having an electric coil in vaccum, in a micro-g environment, put voltage over it, make something greatly affected by electromagnetism orbit the coil (seems ridiculous), and taking one of those light-speed cameras to film it when the coil shuts off? My problems with my idea is that the magnetic field will variate, or distribute the field uneven maybe. Also the coil takes time to shut off too...

So my little "theory" was correct then, just wanted a bit of clarification, which i got. It all makes sense! This forum is simply awesome. I love it!

Adam Savage doing the Doctor Who theme with TESLA Coils!
Rjhere replied to Goldham's topic in The Lounge
I love the Doctor Who theme, and being done with tesla coils... Indeed, my mind is blown too! SCIENCE! -
I am 90% sure that it's been asked before, but what the heck. Let's say you have a object orbiting a black hole a light year away. Somehow the black hole disappears into nothingness, and the gravitational pull along with it. The object orbiting the black hole, would it continue orbiting for another year, or is it instant? I think that it will orbit for another year, but I'm not quite sure. The reason for that is the theory of gravitational waves, just like the waves of sound or light(?) If gravitaiton is some kind of wave, it must be like light, wich cannot travel faster than light itself. Am I correct on this, or is there something more to it. I know gravitation is a thing we don't understand yet, but I think this would be something scientist's knew. Cheers!

No Rcs for translation?

If you don't play any other games as much, focus your money on the processor, I'd suggest an Intel Core i5. Also after recent experience, buy a nVidia card, GT650 or higher. With something like that, you'd be able to run everything maxed out! I'd suggest you build the PC yourself, but that requires that you watch youtube tutorials on how to do it. Linustechtips or NCIXCOM is a very good source! And you save a little money on it too!

I just saw the Andromeda, AND the Triangulum galaxy in my scope!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GAOWD, IV'E BEEN SEARCHING FOR ANDROMEDA FOR A MONTH, UNTIL I REALIZED THE FIRST POINTER STAR I LOOKED FOR IT FROM, WAS THE MIRACH STAR I WERE SEARCHING FOR. I am now Atronomer lvl: 2 Ive also located the Triangulum constellation and the one below Cassiopeia and to the right of Andromeda! Now that I think of it, should I start a astronomy blog? I have been wanting to start a KSP gaming series on youtube for a while, and maybe include a astronomy blog in there somewhere? I think it would be fun!
-
Well, if you were in a universe with only one gravitational object, no matter were you are, billions upon billions of light years away from... say Earth, eventually you will be dragged against the object. Black holes in, let's say the Triangulum galaxy affects us. Gravity affects everything app. infinite. But yea, there's a distance where the gravitational pull from the object is insignificant.

Is it possible to exceed the speed of light?
Rjhere replied to stallion x1's topic in Science & Spaceflight
There's no way we can know, as we stand in our understanding of physics today, no. But there's been progress recent years saying Einstein's relativity theory and even special relativity is wrong, so there are probably things we haven't discovered yet. Also there's a theoretically posibility that we might be able to bend space and time around a spacecraft, making travelling "faster" than light a probability. And there's been recent development in this concept wich makes it half as power hungry, now only requires 20 grams or so of anti-matter to travel to Proxima Centauri! Though this are not proven in any ways, I find this concept to be exciting! And there's alot of theories that are promising theoretically, but right now we're stuck at a speed record of .1%C, one thousandth of the speed of light! A quick google says it was the Helios 1 or 2 that achieved this. -
3/10 Seen ya before somewhere... can't remember exactly where, but ive seen you!
-
Yes! That makes alot of sense! I didn't think of the PhysX software from nVidia! That's gotta be the reason Camacha can run this game all smooth on max settings with his GTS 450 and me with a 6970 lagged all the way around! Thank you for this revelation of awesomness! And also, carrots are indeed awesome. Clear skies everyone!
-
Nice! My dad says i can borrow his Canon EOS 400D or something. Just need the adapter!
-
That's exactly the thing, I just changed my graphics card and everything went smooth afterwards. That's my question, and if anyone have an answer for that, please tell me because I'm curious! And yes i know the game is in alpha and poorly optimized, I know quite some about computers so I don't need any lessons from any one here...
-
Yea, I have 8GB 1600 or 1866MHz memory, I can't remember exactly. And of course I run 64 bit windows. Anyone who is able to list up their computer in such a fashion, probably have 64 bit operating system. Unless they have a reason to run 32 bit.
