Sorry to say that I have no pictures but my most clutch landing does not involve a ship but a kerbal. After a complete staging failure over the moon I eva'd jebidiah out of his doomed craft and used his pack to bring him to a hard (but livable) landing on the mun. The reason that's clutch? .1% pack fuel remaining.

Really looking forward to the release. GLad to know we'll have a shuttle to take things into orbit soon.

Ok, first problem I see is you are using mods, not the best way to start out a 'convince you to buy or not' video as it sets up the expectation that the mods are stock, even if you say they aren't in the video itself.

But of course max. You guys put alot of effort into this game and most who play it are probably just happy they can.

I've gotten good at making 1.25 meter rockets as any 2M rocket I make just implodes.

Love this mod a lot myself just wondering when we'll see any updates on the progress, .21 is getting close to release and all we have is the dev build. I'm not complaining mind you just curious the status of the mod at the moment.

Honestly, neither. I have landed on minmus and I have landed on the mun but right now I just finished a 20 satelite launch to make a trans kerbin comm system. I haven't been able to build anything that could escape kirbin's sphere of influence reliably enough that I could get to anywhere and have a chance of landing.

Uh, considering that the weekly updates have included all of this, and that .21 has left the development phase and is in the QA phase, I'm certain that they won't abruptly remove the training facility, the SAS updates, because otherwise they won't have an update to release at all. As for the resources hype.. that was entirely on our end not theirs.

Look to the right of the VAB in your first pic, just above the tree line, I see the very top of that tower that you claim isn't there. Also with your second pic, I notice that you are MUCH closer to the VAB than otherwise said. Also why wouldn't the landing area have a control tower considering it's rather vital to keep an eye on air traffic even if only the shuttle was the concern?

Yeah, I wouldn't take that 'cloud' thing serious considering it's a pic of the real life VAB in florida.

Is there any reason you posted this while a thread about just this was still on the front page? No disrespect intended here but this seems like something the mods would have jumped on rather quickly.

Saturn V: cluster of 5 engines in first stage and 2nd stage, Space shuttle: cluster of 3 main engines on the shuttle itself, soyuz as given, Saturn IB. There are more but I cannot find them easily. If you want to get technical in terms of engine bells seen then even the gemini program used a cluster of 2 engines.

Just yesterday I was trying to land on the mun with what I thought was a tried and true rocket design... problem is the staging got messed up about a thousand meters up and jeb had to bail. Managed to land jeb instead but he had no pack fuel left. How close did I come to failure? .1% of a kerbal's EVA fuel.

Did the kerbals discover the amigara fault? On a semi more serious note, that is pretty scary

Never thought I'd have to drudge out the design I first used to land on the mun but if proof is demanded, it shall be given... once I demod my KSP

Not quite, look at the heavy variants of some major rockets, such as the Delta IV heavy, it's a center stage, with two essentially center stages strapped to the side, sure there's no fuel lines leading to the center but it still works quite well in reality.

Well if a pile of debris with an intact capsule counts as a landing, then my first landing was on ike, wasn't paying attention during a warp and barely got out of it in time to save the capsule... never sent a rescue mission

Sorry I didn't quite word that well, what I meant to say was that using a gravity turn to get into a low orbit allows you to then use the oberth effect to your benefit but it can only be done when in orbit, not inside the atmosphere.

I see there's something that most of the posts here forgot to mention, the oberth effect that can be exploited by gravity turn to orbit first, the lower in the gravity well you are the less delta V you will need to change your velocity.
