It normally comes down to struts for me. If a plane isn't strutted tight enough the flexing will cause the landing gear to run out of alignment resulting in these symptoms, I notice that you don't have many on your craft, only a couple on the wings. At the very least I suggest a strut from the front wheel to both wheels on each side to keep it all pointing in the correct direction. Or you could try moving the landing gear inwards to stop the craft sagging in the middle? This engineering flow chart should help in future

Just put 200 tons worth of Hydrogen into orbit around earth in RSS to see what I can get out of the NERVA's with Real Fuels Mod. Something is telling me I'm going to be disappointed. Yes those are 3.75m docking ports. The actual tank is 10m wide...

Realistic Solar System Crafts - MEGATHREAD
Alfondoo replied to Captain_Party's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
I've been station building around Mars in preparation for a manned mission. Working on a reusable lander at the moment that will hopefully fulfill my little Kerbals dreams of walking on Mars. Kerbal Alarm Clock works with RSS -
My new respect for the reworked landing legs
Alfondoo replied to dudester28's topic in KSP1 Discussion
This is why I love the new landing legs. I tried landing on the spike at the north pole and ended up sliding into a gully, my legs saved me -
My science station around the Mun, complete with service module craft, re-usable lander/science craft and many science modules to be carried around the Mun Also, my first attempt at a shuttle system came off rather tidy.

Just downloaded this to try it and I'm sorry to report that your "object reference" bug is still alive and kicking. Set up the server as per instructions, allowed all firewalls/ports etc. I can connect to my localhost just fine, however when my brother tries to connect from within the same LAN we get this, which is a closed report on github - System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at KMPServer.Server.hostingLoop() at KMPServer.ServerMain.hostServer(ServerSettings settings) Stacktrace: at KMPServer.Server.disconnectClient(Int32 index, String message) at KMPServer.Server.handleConnections() The server saves and shuts down. OS: Win7 64bit CPU: i5 2500k Hope this helps to track it down Good luck with this mod, it's pretty exciting!

Yeah you do seem to be unfairly prejudiced towards modding. All manner of great things have come out of modding games (counterstrike to name one of the biggest success stories). I would seriously try out the robotics mod, this brings the biggest engineering challenge - make a base that deploys and folds out to create a massive kerbal utopia/jungle-gym but can also fit inside a 2.5m space. Or a cargo bay + robotic arm that deploys your satellites for you, the possibilities for this game are endless with mods. I understand that there ARE unfairly balanced mods out there, but like you said, you've won the game. Who are you being unfair to if you install a mod now? You've achieved everything apart from fun....

DEET-3500 "Mozzie" Kethane Harvesting drone
Alfondoo replied to huggy's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
haha! nice! Also nice craft dude, love the face and the hunched over look. Great design -
Glad to see a lot of logical, down-to-earth opinions on this topic. Very little argument going on which tells me that we mostly agree with each other; this also tells me that we are very like minded individuals who play KSP. Personally my opinion, without going too deeply, is that without devising a new economic/political system that places our health, wellbeing and our species future at the forefront of it's purpose (instead of growth, wealth, power and control) we will slowly succumb to greed and circle the plughole of civilization. It's interesting that government isn't on this list. I'd say this is currently one of the leading dangers to our civilization. Obviously when I say "government" what I really mean is the group of Directors and Chairmen that sit behind the politicians telling them what to do, but it's the way the political landscape is designed at the moment that enables power to so readily be bought and sold. When we have hundreds of next generation energy prospects on the horizon and none of them are being embraced, suppressed even, for fear of what wrath the petro-chemical companies will infer upon us you have to ask where we are going as a race. This neatly brings me onto money "without which, none of this would be possible"........ >.< doh!

My new Jumbo, Deployable fold-out science base at the front with a spinning cargo bay at the rear. Flies really well and has a good range while being fairly light thanks to the procedural fairings.
-
So I've been messing about with the interstage adapters coupled with the robotics mod and have come up with this, a deployable science base at the front with a spinning cargo bay door at the rear of the craft. Pretty amazing what you can do between the two mods Keep up the good work! Love these parts.

I spent the last couple of hours developing a super light payload bay. It swivels to open and is set up in such a way that it doesn't rotate the craft itself.

I reckon it's between landing on Moho and building a spaceplane that will travel further than Minmus. Been trying both for ages

Really nice design! Simplicity at it's finest.

Hey folks, I present to you the Albatross K1. Probably my finest vehicle to date, hence I wanted to share it with you all. Very easy to fly. Only 181 Parts. It features: Short-Takeoff-Short-Landing systems - Using RCS and a downward facing engine, this also helps to aid it's ability to lift off in water. Parachute - For precision landing. Able to land on top of the VAB, possibly most other places with ace pilot skills. Sea-Plane landing gear High altitude, high range cruise capability - Range: Enough || Altitude/Speed: 25km's @ 1350m/s (could easily be extended with extra intakes) Easily adapted to take on a range of uses such as extra seats for your Kerbals or even sling some cargo underneath it. It's not quite a VTOL but could easily be made to do so. Almost no mods were used for this, P-wing is the only mod needed. I have taken care to scour the craft file for any other mods but I think it's clean, please let me know otherwise. Without further ado, here's the album containing some highlights of this craft! Action Groups: 1: Main Engine 2: Vertical Engine 3: Deploy Chute 4: Cut Chute (emergency) Brakes are rear only, for shorter landings I recommend adding the forward gears too. Careful though, it has a high center of gravity. Download Here I hope you enjoy it

Try using this technique. It looks messy in the VAB but it works Or am I not understanding?

Thought it was time for a new heavy lift design - more reliable that is... This thing is a beast, can lift 4 orange tanks with what has so far been a 100% success rate across the board very pleased.

Been toying with new base concepts for when my next Duna windows comes around.
-
This game looks so pretty sometimes that you just have to stop to take a photo.

[Showcase] Replica Craft thread!
Alfondoo replied to Mr. Pseudonym's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Here's my Duna Science Lab. Kuriosity. Video: Uses a number of mods - Novapunch, KAS, B9 Lining up the trajectory from Kerbin before decoupling the rover pod was a feat in itself and gave me an insight into just how much skill JPL have. Massive respect there. -
Center of Lift Weirdness.
Alfondoo replied to Caliber Sarn's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Try placing the p-wing first. Then look at the center of lift as you hold G to make them bigger, I find there is a maximum size before they start distorting the lift. Doesn't seem to be the case with stock wings. -
Sticky Launchpad?
Alfondoo replied to thereaverofdarkness's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I ran into this the other day. Testing with various sizes I actually found that if the engine exhaust is touching the launchpad the thrust is effectively "blocked". If you make a craft small enough, you can actually start with it on the floor and thrust up, you won't move until you rock the vessel sufficiently to topple it and as soon as the exhaust finds air you'll lift off. Launch clamps are a winner.
