  1. By the looks of it some people didn't read my second post on this thread... :/ What I meant by atmosphere was not a "Physical" one, which will slow your craft, but rather a "scientific" one, where you will be able to obtain unique data which you can beam back to Kerbin.
  2. Okay, I understand that many people wouldn't call it an atmosphere per se, however, consider this: Wouldn't it be interesting if we could pick up information around the Mun in KSP in a similar fashion to LADEE? (This was what I was really getting to) admittedly the 'atmosphere' wouldn't slow down the plane or have any physical effect, but if we could pick up readings and information, now THAT would be really exciting. What's more, It would make use of the Science parts tab - which I for one, have largely left unused.
  3. Interplanetary travel - I've only successfully done so Twice.
  4. Hey Guys, I've been following NASA closely (For obvious reasons) and the LADEE probe that was launched to the moon, as you know, is going to pick up readings of the Moon's thin atmosphere. I was just wondering, considering that the Kerbolar/Kerbal system is a sized-down version of our own, is there a possibility that the Mun may have a very thin atmosphere implemented? I know it may be a long shot, but it'd be fun to do something more productive with probes than to just have them flying around with no real purpose except for the Gravitron readings (in the Vanilla version at least, for addons that'd be a whole other story). Hope this post spurs some thoughts and ideas, both for devs and addon developers!
  5. Just checked out the stats for this mod and it's mind blowing - the first stage has a whopping 10500 thrust, that's 3000 more than the largest engine in the NovaPunch series. That's two mainsails, and then some! The rocket can easily reach a 100km orbit with most of the fuel left in the third stage; the 4th stage (a smaller rocket just aft of the lander) wasn't even used. That's 32 TONS which was easily pushed up there! This is amazing. I'll definitely be using this rocket for later projects in the future.
  6. Agreed. In fact, by the time the 4th launch had failed, the scientists had actually fixed the problems which had caused the failures in the engines - however, the Kremlin had lost patience with the Soviet space program and refused to invest in another N-1, which was massively expensive. The project was canned and the parts were ordered to be scrapped, however the scientists hid the engines as they were literally cutting edge. One of these were tested by america in the '90s by lockheed martin and not only did it work perfectly, it actually performed much better than their own rockets.
  7. This looks fantastic, I'll be downloading it. If the third stage isn't used, could it be possibly used to lift heavy payloads into kerbal orbit? If so, what'd be the maximum payload weight? (I usually transport between 10 and 20 tons into orbit at a time)
  8. WAIT NO MY BAD. I forgot to Get rid of the old mechjeb parts, as well as the plugin files of the same version. silly me. Works fantastic, doin' a great job. (Y)
  9. Hey all, I've tried using the 1.9.8 as well as the latest version of MechJeb, however whenever I launch a spacecraft MechJeb fails to correct the course of the craft. The automated throttle works perfectly, however it's just that particular thing (probably the most important one) which It can't do. I'm using KSP 1.21, so its a probable indication of something that may need to be fixed (possibly because of how the SAS works nowadays).
  10. Sweet as, thanks for the update. Unfortunately I use the Steam version, so I got an auto-update...
  11. This is the exact issue that I have. I've used HyperEdit to put the ISS up into space, however whenever I try to launch a soyuz rocket and dock it with the ISS, the docking ports aren't responsive. No magnetic forces, nothing. I've tried every type of port available on the ISS and yet none of them are responsive. To add insult to injury, the 0.21 version has just been released, and some of the BobCat parts (specifically Soyuz and Progress, the causative parts vary) cause KSP to crash. Sorry BobCat, but I guess this is a forewarning of people banging at your door to hurry up with the compatability EDIT: One of the parts is the following: BobCatind/Parts/SoyuzTMA_Instrument_Servis_module/model000. Hope that helps you out.
  12. I had a problem like this a long time back, but I think my problem was the opposite. So, what's exactly happening during launch? Is the rocket flipping over either before or during your gravity turn or is it refusing to turn at all?
  13. Agreed. I would Love a steam-based achievement system for KSP.
  14. I've tried docking by hand after ORDA failed me, however it still wouldn't connect no matter what... and as for the docking cameras, they apparently don't work if a soyuz capsule is trying to dock with the ISS (This is the one i've been trying it with), making the docking cameras useless. I've also run a ground test (making small rovers with various docking ports) utilising the probe dock and vanilla part docks, and the vanilla docks won't connect with the probe dock (i'll try to upload a photo if it doesn't make sense)
  15. I have a problem with all of the non-vanilla docking ports in 0.20 - they don't work at all. Anyone else have the same problem?
  16. Is this compatible with BobCat's LK moon lander / Progress craft?
  17. Is this the same mod author as the one on the Kerbal Spaceport? (Spaceport is currently down for maintenance so I can't check) It's just that i've seen multiple copies of SpaceX craft and I don't want any parts to interfere with the ones I already have.
