  1. Great idea should be stock in the game, I suggest though an indicator to tell you which mode it is in.
  2. The Kerbals send a rocket to the Mun, but Jeb, Bill and Bob have unusual problems. What would it be like if YouTube could delete certain elements of your video, well Jeb, Bill and Bob find out as content I'D goes awry. Disclaimer: This is not how YouTube handles content I'D.
  3. The mission to Duna continues with the construction and testing of the various Duna exploration crafts, which include a rover to explore the canyon on Duna, a Duna base where the Kerbals can work from and rest after a hard days work, then we have the Duna escape craft to get our Kerbals back from the surface of Duna and lets not forget the transfer stage that will get us to Duna and back. We run into a few problems which our engineers mostly fix but will it cause the mission to plemmet into the ground before it leaves for Duna? Find out in the testing phase of our Duna interplanatery mission. We are also debating wether to land on Ike at the moment it has been scrapped from the mission plan, if you want me to land Kerbals on Ike let me know in you want an Ike landing as well. 4. Cheer guys i thought so, so here I go with with limited understanding, ignorance and brute force I will succeed (You only fail when you stop trying).
  5. Hi Kerbalnaughts I am trying to dock two space craft but it seems to take a couple of orbits to do so, I was wondering is there any way to achieve a rendezvous after launch? I know it's possible because iv seen HOC do it by accident but was wondering is it possible to be able to achieve the launch to rendezvous every time? I want to be able to do so without much Jeb but if I have to use phase angles that's fine, but the problem that I can see is every rocket will be different and it would be hard to work out the time for assent through the atmosphere, any idea? I'm guessing it's going to a case of trial and error each time or can you use TWR and delta v to work it out. Cheers for any help in advance.
  6. "Arrrh... That's impossible that can't happen". I seem to say that more often now to sci-fi films and shows, I always enjoyed star trek due to the fact they used real science theories unlike the modern star trek, even the engineering aspects of the ship seems implausible, why build a ship with huge wide open spaces, fit steel works in the middle with water rides, don't they know they are in space if their gravity fails or they fall to a planet what is going to stop the internals being ripped apart. I know they are trying to make it popular and I suppose they may encourage more people to have interested in science but a bit of common sense wouldn't be amiss. Ah that's off my chest back to the real world and on to Duna.
  7. Hmmm dinosaurs I wonder what a kerbin dinosaur would be like? They may have created space travel and gone to another star system that's why there are no fossils found on Kerbin, they must have left due to the meteorite impact we see on the planet.
  8. I loved Lego 90's was my era and I'd buy more Lego now if they created a Kerbal space program Lego set with all the stock parts, perhaps coupled with some electronics so your stages can be de-coupled and a space to put small rocket motors in the rocket parts, it'll give hours of fun or 10 min's (id go for 10min's of fun)
  9. That's true but also the opposite could be true, take for example NASA mission for the moon then a lot of people thought of the moon as something that rises and sets, but then it was a place you could visit, I'm sure that got quite a few people to look up and say I want to be involved, at that point they probably looked at science as important other than limited to brainy people. My point being yes you may have seen science as a passing fancy untill something makes you think otherwise. I'm going to take a look at the Khan Academy site at a glance it looks quite intetesting.
  10. The same was true for me, but my career forced me to undertake maths as it is a requirement of electronics especially if you want to become an engineer. Now I love maths it's another reason I fell for the game, I have even got to the point once where I calculated my delta v and compared against mech Jeb just to prove to myself I could still do it. This game does make you feel proud to be geeky.
  11. Hi Kerbal's the question that has sprung to mind is how did you got interested in science? It is an interesting notion that it could be something small like an apple falling on your head, or something mind bogglingly big like we'll the universe even a launch of a space craft by NASA. My interest in science started when I was about six or seven, I was in the children's section of the library and was very bored, no I wasn't reading type but I picked up a book just because it had the picture of the earth on the front, the first page I came to was that of the sun in hydrogen alpha (the one with the red filaments) that was the moment I was hooked I read the book, but was hungry for more there was nothing else Inge children's section so I went off to the science section, and I came across material worth more than gold (I have nothing against gold as it's formed they believe in the heart of a supernova) and that's when I saw pictures of planets, galaxies, I didn't understand most of the books but I understood this was the start of my fascination in astronomy and science. Well what's your story? Was it a game, a book, someone you know? let's exchange experiences. I still head straight to the science section first in the library or book store.
  12. My view is save curiosity as it has a potentially longer life span, Cassini bless it's silicon sole will go to silicon heaven it has been battered by the radiation from the belts around Saturn, it requires fuel to maintain it's orbit (and requires a little to deorbit to avoid contamination) so it may continue to conduct science and is older of the two. However curiosity is younger, it has the atmosphere to provide protection from the full triggers of space and the potential to provide us with the science to send man to mars with the aim to colonize, that is my view in any case (But I'd rather save both)
  13. Hi guys great work so far can't wait to see what else you come up with. But the Kerbol system seems to be looking a bit sparse we need something new to explore, my idea is to include comets into the game, a short term comet in a close orbit and a comet with a large orbit which is difficult to get to due to the high speed it gets to when it approaches the Kerbol sun. I love all the great things you have done for the game and all the mods that this great community have created, but we all need something new to explore that we all can relate to in conjunction with the new science system that we are having fun with. Cheers guys great work keep it up I have been waiting for a game like this since I was 10
  14. Simple how to get into orbit video with small standard rocket, not very good but does give you the basics. http://youtu.be/ED2jQZzhEDY http://youtu.be/ED2jQZzhEDY
  15. Kerbal science shorts were Jebidiah puts his science shorts on in the name of science, with the help of professor Kerman. This time it's about atmospheric drag. http://youtu.be/bLiXR-Bmlws http://youtu.be/bLiXR-Bmlws
