Use the Science -> Funds strategy with 100% comittment to earn some funds. It won't be a lot of cash and i don't think you can use the science you already collected to your account. But why not. A small funding boost to a big program that wants to do missions besides contracts could be useful. Build some expensive sattelites and lifters for the sole purpose of letting them desintegrate in the sun. Call it an experiment. Try to leave the solar system. Build a huge space station with a lot of modules and room for hundreds of kerbals and deorbit it. Maybe you will need to stop the sci -> funds strategy after that and insted opt into a 100% sci -> rep one.

What's the Most Science/XP You Gained in One Mission? (Spoilers)
Baenki replied to arkie87's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I got 700 sci from Minmus. There could have been more but bevause I trashed the engine of my fancy, overspecced 2 stage lander i couldnt hop around without loosing the first stage. I try to play realistic. So the 2nd stage is only for ascends. I did a materials study, goo , surface sample and an eva report while landed and some more evas while ascending for docking to the orbiter. The orbiter itself did some sience too. Even if the mission was totally overspecced it was the most profitable sience, money and rep wise. I combined 3 missions. Surface science, flag, return to kerbin for a total of ~700k funds. On the other hand the equpment did cost around 130k. -
Wow! Thank you very much. I play this game for so long now and didn´t even know this was possible. +REP Thread can be closed.

I am bad at coding but I have something that is bothering me. If I have a probe or an abandoned ship in Orbit without any electric charge and no energy generation it is debris, but I can not relabel it because, guess why, it has no electric charge. So it will always appear in the tracking station as an active flight. I don´t want to delete my dead ships, maybe sometimes they come in handy for... something. Also, historical artifacts. So is it possible to write some kind of script, that checks for the following: Crew = 0 (even for capsules) AND Electric Charge = 0 AND no power generators (solar panels, RTG, etc...) AND power consumption >= 0 If all criteria are met, relabel the flight as debris. Could someone do that?

While taking the stock D45 Stearwing on a joyride I ran out of fuel so I turned around and tried to glide towards the island runway. Obviously I failed. So I decided to do an emergency landing in the ocean. I tried my best, used RCS to stabilize the plane but didn´t have high hopes that Jeb and Val would survive. I did hit the water with a speed of 35-40m/s and the nose maybe 2° below the horizon on the Navball, landing gear out. A huge splash, explosions, the plane ripped in half but the crew lives to crash once more. So was the physics of the water changed or have I just been lucky?

Why don't make the Tier I runway resemble an airfield for small sports planes. The runway itself could be a smooth, ground level strip of grass which is outlined by some flags and lights. You could still have the Tier I limitations. Heavy airplanes would sink into the ground, so weight and part limit. To limit it's length put some stoppers on the end. A fence, maybe a heap of dirt. Just for the looks put some white numbers and an outline on the grass. Like the paint on soccer fields. Then for TII upgrade to a smooth, groundlevel dirt runway. Just a higher mass/part and size limit. After that a simple paved airfield which is a little longer. For the last Tier ad a fully fledged, extra long runway, like the RL space shuttle used.

Never heard of it. But referring to Wikipedia I think it is probably the most hated city in the world. Raisin capital of the world Surely raisins are nothing like pistachios. Pistachios are awesome. I actually like raisins... sometimes.
-
Did you see any green midgets? Iran or U.S.?
-
Well it is reasonable. The color scheme seems fitting with pistachios. So can we conclude pistachios are #bada55 ? Discuss!

I actually know they will send someone to pick the pc up and take it to the repair center. I contacted them one week before to ask about it but I really needed the PC for uni at the time. So I will call them next week to get it fixed. -

Well that didn't work. I got a black screen when I tried to access the BIOS. I got a black screen trying to access the UEFI. Support it is!!! -

Well i can not take the card out without guarantee vanishing. But if i deactivate it by device manager the errors stop. Bios is still not accesible though. -

I can not take out the battery of the bios. If I open the case I lose the guarantee... Bios/UEFI somehow is not acessible. I just get a black screen, no interface. I'm going to contact customer support. My guarantee includes them picking up the PC from my home, testing the parts, repairing or replacing broken stuff and bringing it back to me. If there are still problems after that, I'll get an enterely new PC/refund. -

Actually now the PC completely broke down... seems something is broken. BIOS doesn't work, blue screens, game and driver crashes. Even Youtube videos freeze, while the sound keeps going. And I have graphical glitches everywhere... Well luckily I have 2 years of collect and return service. The computer is 4 months old. -
Actually the Planet Kerbin is cheating. You should have to start on EVE and all your missions should be to reach Eeloo or the center of the Sun.
-
Yes they definitely are. So are command pods. Your crew should only be allowed to use external seats. Oh and engines should be illegal too. I wonder why struts were allowed back then, with all the unstable joints.

I need to share my stupidity with you. A few months ago i got a new High-End PC. Specs: I7-4970 Radeon R9 280x 16gigs of Ram etc. Now a week ago i got myself a new Dell U2414H Full HD monitor. I now use my old HP 1440*900 as a secondory. The new one is connected to my PC by display port, the old one via VGA. That's important because the VGA-connection is to the mainboard not the 280x. While running games despite my specs I always had to run most games including KSP at medium quality. KSP for example still had to reduce the in game timer sometimes (yellow). So as I started KSP on my new screen for the first time it crased, again and again. So did all my other games. I only could solve this by running KSP in windowed mode on lower resolution. Other games worked only windowed on 1440*900. I tried a lot of stuff to fix that but nothing worked. ;.; Ten minutes ago it occured to me: "The games do only run on the resolution of my old screen, which is plugged to the mainboard. Hmm, could it be? Could my PC have used the cr*ppy onboard graphics all this time without me noticing?" So i checked everything and found nothing. Yesterday I actually reset Windows in an attempt to solve this. I checked Catalyst Control Center, maybe the 20th time, and found a dropdown where the R9 and the Intel Onboard graphics were listed. I checked the options and found a "deactivate display" option. I deactivated the onboard display, my secondary screen went dark. I reactivated the screen over Windows setting, started KSP and BAM!!! Full HD, resolution ULTRA, framerate explodes. I have never used my high end gaming graphics card since I bought my PC. Damn I feel dumb right now.

There is no cheating in a single player sandbox game. Do what ever you want or consider acceptable. I use clipping regularly to get sleeker more aerodynamic designs.
