  1. Lemon Space Inc. proudly presents: The R-36Orb ICBM/FOBS Download: Stock and Mod* version http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/r-36orb/ Our Engineers worked hard, to give the best, to the ones giving us their best, their money. This baby cannot bring death over thousands, but millions. It works after the FOBS (Fractional Orbital Bombardment System) principle. That means it can get stable orbit and can be released whenever, wherever you want. It has a RTG added so it has enough energy in the undeployed state. Let me present the R-36Orb: First stage Engine block: 3 two-chamber RD-250 engine; 1 four chamber RD-68M steering engine 2nd stage Engine block: 1 two-chamber RD-252 engine; 1 four-chamber RD-69M engine at the launchpad 1st stage separation Gravity Turn Payload in stable orbit, waiting for deployment The "payload": 6 MIRV (Multiple independent reentry vehicles) warheads + carrier Deorbiting MIRV deployment Instructions: -Launch with SAS on -from gravity turn until orbit: activate RCS Actiongroups: 1 - toggle solar panel 2 - deploy antenna *Mod version needs procedural fairings: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/procedural-fairings/
  2. Thank you. The rest of the bundle is sadly to heavy to meet the criteria of the contest
  3. Keriane VI (concept) Mass p: 35 tons Payload z: 2.005 tons m=50-p=15 m*z=30.075 points Note this rocket uses SRBs as its 1st and 2nd stage. Keriane VI Advanced (concept) Mass p: 36tons Payload z: 2.05 tons m=50-p=14 m*z=28.7 points Same as Keriane VI (concept) with an enhanced upper stage to enable KEO. Keriane VI (concept) and Keriane VI Advanced (concept) are part of the Minimalist Keriane Bundle
  4. Baenki CEO of the Melon Space Corporation proudly presents: The Minimalist Ariane Replica Bundle™ a.k.a The Minimalist Keriane Bundle™ Download: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/keriane/ At this point the pack is consisting of 3 classic Ariane Rockets Ariane I, II, III and the concept design Ariane VI. But because this is KSP and everything has to start with "K" the replicas are called Keriane. The goal of this project is to create Kerbalised replicas, with as less parts as possible. But still just like the real thing. The models that will be shown, are fully testet and ready to fly. About payloads: All payloads to LKO (100x100km) and KEO (2869x2869km) are the maximum Melon Space Corp. tested. Rockets may carry bigger payloads. Color Code: GREEN - The Payload can be put in LKO/KEO without problems. The mass maybe could be higher. YELLOW - The Payload can be put in LKO/KEO without problems. The mass limit is reached. RED - The payload mass is the structural limit the rocket can hold. Caution is advised. Don´t exceed this limit!!! So now let us see the lifters. (Payloads and Fairings not included) Keriane I Part count: 34 First Stage TWR (without payload): 1.26 Max. Payload tested: -LKO - 4.85tons -KEO - 1.75tons This Rocket is really straight forward. Keriane II Part count: 34 First Stage TWR (without payload): 1.24 Max. Payload tested: -LKO - 7.10tons -KEO - 3.65tons Keriane I with an enhanced upper stage. Keriane III Part count: 40 First stage TWR (without payload): 1.24 Max. Payload tested: -LKO - 8.35tons Caution: If the first stage is still attached at gravity turn, only tap your RCS or the rocket will break. -KEO - 4.50tons Keriane II with SRBs added. Keriane IV Coming Soon™ Keriane V Coming Soon™ Keriane VI (Concept) Part count: 22 First stage TWR (without payload): 3.04 Max Payload tested: -LKO - 2.005tons -KEO - not KEO capable (a KEO capable version is planned.) This could be the most interesting of the pack, unsing 4 SRBs in 2 stages. For more information about "Keriane VI" look here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/39666-Simple-Ariane-6-Concept-Replica-0-20-Picture-Heavy Keriane VI Advanced (Concept) Part count: 22 First stage TWR (without payload): 2.75 Max Payload tested: -LKO - 2.05tons -KEO - 1.05tons Caution! Upper stage can not be deorbited with this payload size. - 0.85tons Munar Injection possible. (Circularisation not tested.) Keriane VI concept with an enlarged upper stage. Stronger version coming as soon as the game gives us stronger SRBs. Size Comparison Flight instructions for Keriane I,II,III: -Activate SAS before launch. -Launch with max. thrust. -At ~9km start your gravity turn. Use RCS. -Let the first stage burn out completely before dropping it. Don´t stop your burn because you overshot your desired AP. There is plenty Fuel for later correction. When you are circularizing you will lose a little height of your AP usually. -To get to KEO get a stable orbit first. At PE use the remaining fuel to get an higher AP. At the next AP burn retrograde to reentry, drop the 2nd stage. Then burn for KEO with the remaining upper stage. -If you don't have an excessively big payload the upper stage has enough fuel to deorbit itself. Flight instructions for Keriane VI: -Activate SAS before launch -Fire up those solids. -1st stageing event at ~9000m -Use RCS for the Gravity turn and fire up the 2nd solid stage -Use your upper stage to finish the circularisation. -If you don't have an excessively big payload the upper stage has enough fuel to deorbit itself. Have Fun!!! So this is basically it for the moment. Disclaimer: Store "Keriane" in a dry, dark place. Store "Keriane" at room temperature (not more than 25°C). 5. Ariane 6 Concept Replica - "Keriane 6" For more information: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/39666-Simple-Ariane-6-Concept-Replica-0-20-Picture-Heavy
  6. Thank you. And that includes the example payload which is 10 parts.
  7. I actually made one too. Mine works pretty well i think.
  8. Keriane 6 is now part of the "Minimalist Keriane Bundle" After seeing this thread http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/39581-Ariane-6-design discussing about the new concept of ESA´s Ariane 6 and reading the linked articles, I thought: Why not??? So here it is!!! Melon Space Corporation proudly presents: The "Ariane 6 Replica". The Keriane!!! (In the following pictures the "Procedural Fairings" Mod* is used. I will upload a stock and a mod .craft file.) The "Keriane 6" in VAB As you can see it has the two solid booster signature stages, as they are discussed in the articles. Kerbal Engineer Redux shows that all the stages have a pretty good TWR, so this design could work. But will it work? Keriane 6 on the launchpad All systems go! We have a liftoff!!! Keriane 6 in flight At ~9000m there is the first staging event Gravity turn. Final Apoapsis after 2nd stage burn-out. 2nd staging event. Dropping the fairings (mod version only) After circularisation burn at AP ~100x200 km correct this to an 100x100km orbit at PE Or go higher. 950x950 km is the max tested height the upper stage can be deorbited. Dropping the example payload sattelite Deorbiting upper stage Conclusion: Success The part count of this rocket is very low: 21 parts + 10 parts example payload + 4 clamps (Mod Version):https://www.dropbox.com/s/v973nd6a1w9z3xy/Ariane%206.craft 18 parts + 10 parts example payload + 4 clamps (Stock Version): https://www.dropbox.com/s/c83z2gx8e4r1kve/Ariane%206%20Stock.craft Flight instructions: - At the launchpad, activate SAS - Launch (Duh ) - The first staging event will take place at ~9000m -> Stage -> Turn off SAS -> Activate RCS -> Start your gravity turn while coasting up to 10000m -> Fire 2nd stage and try to steer with RCS (this can be a little complicated) -After 2nd stage burnout. STAGE -Wait until you are out of atmosphere, then STAGE. The fairings will be dropped. -Open the payload solar panels - Wait until AP and bring your PE to 100 km. -At PE retroburn to bring your orbit to 100x100km. -Release your payload PROGRADE -Deorbit RETROGRADE to avoid collision with payload. And most important: HAVE FUN!!! Action Groups: 1 - Toggle Payload Solar Panels 2 - Toggle Payload Antennae Disclaimer: Store "Keriane 6" in a dry, dark place. Store "Keriane 6" at room temperature (not more than 25°C). "Keriane 6" is not suitable for children under 3 years of age. CHOKING HAZARD. "Keriane 6" is not guaranteed to fly.
