  1. Oh. Whoopsie. I clipped them like that to keep the Mach 1 wave drag area low. Thanks though.
  2. Dan R. Paulsen is the reason I have spent over a 100 dollars on 3d KSP prints. Thanks, Dan.
  3. As you wish. Thanks https://www.dropbox.com/s/ycdz9njswo8qvru/pls%20dont%20die.craft?dl=0 Edit: just noticed that the vertical stabilizers were angled inward slightly, you may want to fix that.
  4. How do you guys recommend fixing this aircraft? It stalls whenever I turn, even with the elevators set to 12 deg deflection. I'm really new to this, so be gentle.
  5. So if V tails are bad, what was the motivation behind the design of the F-22, and the YF-23? And yeah I remember reading about the avrocar. Interesting concept but I can't see the practicality of it.
  6. So guys, with stock parts, is it possible to make a supermaneuverable aircraft? Along with thrust vectoring?
  7. Yeah, building a subsonic aircraft is pretty intuitive, nothing too difficult there. I'm just sort of wondering what little designs tweaks and stuff would help. Like, what wing configuration works best? And should I have a V tail?, 2 vertical stabilizers or one? Things like that. And I've seen that last picture and it made me wonder; who was playing Kerbal all night?
  8. Okay, thanks. And I'm not at my computer now, but what is the graph that shows the Cd, Cl, and the two other lines? And how do I read that?
  9. So I think I understand the deal with shockwaves and cross sectional area curves, but I'm still a bit confused on the others, more accurately, how to read them on the graphs, and how I want them to look, and also what I can do to improve those aspects.
  10. The first video doesn't seem to work for me, however the second was interesting and helpful. Thanks.
  11. Can you elaborate on the last part? I'm not very familiar with those terms. (Cd, cross section (that one's fairly self explanatory though)... etc.)
  12. So I did everything you recommended, and it turns stable now, however I was only able to obtain 9.4 G's for a short moment. I'm thinking I should scrap the design. Also, are there any tutorials that explain all this aerodynamic stuff as if you know nothing about it? I know the basics but... well yeah. Lol.
  13. I added the canards to see if it helped, however it does the same without them. I'll try the other suggestions though.
  14. Yes, it is a stall, I knew that. The thing is, if I rdeuce elevator authority, the turning radius is that of a B-52.
  15. So I added canard to try to help. It didn't. Here's the design. Holding W... Still holding W... I like it better this way. I'm not very good with all this aerodynamic-y stuff. I usually just do what looks like it'll fly. Edit: S. Not W.
  16. Okay guys, every single plane I make in FAR porpoises when I turn. If you guys know what I mean... the nose bounces up and down... and then the plane disassembles itself. *sigh*
  17. See, I look at all these awesome designs but I can't for the life of me make a good one. It always just ends up as a Mk 1 cockpit, with some fuel, 2 engines, some ram intakes, a generic tail, and delta wings. It literally couldn't be more generic. I haven't played in a few months, so I probably just need to learn all the new parts, and how I can use them.
  18. Yes, that's reasonable. I mostly put it in general because I was asking what's changed, but alright.
  19. No? Why is that? Couldn't you just take the model, upload it to Shapeways, and... yeah?
  20. Whackjob! Still insane as ever? (As in, your ship designs... no offence intended! )
  21. I knew there was a lot. I'm interested in making some military-esque whatevers. But I'll obviously have to scrap most of my old designs. Also, I noticed someone made a tool that I've been wanted since I first joined, 2 years ago; one that allows you to create 3D models of your craft... has anyone tried 3D printing one yet?
