SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
biggles1 replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The Cassiel space hotel. 200m long, houses up to 86 kerbals and lags my game down to 4fps. When KSP is made into 64bit, I'll add extra sections to the bottom port, namely a lobby section and larger docking area for spacecraft. More pics available here: http://s1112.photobucket.com/user/biggles1994/library/Updated%20cassiel%20space%20hotel Mods used: KOSMOS space station parts HOME pack Crew manifest Mechjeb 2 pre release -
I use fraps to tell me.

So I had some spare time today, and I remembered that Salyut module I put in orbit a few weeks ago, and I decided to make a space hotel. Next thing I knew, 5 hours had passed and I was planning where to install the 3D cinema. The station con hold 86 kerbals at once. Once KSP makes a 64 bit version, I plan to add a Lobby and spaceport to the base in that empty node, as well as an emergency escape vehicle at the top. Mods used: Kosmos space station parts HOME pack Crew Manifest Mechjeb 2 pre release The thing is about 220m long, and lags. Oh god the lags. KSP dropped to 4fps at the end. http://s1112.photobucket.com/user/biggles1994/library/Updated%20cassiel%20space%20hotel

I've just finished my first year of an Astrophysics course at university. Next year we study Spacecraft design. I'm desperately trying to find out who teaches it so I can make them use KSP in a lecture XD -

*scrutinises game data size*

If they secretly added new planets, someone would have spotted it in the game data files now. Last I heard they weren't planning to add any more planets for now.

Yeah, the landing was pretty much 'Where'd the other half of my lander go? Why is the ground rushing up so fast? Why am I stuck?'

It's amazing to think how hilariously fast light actually goes. -
Have the Devs ever said why the main Kerbal continent looks like Africa? I always wondered that...

I remember being given a copy of one of the .16 versions by a friend late last year to try out. I loved it so much the first thing I spent my christmas money on was a copy of KSP!

On top of that, in case of a failure the astronauts probably had to do some similar calculations based on manual readings.

At what point does the line between debris and actual missions get crossed? Pretty much every single launch brought me within a few Km of a satellite!

How this went down. 'Woot! Finally landing on another planet!' 'Gonna slow down in the atmosphere, better deploy my chutes!' 'Hey where'd the left half of my lander go?' 'Hey i'm going pretty fast...' 'Is that the ground?' CRASH -
They're still there This was one of the .18 updates I think. I don't go out of my way to kill Kerbals, and adding a launch escape system is always cool, but I won't be missing any sleep over 'accidents' AKA research!

How long until you learned to orbit?
biggles1 replied to Spaceisbeautifulul's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Took me about a week from first trying the game to successful Mun landing.
