Woah. Didn't notice you had edited your post to include another entry. Sorry about that. Leaderboard's been updated. Congratulations on the new record!
-
No argument was intended Also, you might want to change your signature. You have been bested
-
That is awesome. I apologize for not having updated the leaderboard earlier; I didn't expect someone to come back and submit another entry. But now that it's back on the front page, maybe we can expect some more entries from people who haven't seen the challenge yet! Also, I've updated the leaderboard. True. Too bad I didn't think of that when I first posted the challenge :/. I'm definitely not going to change the rules--watching people exploit rule deficiencies is definitely fun, and it has been too long for a rule change to be a good idea. But I think it would be a good idea for someone to make a modified challenge for travel to say, Duna, with proper capitalism in place.

I've updated the leaderboard. I wish I could have done it sooner but I've been having some trouble and haven't been able to check as often as I used to. Congrats to hoioh on the new modded record!
-
Did I miss something? Did Whackjob get replaced?
-
It wasn't the official badge. Or at least until now. I've decided to make it official (with thanks to Ziv, who made it!)
-
I can't think of a good way to fit that into the challenge. Maybe if there is enough demand for it I can add a separate leaderboard. But for now, just use the stock solar system. Cool. I'll get that put up on the leaderboard when I get home. I don't have a badge ATM, I'll have to make one soon. Sorry I didn't update earlier, it's been a while since the last post and I've been checking less frequently.
-
Ok. I did that. Although if we compared to fuel cost 1 Fund would be worth less than 1 million USD. Finding a working exchange rate (if one exists) is going to be difficult.
-
Cool. I did not expect the price to get this low when I first posted the challenge. Funds are worth a lot of earth money. 1 Fund is likely worth at least a million USD, if we compare to how far earth dollars will get you in space.
-
I've updated the rules to accommodate for the new difficulty options in .25. I'm excited to see the new entries we'll get with the new parts! I'm expecting epic.
-
Cool, our first sub 100 Funds entry! And also 100th reply! ...COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT. I've updated the leaderboard. I'm surprised we haven't seen any modded entries yet.
-
As long as you can do it without using the debug menu.
-
Ok. I rounded it up to 110 because it makes it a little bit simpler.
-
Is this what you want?
-
Code Geass is good and not too long. But you should watch Legends of the Galactic Heroes. It might be over 100 episodes (only by a little bit, 110 or so), but it is epic.
-
Correction: the the defects actually developed shortly after birth, two posts after, to be exact.
-
So do you want me to include it, or wait for you to expand it some more? If you landed on the runway then it's fine that you were in sandbox mode.

Pedantry may be important, but a thread intended to be a casual discussion in an off topic section of a forum about little green men flying rockets to space is not the place for it. I wasn't the one who derailed this into an argument about the meaning of a paradox. I didn't say anybody denied it was a paradox. And the paradox doesn't state "A ship that has all its parts replaced is the same ship". It asks, "Is a ship that has all its parts replaced the same ship?"
-
We're not discussing religion. We're discussing a hypothetical situation.
-
When I said "paradox", I didn't necessarily mean strictly a logical paradox. You guys are being pedantic. See "Ship of Theseus". Called a paradox, and yet nobody calls them out on it.
-
Actually, now that I went and checked, it does fit the definition of a paradox. From Google: par·a·dox a statement or proposition that, despite sound (or apparently sound) reasoning from acceptable premises, leads to a conclusion that seems senseless, logically unacceptable, or self-contradictory. The conclusion is senseless, no matter how you look at it. Unless you want to say the premises are unacceptable. Premise 1 - There is a universe in which the afterlife of a person becomes what that person believed the afterlife would be when he dies. Premise 2 - In this universe there is a person who believes that Premise 1 is true. What makes it my decision? Now you're just downright insulting me. Why.
-
I wrote reincarnation mostly as a joke. But the issue I have is that if you believe anything else, what happens is completely straightforward. But once you believe what I stated earlier, there becomes a problem. I understood that the question breaks logic. But there is nothing wrong with a universe that has what you think is your reality after you die become your reality. (that may not be our universe, but we aren't necessarily talking about our universe) And there is nothing wrong with believing that. But when you put both of them together the universe can't really do anything with you when you die. I was trying to get at this and start discussion about it (what's wrong with talking about paradoxes (even if you say this isn't one, it is at least similar)?) Santa Claus is real if and only if the statement "this statement is true" is true. Is Santa Claus real? ^ question that comes from the same line of thought.
-
I guess you could say it's like saying, "this statement is true". But what happens when we try to measure whether or not that statement is true?
-
If what happens to you after you die is what you believe will happen to you after you die, what will happen after you die if you believe that what happens to you after you die is what you believe happens to you after you die? Maybe you're reincarnated and you get to try again What do you guys think? Sorry if someone has come up with this a paradox with a similar basis, but I had to ask. I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the Science Labs, so I stuck it here.

I've updated the leaderboard again. Sorry for the delay, I was busy with school stuff. Cool new entries. I wonder if we'll get double digit ticket prices. Also, I'm surprised we haven't seen any mod entries yet. But I'm terrible at reading these entries and maybe there is one that I put in as vanilla. Also, Ziv: on the badge, I think you should go for eight bit and no circles. (but don't put minecraft in it)
