[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Silenvo replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ok, I'll go check out over there then... Thank you for the help, I appreciate it. Update: Hey! thanks to what you said, Ferram4, I was able to identify that my problem since it wasn't the mod, was in fact my Antivirus (Pesky at times, it likes to sandbox everything.) I use comodo Antivirus and it was conflicting because it kept forcing things to fail from loading. (I also ran in administrative mode, so that might have also helped.) But ultimately, my problem has been found and fixed, and Now I can play with the mod! Thank you for helping me. I hope to have lots of fun playing your mod! (Since I'm a terrible pilot without a joystick to make it easier.) *Flies off to play his game*- 14,073 replies

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Silenvo replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I reinstalled the entirety of KSP from steam, so this is a fresh install - and I'm only installing the absolute latest version of your mod from Spaceport. I am merging all folders in the zip with those in the KSP game folder. GameData with GameData, Parts with Parts, Ships with Ships. All the pieces are present that you mentioned now. (where previously they weren't, to be detailed below.) Apparently, the version of your mod I had picked up was an older variant (v0.9.41), Comparing it with v0.9.5.1 I noticed that it did not have ModuleManager.dll, or a cfg file in the selection, as the new download has. After testing, I finally have control of the control surfaces, but the vehicles seem to lack a lot of their Lift, they don't take off from the runway until they have completely cleared the edge of it practically. Also, the GUI is still missing, no button to bring it up that I know of, and I do not see any obvious FAR icons on the screen, whether in construction or in launch/flight. I cannot post attachments yet, so I cannot post the log directly, However, I did peruse the log and noticed some things like this.. Failed to load assembly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\ModuleManager.dll: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\ModuleManager.dll" is denied. at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at AssemblyLoader.LoadExternalAssembly (System.String file) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 Failed to load assembly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\FerramAerospaceResearch\Plugins\FerramAerospaceResearch.dll: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\FerramAerospaceResearch\Plugins\FerramAerospaceResearch.dll" is denied. at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at AssemblyLoader.LoadExternalAssembly (System.String file) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 Failed to load assembly C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\FerramAerospaceResearch\Plugins\ferramGraph.dll: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData\FerramAerospaceResearch\Plugins\ferramGraph.dll" is denied. at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at AssemblyLoader.LoadExternalAssembly (System.String file) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 I hope this information is helpful?- 14,073 replies

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Silenvo replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yes, I am copying the GameData folder from the FAR zip into my KSP directory. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData", I am merging it with the existing GameData Folder. I only tried it in the plugins folder when it didn't work on the GameData folder. KSP Version: 0.20.2.186 (So yes, I am running 0.20.2) I am not running any mods whatsoever except for yours, which I am trying to get to work. Of note though, other GUI mods seem to fail to work as well when I try to use them, after failures I basically delete the folder and pop in a fresh unmodded version of the game to mod up. I have never had this much trouble modding a game before.- 14,073 replies

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Silenvo replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I do not have B9 Aerospace, I have still tried your suggestion installing ExsurgentEngineering after unpacking appropriately into gamedata folder. No effect, I also tried it in the plugins folder, again no effect. (I am restarting the game every time to test, and even remaking my profile in there.) Given these failures I tried just installing the total of deadly re-entry mod, again to no successful end. The Gui simply refuses to show and the planes still refuse to operate as they should. I'm at a loss here... I tried even the one guy's suggestion/alternative version to the exsurgentengineering.DLL. I am just trying to install this mod -alone-, there is NOTHING else I'm trying to install right now, I just want THIS-ONE-MOD to work. From there I can start trying to make everything else work. In case if its still needed here is my computer specs, again. Game Specs: (Steam Version) - v0.20.2.186 Computer Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, i7 CPU 975 @ 3.33 GHz 3.33 GHz, 6.00GB RAM, 64-bit Operating System. Controls: Razor Lycosa Keyboard, and Razor Death Adder Mouse. (These two only, no joystick.)- 14,073 replies

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18

Can someone direct me, if no one can help me with my problem (installation or configuration, detailed on page 61), about where I can go to get this mod working? I would really appreciate it. There isn't a readme or any tutorial that seems to help. The few times someone has even remotely mentioned a similar issue, is two people on the mod download comment section and BOTH said "nevermind." afterwards, and didn't explain what they did. I -really- want to use this mod! But if no one is willing to help me, how am I supposed to get anywhere?.. Gah! I'm sorry if I seem impatient, I just want to play with the mod and have not been having any luck finding what I need. Google is not helping.- 14,073 replies

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
Silenvo replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I require assistance with installation or configuration. Symptoms: When I enter the building hanger there is no sign of the FAR screen (as I have seen on TheWinterOwl's Let's Fly), when I turn on the "Center of Lift" the blue ball is in the center of the floor. Lastly, when I launch to the runway, none of the control surfaces respond, no matter what aircraft I chose to operate; the dials at the bottom left are moving, but the control surfaces are not. I do not understand why it is malfunctioning, and I have examined installation suggestions from three different locations and even watched a few YouTube videos (of the few that there are) on installing mods. Despite following to the letter, still yielded the same results. Other mods have successfully installed - mostly, being parts and ships - the mods ships do show up, but the interface adjustments and helpers do not. I have tried every single key on my keyboard in hopes of some undocumented hotkey, again to no avail. After wasting my day failing on this, my only chance of getting help is asking here. It would appear that I am either fundamentally missing an important detail, or that the mod is conflicting with the game. I really want this to work, but I'm getting nowhere; can someone explain what I'm doing wrong? Game Specs: (Steam Version) - v0.20.2.186 Computer Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, i7 CPU 975 @ 3.33 GHz 3.33 GHz, 6.00GB RAM, 64-bit Operating System.
