  1. I don't know how fast rardens pc is. The picture of a mug the sampling was set to "270" and took about 13 minutes to render if that helps any.
  2. So after a little help from an amazing tutorial I found I have come up with this! My first full model made in Blender. o is it possible to import a KSP part model, or an entire craft into blender?
  3. It looks like Tiberdyne shuttle systems.
  4. So I'm taking a shot at cinematics with KSP but I do have one disadvantage and that is my computer. Hopefully this isn't too bad. Tell me what you think!
  5. First off, I couldn't figure out where else this should go because it is just a discussion on a topic of Kerbal space program, I apologize now if its in the wrong area. Ever wanted to make your own Kerbal voice? Well with some help from research and a friend we have figured it out! Its actually pretty simple just follow these steps. 1. Have a recording program capable of reversing a track and changing the pitch (I use audacity personally) 2. Record what you want to say. 3. Reverse the track. 4. Make the pitch higher, for my voice I had to increase it by roughly 43% 5. Listen and make adjustments to the pitch as needed. Don't like using your voice because you can't get the pitch right? Well here is an alternative. 1. Still need a recording program. 2. Go to google translate. 3. Type something and translate it to Spanish. 4. Google translate has a button where you can listen to the translation, listen to it. 5. Record google talking to you. 6. Reverse the track. 7. Change the pitch 15% up. (this is the best value I found to sound "Kerbalish") I found the need to have some Kerbal talking sounds when I started working on a video project and could not find any that were not distorted as if they were transmitted over a radio. I needed something like a Kerbal narration so after some brain storming and research came up with this!
  6. I currently have two different series going on with a total or 35 subscribers I guess I am starting to get some where eh?
  7. I knew from Danny's video that intakes would bounce, and then bounce away lol. How stable is using intakes light that doing turns? Yes all stock parts float but for example, if you land a pod in water it rolls to its side and is half submerged. If I wanted to make like a small cargo vessel to carry a rover out of flat wing sections do they work? Do they stay 100% above the suface?
  8. So... How do you make a boat in stock ksp? how do the float mechanics work?
  9. If you are building a plane, yes pay attention to the aerodynamics. Building rockets they don't have a huge affect except when doing a gravity turn. Some rockets you may want to add winglets to help steer the gravity turn RCS is needed to control large vehicles if the reaction wheels are not strong enough to move it. But if you plan on doing docking RCS is almost required to move the vessel the way it needs to move. Engine gimbal helps control and steer the vehicle in a given direction when the engine is pushing. It can help do a gravity turn if you don't have winglets on the craft. To see that stats like deltaV and other things I recommend mechjeb. It will tell you all the stats including deltaV of each stage, and the total, in the atmosphere and in orbit. Personally I would use only manned craft and not probes because with manned capsules you can do crew reports and eva reports. If it lands also has the option of doing a soil sample. A probe cannot do it. As for the math behind science I'm not too good. Hope this info helped!
  10. The beta is finished enough to use last time I used it which was a few months ago, but if this is still in development? I have no idea.
  11. Recorded some footage for a new cinematic series!
  12. Hey guys! A little while back before the holidays I had a little sit down with InfiniteDice the creator of Boat parts and the ICE mods. In this interview we talk about his plans for the mods, current features, and how things work in a little more detail. One thing I know people will say about the video, the audio never loops but the video footage does. I spent two hours trying to think of a way to not do this and didnt come up with anything... But anyway here it is!
  13. Brilliant! I have a little notepad with a checklist beside my computer for exactly this kinda stuff!
  14. Haven't tried it yet but it looks pretty good. will have to try it out later! Thanks.
  15. 3/10 I've seen you only like twice before
  16. For Christmas I recieved a $50 Steam gift card which I used up rather quickly. As some of you may know I have a lower end PC so my choices were slightly limited, but I thought I would go ahead and share the games I got and what I think of them. Legends of Eisenwald: Its an RPG in midevil times but Its pretty crappy in my opinion, played for a half hour and uninstalled it. Iron Warriors T-72 tank command: Its a tank sim, the story line is kinda hard to follow and the controls need to be states better but I think its not bad to play around with. Surgeon Sim 2013: Hilarious game, love it so far but it seems like it will get boring after a while. World in conflict Soviet assault: Played the demo and downloading it right now, the demo was incredibly fun and I except the full version to be even better we will see soon! Theater of war 3 Korea: Installing it right now as well... The trailer and images of it looks fun but I'm kinda skepticle. Brutal Legends: An RPG based around a fantasy world and heavy metal. I bought it for one reason... The music, love classic and thrash metal and thats all this game has, and it features Jack Black! I'm installing it last but I think it will be pretty good. State of Decay: A zombie survival sim, I'm not too fond of it right now because the controls are jacked up. Walking is like walking on hex tiles even though there are no hex tiles... Kind of annoying might be a deal breaker for me idk yet. Have any of you all ever tried these games? If so what are you opinions. Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays!
  17. I gotta say KSP has also changed me a bit like the OP said. I don't want to work for NASA just because the Government is involved (would ratgher go private) but I want to learn more about orbital mechanics and everything else which I've already been studying the space race since I was first introduced to this game!
  18. You can also click on the runway and do the same thing! Merry Christmas! (or happy holidays whichever you prefer )
  19. even though this does not seem all that popular I just want to say thank you for keeping this mod updated! I use this for recording video's and getting some shots you just can't get any other way. So I really appreciate all the time you've put in to this and hope you keep up the great work!
  20. Really love it, I subscribed, can't wait for the next episode. Could you share some tips when it comes to Vegas?
  21. I didn't realize you were still working on it! thats great news!
  22. Just as a quick note, the video is probably better then the writing just because the writing is based off the video and I haven't watched or read anything that has really inspired me. When I'm inspirired obviously the writing is better. Kerpollo 17, the 2nd to last Mun Mission was launched 1972. It was the 17 manned mission to the Mun using the old outdated Mun-Bug, on the the last mission the lander almost crashed which would have killed all a board. KASA decided they needed a new lander! This lander was much more simple then the MunBug style lander then before, with only 4 small fuel tanks 4 engines and a lander can. KASA thought they had an amazing new lander until Kerpollo 18, this is their story. Kerpollo 18, scheduled to launch May 23rd, 1976. This mission was to be launched using the new revolutionary T-800 launcher system by USKS. Another major difference is that the lander did not have a Command Module. The rockets booster stage was to achieve munar orbit, the lander would then separate and land. Jeb Kerman was chosen to taken a rookie on the mission and get him use to the new lander even though he does not know how to use it himself. Launch day came rather quickly and the two man crew jumped on board with great excitement. In their earpiece they heard the countdown to launch. "Ignition!" A sudden shaking of the craft as they are pushed back down into their seats by the G-Forces being exerted as the craft begins to pick up more speed. At 9km they feel the craft roll over on its side to start the gravity turn, quickly after the turn the force of the engines stop as they run out of fuel. "Booster seperation." "Main engine firing" The crew get forced into their seats once again as the main engine fires pushing them into a sub-orbital trajectory. Once thing was difference about this, instead of doing a burn at apoptosis to circularize the orbit the engine continue to fire. The engine was burning for a total of 11 minutes to get a Munar encounter. The hours waiting to reach the Mun were boring at that, but also filled with anxiety not knowing how well the new lander performs. The main engine fires one last time circularizing an orbit at 7.5km off the Mun's surface. It is seperated and left in orbit around the Mun. The crew orbits looking for a good landing location. Once a nice smooth surface was spotted they waited to come back around to it and fired the booster engine. All horizontal velocity was killed quickly and booster engine separation was clean. This was the last transmission from the crew... In memory of Jeb Kerman and "New Guy" Kerman.
