  1. Crashed into the Mun. These guys are so cheerful because the impact destroyed 3 layers of fuel tanks, 4 radial engines, another rover, all of their RCS, all of the solar panels except those on the first rover and the landing legs. Time to launch a rescue mission! Edit: Ground Control is still working out what the hell happened up there, but the chances of a rescue mission are looking slim.
  2. Finally a use for landing scientific instruments on a planet then? I like it!
  3. Sending my brave kosmonauts on EVA! I design all sorts of stuff to help my kerbals get around in space or low-grav moons. Of course, now I have a fair few kerbals stranded around the Mun as a result of running out of monoprop/electricity/oxygen, but that's where the fun is for me!
  4. Yup! It had absolutely nothing to do with the fact I wanted to make the text size as big as possible so the whole cosmos could stare in amazement at my 1-size-larger text font, which unfortunately included dropping a few letters here and there. Also, I think it gives the thing spirit, a story of some kind
  5. Do you have a screenshottie of the design? It might be that you accidentally have a decoupler placed in the wrong staging level, or that you're using engines with a low atmospheric specific impulse. With my asparagus designs (all three of them ) I can easily pull 8000 D-V or so, enough for almost any mission inside the Kerbin SOI without needing to pull off an orbital refuelling!
  6. ... you wake up in the morning, mistake your crying baby brother for a kerbal and immediately try to calculate how much Delta-V it would take to fire that kerbal to the Mun.
  7. Wow, that does look awesome I love your design for the solar collector arms by the way!
  8. Well... it turns out all those wackjobs trying to scale the KSC perimeter fence with their 'placards' and their 'clean energy' had a point. Ah well! We can colonise another planet and they can't! That's success by my books Seriously though, I have bugs, glitches and errors that usually involve stuff like that. Sometimes my kerbinauts disappear from inside their EVA suits, sometimes my HUD disappears and I have to fly by eye... oh, and one time my ship became stationary at 27,000m and promptly got run over by Kerbin. On topic, today I'm delivering my Munar Science Laboratory to... well, the Mun. Lots of scaffolding, lots of instruments, lots of boosters!
  9. I leave a small amount of fuel in my tanks (as well as enough electricity, heh) to drag the debris below LKO and into the atmosphere. If that fails, I send up a small tug with the KAS mod, join the two together, and drag 'em both down into the atmosphere!
  10. Take a look at the Kerbal Engineer mod (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/0-18-1-kerbal-engineer-redux-v0-5/). This'll give you a really simple breakdown of Delta-V and weight-thrust ratio in the VAB, which is incredibly useful once you progress past the stage of trying to gauge your rocket's efficiency by eye. You can also find some basic Delta-V calculations on the KSP wiki; stuff like how much Delta-V you need to establish a Low Kerbin Orbit at 80km. Very useful! And welcome to the forums mate
  11. Today I learned that ordering sub-standard space suits as a way of funding the 'If We Can't Reach Eeloo, We'll Bring Eeloo To Us!' project results in extremely minor... uhm... suit leaks. Still, nothing to worry about! I'm sending another crew on EVA to recover the suits for re-use!
  12. My (current) flag for Centari Interstellar. We're still workin' on the 'Interstellar' part, but hey! Maybe some of those brave kerbinauts I fired into a Kerbol escape velocity will find something! Those poor, gullible kerbals...
