  1. This would be pretty simple to do, it would require a bit of time tweaking to achieve the best results in different situations but the actual principle is an easy one to implement. Squad doesn't seem to do any optimisation at the moment, hence the crazy loading times, physics lag and memory usage. I'm not sure if it's lack of experience in that area, or if they are waiting for the game to be almost complete and optimising then, which is a sort of sensible thing to do, but sucks for people playing the game in the meantime.
  2. Well I am a programmer sonny. This is an incredibly easy job. How to do this in simple steps. 1. Get current time. 2. Fade between the external spot light and internal light based on time. Midnight = 100% internal light, 0% external light and obviously the opposite for midday. This would take ten minutes to implement in Unity. Sure, it's a bit of a hack, you wouldn't be able to see the sunrise and stuff, but it would be a less jarring hack than the current hack.
  3. I've tried a few combinations now and it seems the 4 x LV-T45 arrangement is better for some designs but not others. It's starting to hurt my brain working it out. It does seem like it is something worth experimenting with though.
  4. You actually end up with less delta-V though, because the LV-T45 arrangement you describe is 2.2 tons heavier than a skipper

  7. I mainly use it for delta-v calculation while constructing ships, and for the maneuver node editor. Sometimes I use it when I can't be bothered babysitting long burns.
  8. Alternate launch mechanism? Do you mean the Launch Stabilisers? They are just the regular ones, rotated.
  9. I wonder if it will always be daytime in the VAB. It will be a bit weird to build your rocket while looking out at the sunny sky, then when you go outside to launch it's dark.
  10. One aerospike, unmanned - 8197 m/s deltaV - Initial TWR 0.96 Not really much further you can go than this. The side tanks get you out of the atmosphere and then the top two tanks have to be jettisoned with the ship backwards, not a big deal in space.
